DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-3, a curtain pole assembly in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises two poles 10, a connecting rod 20 inserted between the two poles 10, and two pressing caps 23 each mounted on the connecting rod 20 and each pressing a respective one of the two poles 10.

The two poles 10 are juxtaposed to each other. Each of the two poles 10 has a tubular shape and has an inner wall 11.

The connecting rod 20 has a diameter slightly smaller than an inner diameter of each of the two poles 10. The connecting rod 20 has two protruding blocks 22 provided at two opposite ends thereof. Each of the two protruding blocks 22 of the connecting rod 20 has a tapered shape and has a size reduced gradually and outwardly. Each of the two protruding blocks 22 of the connecting rod 20 is inserted into a respective one of the two poles 10. Each of the two protruding blocks 22 of the connecting rod 20 has a periphery provided with an outer threaded portion 221 and has an end face provided with an enlarged stop flange 222 to stop movement of a respective one of the two pressing caps 23. The stop flange 222 of each of the two protruding blocks 22 has an annular shape and protrudes radially and outwardly. The connecting rod 20 has a middle position provided with an enlarged collar 21 located between the two poles 10 and pressing the inner wall 11 of the respective pole 10.

Each of the two pressing caps 23 is mounted on a respective one of the two protruding blocks 22 of the connecting rod 20 and is located between the respective protruding block 22 of the connecting rod 20 and the respective pole 10. Each of the two pressing caps 23 has an inner wall provided with an inner threaded portion 232 screwed onto the outer threaded portion 221 of the respective protruding block 22. The inner wall of each of the two pressing caps 23 is provided with a through hole 231 to limit the stop flange 222 of the respective protruding block 22. The through hole 231 of each of the two pressing caps 23 extends through a whole length of each of the two pressing caps 23 and has a diameter smaller than that of the stop flange 222 of the respective protruding block 22. Each of the two pressing caps 23 has an outer wall 230 pressing the inner wall 11 of the respective pole 10. The outer wall 230 of each of the two pressing caps 23 is provided with a plurality of pressing ribs 234 pressing the inner wall 11 of the respective pole 10. Each of the two pressing caps 23 has a peripheral wall provided with an axially extending slit 233 which extends through a whole thickness of each of the two pressing caps 23 to make each of the two pressing caps 23 flexible so that each of the two pressing caps 23 is expandable radially and outwardly toward the respective pole 10.

In assembly, referring to FIGS. 4 and 5 with reference to FIGS. 1-3, each of the two protruding blocks 22 of the connecting rod 20 is initially inserted into a respective one of the two poles 10 as shown in FIG. 3. At this time, the outer wall 230 of each of the two pressing caps 23 slightly contacts the inner wall 11 of the respective pole 10. Then, the connecting rod 20 is rotated relative to each of the two poles 10 as shown in FIG. 4 so that the outer threaded portion 221 of each of the two protruding blocks 22 is further screwed into the inner threaded portion 232 of the respective pressing cap 23 to push and expand the respective pressing cap 23 radially and outwardly to press the respective pole 10 by provision of the slit 233. In such a manner, each of the two pressing caps 23 is screwed onto the respective protruding block 22 of the connecting rod 20, and the outer wall 230 of each of the two pressing caps 23 presses the inner wall 11 of the respective pole 10 as shown in FIG. 5, so that each of the two pressing caps 23 is locked between the respective protruding block 22 of the connecting rod 20 and the respective pole 10 solidly and stably. At this time, each of the two pressing caps 23 is provided with a plurality of pressing ribs 234 pressing the inner wall 11 of the respective pole 10 so that each of the two pressing caps 23 presses the inner wall 11 of the respective pole 10 closely and tightly. Thus, the connecting rod 20 is forcibly fitted between the two poles 10 so that the connecting rod 20 and the two poles 10 are combined together to construct the curtain pole assembly as shown in FIG. 6.

Accordingly, the two poles 10 and the connecting rod 20 are detached before assembly so as to decrease the cost in packaging, storage and transportation of the curtain pole assembly. In addition, the connecting rod 20 and the two poles 10 are combined together to construct the curtain pole assembly so that the curtain pole assembly is assembled easily and quickly, thereby facilitating a user assembling the curtain pole assembly. Further, each of the two pressing caps 23 is locked between the respective protruding block 22 of the connecting rod 20 and the respective pole 10 so that the connecting rod 20 and the two poles 10 are combined solidly and stably to prevent the connecting rod 20 from being detached from the two poles 10. Further, the connecting rod 20 is inserted between the two poles 10 to support the two poles 10 evenly and smoothly to enhance the structural strength of the curtain pole assembly.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
