Impermeable Protective Barrier For A Toilet Seat

The invention provides an impermeable protective seat cover for a toilet seat. The barrier provides protection from body fluids and waste left on toilet seats during use by creating an impermeable layer between the user and the toilet seat. The embodiments of the current invention include an individually wrapped unit containing an elasticized protective seat cover that provides an impermeable protective barrier that conforms to a standard size toilet seat and a set of protective gloves. The protective barrier is placed over the seat while wearing the protective gloves. After use, the protective seat cover is removed while wearing the protective gloved. All items are then discarded into the garbage.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Toilet seats on toilets are often soiled by the body fluids of people using the toilet seat. People using public toilets often have to deal with body fluids on toilet seats left by previous users of the toilet, with no easy way for the user to cleanly sit the toilet seats.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 shows the components of a toilet seat cover system in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention; and

FIG. 2 shows the toilet seat cover system in use with a toilet in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention generally relates to an impermeable protective barrier for a toilet seat.

FIG. 1 shows the components of a toilet seat cover system in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 shows the toilet seat cover system in use with a toilet in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.

Embodiments of the present invention include an individually wrapped unit including an elasticized protective seat cover 100 for providing an impermeable protective barrier which conforms to a standard size toilet seat and a set of protective gloves 115.

The protective gloves 115 provide a protective barrier between a user and a toilet seat while the user is applying and/or removing the elasticized protective seat cover 100. The protective gloves 115 may further be used to handle the individually wrapped unit for disposal in the garbage.

The elasticized protective seat cover 100 may conform to a standard size toilet seat and may provide an impermeable protective barrier for a user sitting on a toilet seat of a toilet. The elasticized protective seat cover 100 is elasticized and impermeable to body fluids, such as urine, feces, or blood. The inner 105 and outer 110 elasticized bands of the elasticized protective seat cover may encircle the entire inner and outer borders of a toilet seat, thus providing a stationary fit between the elasticized protective seat 100 and the toilet seat.

A method for protecting a toilet seat in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention comprises: removing an elasticized protective seat cover 100 from a wrapper; detaching protective gloves 115 from the elasticized protective seat cover 100; applying the protective gloves 115 to each hand; applying the elasticized protective seat cover 100 over a toilet seat while wearing the protective gloves 115; after use of the elasticized protective seat cover 100, removing the elasticized protective seat cover 100 from the toilet seat while wearing the protective gloves 115; and discarding the elasticized protective seat cover 100 and the protective gloves 115 into the garbage.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modification may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
