Vacuum-Toilet Arrangement for a Railroad Passenger Car

A vacuum-toilet arrangement for a passenger car of a railroad vehicle is provided. The arrangement includes two WC cubicles which are connected to a joint vacuum unit.

Description
FIELD OF INVENTION

The invention relates to a vacuum-toilet arrangement with two WC cubicles for a railroad passenger car.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

It is known for two WC cubicles to be installed in a railroad passenger car in order for the needs of the passengers to be met. It is always the case here that a completely separate vacuum unit is provided for each WC cubicle. Each vacuum unit has an intermediate tank, which is connected to a WC bowl of the WC cubicle via a suction-extraction line with an inlet valve. In addition, a water connection, a pressure connection, an electrical connection and a sewage connection are provided for the vacuum unit of each WC cubicle.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

It is an object of the invention to propose a vacuum-toilet arrangement with two WC cubicles which is intended for a railroad passenger car and can be produced in a comparatively cost-effective manner.

In order to achieve this object, in the case of vacuum-toilet arrangements of the type mentioned in the introduction, the two WC cubicles are connected, according to the invention, to a joint vacuum unit.

A significant advantage of the vacuum-toilet arrangement according to the invention can be seen in the fact that only a joint vacuum unit is necessary for two WC cubicles, which considerably reduces the production costs.

It is particularly advantageous here if the two WC cubicles are arranged in the vicinity of one another, because in this case only relatively short lines are necessary between the joint vacuum unit and the two WC cubicles.

In the case of the vacuum-toilet arrangement according to the invention, the joint vacuum unit advantageously has a single intermediate tank, which is connected to the WC bowls of the two WC cubicles via a respective suction-extraction line with an inlet valve.

Furthermore, it is considered to be advantageous if a respective flushing line leads from the joint vacuum unit to the WC bowls.

The joint vacuum unit advantageously makes it possible, furthermore, for this unit to be provided with a single water connection, a single sewage connection, a single pressure connection and a single electrical connection.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

In order to explain the invention further, the FIGURE illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the vacuum-toilet arrangement according to the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

As the FIGURE shows in detail, the vacuum-toilet arrangement according to the invention comprises a first WC cubicle 1, a further WC cubicle 2 and a vacuum unit 3, which is arranged, in spatial terms, between the two WC cubicles 1 and 2 to form a compact vacuum-toilet arrangement, so that short lines suffice. However, it is also possible, in principle, for the vacuum unit 3 to be arranged beneath one of the WC cubicles 1 or 2 or beneath both WC cubicles.

Each WC cubicle 1, 2 is provided with a respective WC bowl 4, 5, these bowls being connected to an intermediate tank 10 (only illustrated schematically in the FIGURE) via a respective suction-extraction line 6, 7 with a respective inlet valve 8, 9. The intermediate tank 10, moreover, is connected to a sewage connection 12 via an inlet valve 11.

The FIGURE further illustrates, merely schematically, that flushing lines 13 and 14 lead from the vacuum unit 3 to the respective WC bowls 4 and 5.

6. A vacuum-toilet arrangement, comprising:

two WC cubicles for a passenger car of a railroad vehicle; and
a joint vacuum unit,
wherein the two WC cubicles are connected to the joint vacuum unit.

7. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 6, wherein the two WC cubicles are arranged in the vicinity of one another.

8. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 6, wherein the joint vacuum unit has a single intermediate tank, which is connected to WC bowls of the two WC cubicles via a respective suction-extraction line with an inlet valve.

9. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 7, wherein the joint vacuum unit has a single intermediate tank, which is connected to WC bowls of the two WC cubicles via a respective suction-extraction line with an inlet valve.

10. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 6, wherein a respective flushing line leads from the vacuum unit to the WC bowls.

11. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 6, wherein the joint vacuum unit includes a single water connection.

12. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 6, wherein the joint vacuum unit includes a single sewage connection.

13. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 6, wherein the joint vacuum unit includes a single pressure connection.

14. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 6, wherein the joint vacuum unit includes a single electrical connection.

15. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 8, wherein the joint vacuum unit includes a single water connection, a single sewage connection, a single pressure connection and a single electrical connection.

16. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 9, wherein the joint vacuum unit includes a single water connection, a single sewage connection, a single pressure connection and a single electrical connection.

17. The vacuum-toilet arrangement as claimed in claim 10, wherein the joint vacuum unit includes a single water connection, a single sewage connection, a single pressure connection and a single electrical connection.
