Air ground vehicle and air transit-way system

The invention is an electric vehicle that gets electricity by two means. The vehicle powers its electric motor to travel roads by onboard batteries. For longer range the vehicle powers its electric motor while charging onboard batteries by tethering to a special rail system. The vehicle is equipped with two drive wheels to apply rotary torque against different surfaces. The vehicles' first drive wheel applies rotary torque against a road surface. The second drive wheel is above vehicles' roof line that mounts from a swing-arm, wheel applies rotary torque against special rail surface when vehicle is tethered. The rail is a system of tracks and transitions designed to suspend and guide vehicles above ground while providing electricity and a surface to accept vehicles' rotary torque for propulsion. The track has multiple conductor strips fed from multiple electrical branch circuits that balance and accepts loads from several vehicles.

Description

The “AIR GROUND VEHICLE and AIR TRANSIT-WAY SYSTEM” is comprised of two apparatuses:

1. Air Ground Vehicle—A passenger vehicle using an electric motor for propulsion. This vehicle is design to receive the electrical power in two ways. The first way is on-board batteries. With this type of rechargeable power (battery power) the vehicle has the “electro motive force” to convert to mechanical power for providing rotary torque to the “ground drive wheel” of the vehicle, so it may travel on existing roads and streets.

The second means of powering the vehicle's on-board motor is to tether the vehicle to the “AIR TRANSIT-WAY SYSTEM's” electrical conductors This will provide the vehicle “electro motive force” to convert to mechanical power for rotary drive torque to the “upper drive wheel” of the vehicle, making it possible to propel its self over a system of special bridges.

2. AIR TRANSIT-WAY SYSTEM—This system is comprised of guidance tracks elevated above the ground and held in place by suspending it from continuous suspension bridges.

The guidance track will be constructed of solid material and shaped to have an “internal chamber” which will extend the complete length of the track. Inside the internal chamber of the guidance track will seat a freewheeling dolly called the “guidance dolly” which has the ability to coast the entire length of the track.

The guidance track shall have a slotted opening its entire length to allow the dolly to extend its mechanical rigging arms outside the track's chamber to attach to the vehicle's top side. This will allow the dolly to lift, guild, and support the vehicle along the parallel length of the guidance track. Torque for propulsion shall be applied by the vehicle's upper drive wheel against the guidance track.

To conduct electrical energy to the vehicle: installed with-in the guidance track's “internal chamber” will be electrically energized conductor strips running the length of the track. This will make contact with vehicle's power distribution system during AIR TRANSIT-WAY USE.

The guidance dolly will allow the air ground vehicle to navigate the air transit-way system by steering a motorized rudder that can follow a fixed mechanical division In guidance track.

Sheet A101 thru A104 illustrate how the Guidance tracks would be supported above the ground using brides, bents and approaches to give the “AIR GROUND VEHICLE” a plat-form to travel

Sheet A105 demonstrate how the vehicle is mechanically mounted to the guidance dolly

    • and is supported to move parallel with the track.

Sheet A106 and A108 illustrate the use of an Electric Motor assembly attached to vehicles drive shaft that directs the rotary torque to ether; an upper drive wheel or a ground drive wheel.

Sheets A109 illustrates the placement of the drive shaft and gear components that would deliver the torque to either the “ground pavement” or the “guidance track surface” for propulsion,

Sheet A110 illustrates how the air ground vehicle is attached to the dolly that is located in the internal chamber of the guidance track and is completely able to support the weight of the vehicle as it coast the vehicle parallel with the guidance track.

Claims

1. The AIR GROUND VEHICLE and AIR TRANSIT-WAY SYSTEM is comprised of vehicles which will be constructed to have two individual “drive wheels” mounted by two individual “drive shaft” powered by one common power train. One drive wheel is supported by a swing arm assembly mounted in the back of vehicle to extend the “drive wheel” out the top side of vehicle” and the second drive wheel is mounted under body of vehicle.

Utilizing an electric motor that produces rotary force, the vehicle's transmission assembly can direct the rotary force to “drivers” choice: drive wheel on the ground to propel the vehicle on standard streets, roads, and Highways. Or, direct the rotary force to the upper drive wheel to apply force against the guidance track which will propel the vehicle over a system of special bridges.
The “Air Transit-Way System” is a construction of “continuous bridges” and “guidance tracks” to support the AIR GROUND VEHICLE′S travel. It will offer the ability to power and charge electrically the “Air Ground Vehicle's motor and battery system” while in travel. Some benefits of the Air Transit-way System will be the use of voltage out of reach of hazardous contact, the construction of tracks over landscaping reducing construction cost, and the great plat-form for utilizing solar power as one of its sources.
The Air Transit-way guidance track shall posses the sole strength to hoist the vehicle from the ground and maintain vehicle's travel over the length of the suspension bridges.
