Abstract

A picture frame that in addition to displaying a conventional photograph or picture, and displaying a portion of a written musical score, it also houses an octave of piano keys that when depressed activate a sound chip that plays music or sound.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Musicians need an attractive display and portable medium in which the viewer can readily recognize the performer's area of talent as well as provide a convenient audible source that the viewer can listen and experience a sampling of the musician's work.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This concept presents an attractive medium for which a musician can showcase and advertise in a succinct promotional package, who they are, their musical instrument of choice, and provide a direct audio (and perhaps recognition enabling) example of the musician's talent.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

A picture frame of conventional construction and made of any style, shape, size or color that is divided into three (or more) sections of varying dimensions to accommodate three separate frame sections within. One section frames conventional photography, pictures, or artwork. The second section contains and frames a musical score or portion thereof of sheet music. The third section contains and frames an actual “octave” of piano key flats and sharps. The key(s) are directly positioned over a switch, button, or other such trigger mechanism that is wired to a sound module, so that when the key(s) are depressed they activate an attached “sound module”, digital sound device or any other electronic device; a device that plays or synthesizes music or other sound clip. The sections could vary in orientation but the basic configuration will be as shown in figure one. The sound module used has improved audio quality. With the advancement in capability of such audio devices, sound quality is sufficient so as to provide an acceptable rendition and representation of the performer's music. Previous musical frames do not combine the previously mention elements together in such a unique way and for such a targeted purpose.

CLAIM

The Musical Piano Frame provides a unique and original pairing of three elements, a musical score, a conventional photograph or picture, and an octave of full-scale piano flats (key tops). The use of actual piano key flats and sharps capable of triggering a sound or melody stored and generated by a low profile sound module; allowing the function to be housed in a picture display that is generally used as a means of solely displaying two dimensional media and conventionally not expected to be capable to of doing so, is the claim. It is a unique and enjoyable method of engaging the “participant” by enabling them to start a song by actually taking the action that would be required of the musician. The claim is not for the components themselves but for the unique combination and application of those components.

2. A conventional photograph frame that, in addition to holding an image or photograph, also displays actual piano key flats and sharps that are positioned over a switch connected to a low profile sound module, so that when the piano key(s) is depressed, a sound or melody is triggered.
