This application claims priority from Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 61/483,818 filed May 9, 2011.
BACKGROUNDDuring the summertime, children and adults spend a lot of their free time in a swimming pool, lake or other recreational water area. Swimming pool games and swimming pool toys are very popular. However, people are always looking for new and exciting pool games and activities to play. Using the same swimming pool toys and swimming pool floats over and over again can be repetitive, and the toys and floats can lose their appeal over time. An effective solution with the ability to expand over time is necessary.
There is a need for a novelty float device that can be used in a swimming pool, lake or other recreational water area during the summer. The present invention discloses a float device that comprises an upper portion of a shark's body with the shark's mouth in the open position. The open mouth of the shark extends above the surface of the water in the preferred embodiment. Users can feed the shark by throwing various floating sea creature water toys into the shark's mouth or users can jump or dive into the shark's mouth to work on their accuracy and form.
SUMMARYThe following presents a simplified summary in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one aspect thereof, comprises a novelty float device or pool float device designed for use in a swimming pool, lake or other water recreational area. The novelty float device comprises an upper portion of a shark's body, wherein the shark's body also comprises a mouth. The mouth of the shark's body is typically in an open position, and extends above the surface of the water in the preferred embodiment.
Furthermore in the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the novelty float device further comprises sea creature water toys that are accessories to the novelty float device. The sea creature water toys are smaller toys or other suitable articles that can be fed to/thrown into the mouth of the shark body. The sea creature water toys are designed to resemble sea creatures, such as fish, turtles, squids, seals, lobsters, etc. Typically, the upper portion of the shark's body is buoyant and sturdy enough so that a user can jump or dive through the shark's mouth, or users can feed the shark by throwing the sea creature water toys through the shark's mouth.
To the accomplishment of the foregoing and related ends, certain illustrative aspects of the disclosed innovation are described herein in connection with the following description and the annexed drawings. These aspects are indicative, however, of but a few of the various ways in which the principles disclosed herein can be employed and is intended to include all such aspects and their equivalents. Other advantages and novel features will become apparent from the following detailed description when considered in conjunction with the drawings.
The innovation is now described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding thereof. It may be evident, however, that the innovation can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form in order to facilitate a description thereof.
The present invention discloses a novelty float device that is designed for use in a swimming pool or other water recreational area. The novelty float device can be used by both adults and children in the swimming pool or other water recreational area during the summer months. The novelty float device is manufactured to resemble a shark and is preferably realistically colored with white teeth, pinkish/reddish gums, black and shiny eyes, and gray and white skin. The float device is shaped with the shark's mouth wide open, extending above the surface of the water and a dorsal fin that also extends above the surface of the water. Users can feed the shark by throwing various floating sea creature water toys into the shark's mouth as a game of skill or users can jump or dive into the shark's mouth to work on their accuracy and form.
Referring initially to the drawings,
As shown in
What has been described above includes examples of the claimed subject matter. It is, of course, not possible to describe every conceivable combination of components or methodologies for purposes of describing the claimed subject matter, but one of ordinary skill in the art may recognize that many further combinations and permutations of the claimed subject matter are possible. Accordingly, the claimed subject matter is intended to embrace all such alterations, modifications and variations that fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Furthermore, to the extent that the term “includes” is used in either the detailed description or the claims, such term is intended to be inclusive in a manner similar to the term “comprising” as “comprising” is interpreted when employed as a transitional word in a claim.
