BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

The invention relates generally to a fortune telling game and particularly to a game having a board with eight prognosticative card sites utilizing eight Prophesy Coins as positional and rotational identifiers and used in conjunction with any style deck or decks of tarot cards to obtain a psychic reading for fun and entertainment.

The following patents U.S. Pat. No. 5,499,818 issued to Allal (1995), and U.S. Pat. No. 6,460,852 issued to Tallian (2002) both have a game board with specific locations and a set of cards signifying these locations for the placement of other playing cards. However in my game, the eight Prophesy Coins not only identity eight numerical game board location sites for eight selected tarot cards, but also designate how these tarot cards are rotated, which adds a new dimension not offered by any other card game. Each tarot card is placed either right side-up or upside down depending upon whether the Prophesy Coin is dispensed either “Normal” side up or “Reverse” side up respectively. Since the tarot card selection, rotation and placement on the game board are random, a greater number of card permutations are possible thus offering very unique prognosticative readings.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The Prophesy Coins Game is a unique, yet simple fortune telling game played with eight numbered Prophesy Coins, a specially designed Prophesy Coin Dispenser, a pliable fabric game board, and any style of tarot cards for fun and entertainment. This game employs a multi-random card and coin selection process that offers the Querent a unique statistical reading of 1 in 7.25×1012. In step one, a tarot card is randomly chosen from any fortune telling tarot deck. In step two, a Prophesy Coin is obtained at random from the Prophesy Dispenser/Container. The number on the Prophesy Coin designates a corresponding location site on the game board into which the first selected tarot card is now placed. The orientation of this tarot card whether placed right side up or upside down is determined by whether the Prophesy Coin is dispensed with its “Normal” side up or its “Reverse” side up respectively. This procedure is repeated seven more times until all eight tarot cards are successively positioned and oriented on the game board sites. The eight numbered boxed location sites are identified with specific prognosticative inscriptions, and when viewed collectively with their corresponding tarot cards, define a psychic reading unique to the query.

A major advantage of the Prophesy Coins Game is that it can be used with all types of tarot cards, which as a result will yield a reading relative to the theme and style of the deck being used. And to present an even wider cosmic latitude of prophesy for the more advanced students of divination, cards from different tarot decks can be shuffled together and used in combination.

Another benefit of this game is the eight Prophesy Coins, which when dispensed from a uniquely designed Prophesy Coin Dispenser/Container, randomly generates the location site and the orientation for each of the eight tarot cards picked by the Player. No other fortune telling game provides for the rotation of a playing card as the result from a random generated outcome, as is the case in the Prophesy Coins Game. Using this method, the final reading has a statistical probability of 1 in 7.25×1012 which is quite unique. Also since the tarot card in location box No. 1 is also adventitiously selected, neither the Player nor Reader has any control or decision over the “Query” to be analyzed, which improves on the game's psychic phenomenon. The Prophesy Coins Game provides hours of fun and entertainment for both the novice students of divination while challenging those prophets with more advanced psychic skills.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

For the purpose of illustrating the invention, there is shown in the drawings a form which is presently preferred; it being understood, however, that this invention is not limited to the precise arrangements and instrumentalities shown.

FIG. 1 is a plan view of the game board of this invention showing the eight outlined numbered locations (22), with their respective prognosticative inscriptions (23), shaped into a letter “A” spread pattern. Also shown are the highlighted, outlined areas for placement of the tarot card deck (20) and the Prophesy Coins Dispenser (21).

FIG. 2 is a view of this invention illustrating the eight numbered Prophesy Coins (30) used as the positional and rotational identifiers for the placement and orientation of the eight randomly selected tarot cards. Each numbered coin ranging from “one” to “eight” is shown with its “Normal” side up (30A), and when flipped over, shown with its “Reverse” side up (30B).

FIG. 3 is a simplified view of an Prophesy Coin Container/Dispenser (40) according to the invention, that is used to house, conceal, mix, and randomly dispenses the eight Prophesy Coins, wherein a false type bottom (41), protruding from one end into the container's inner chamber (42), helps mix and separate the Prophesy Coins when said container is shaken by the Player. When the container is tilted with its nozzle (43) side down, the hopper chute (44) funnels the Prophesy Coins into said nozzle such that only one coin (30) can be dispensed laterally from the nozzle spout (45) one at a time.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The Prophesy Coins Game is a unique, yet simple fortune telling game consisting of a standard tarot deck of 78 cards, a game board, eight Prophesy Coins, and a Prophesy Coin Dispenser. The Prophesy Coins Game board can be made of any substance having eight outlined card location sites formed in a pattern and numbered “1” to “8”, one number per box non repeating and labeled with specific prognosticative inscriptions. The following inscribed prognosticative headings (23) define said eight outlined location sites used for the card pattern on the game board:

Location “1” signifies the “Query” and subject matter to be analyzed and discussed;

Location “2” signifies the “Past Circumstances” concerning the query;

Location “3” signifies the “Present Influences” as they apply to the query;

Location “4” signifies the “Obstacles to Overcome” associated with the query;

Location “5” signifies the “Method to be Used” to overcome the obstacles;

    • Location “6” signifies the “Time Frame” encompassing the situation;

Location “7” signifies any “Fate Interventions” controlling the situation;

Location “8” signifies the “Future Outcome” and the best possible scenario that can be obtained with regards to the query;

The eight Prophesy Coins are two-sided coins numbered from “1” to “8” non repeating having only one number per coin, and with “Normal” printed only on one side of the coin, while “Reverse” is printed on the other side. These coins are stored in a unique Prophesy Coin Dispenser, which has a false type indented bottom protruding into its inner chamber at one end, and has a flat rectangular nozzle connected to a hopper type chute at the other end. When the container is tilted with its nozzle side down, the hopper funnels the coins into the nozzle only permitting one coin to be dispensed laterally at a time from the spout opening.

The following procedural steps should be adhered to when playing the game.

    • To start the game, the Querent shuffles the tarot deck and spreads all the cards out face down;
    • The Querent now selects a tarot card at random from the faced down cards;
    • The Querent shakes the Dispenser, mixing the Prophesy Coins held within, and obtains a Prophesy Coin by tilting the container nozzle side down;
    • The Reader now places the selected tarot card face up on the game board in the numbered location site that is signified by the number on the Prophesy Coin. If the coin is facing with its “Normal” side up, the tarot card is oriented right side up. However, if the coin is dispensed with its “Reverse” side up, then the tarot card is rotated upside down;
    • The Querent now selects another tarot card and follows the same procedure as above until all eight location sites on the game board are filled with tarot cards; at which time
    • The Reader now formulates a prognosticatve reading from the context of each of the eight selected tarot cards relating their meaning and orientation with their positional game-board-data inscriptions with reference to the query.

A unique feature of this game is the eight Prophesy Coins, which when dispensed from a uniquely designed Prophesy Coin Container/Dispenser, randomly generates the board-site location and orientation for each of the eight selected tarot cards. The Prophesy Coins determine the rotation of the tarot cards as a randomly generated outcome and not as a result of a decision from either the Querent or the Reader. By using this procedure, the final psychic reading has a statistical probability of 1 in 7.25×1012 possibilities, which is quite singular. Since the tarot card in location box No. 1 is also randomly selected, neither the Player nor Reader has any control over the “Query” to be analyzed, which also improves on the psychic phenomenon of the game.

According to the framework of the game, eight tarot cards are first randomly selected from a standard deck of 78 tarot cards. And since each tarot card has a definite meaning both in its “Normal” or right-side up mode and in its “Reverse” or upside down mode, there are 156 possibilities to select from. With a permutation of eight cards per reading placed into eight instructional data sites on the game board, the probability for any particular permutation or outcome for that set of cards of occurring is: 1 in 7.25×1012; which mathematically can be calculated by:

156 ! ( 156 - 8 ) ! × 8 ! = 156 × 155 × 154 × 153 × 152 × 151 × 150 × 149 8 × 7 × 6 × 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 = 7.25 × 10 12

In conclusion, I have developed a unique fortune telling card game of novel format having innovative components that will yield an almost “one-of-a-kind” prognosticative result whereby, informing a Querent how his/her past and present life based situations may predict future outcomes. The Prophesy Coins Game allows the players to peek into that mystical, metaphysical world with their inner eye while providing hours of fun and entertainment. It is designed for the skills of both the novice students of divination while challenging those prophets with more advanced psychic abilities.
