Armpit adhesive patch with perspiration absorbing pad

This invention is an adhesive patch with sweat absorbing pad for the armpit area that can adhere directly to skin. It consists of a thin vinyl patch with adhesive applied on one side and sweat absorbing pad in the center location on the same side. It can hold the perspiration and protect the garment. It also can be easily disposed after use. It is like adhesive bandage but much bigger in size and for the armpit sweat.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to underarm protection and garment protection in the course of underarm perspiration. Specifically, the system is used for both reducing the effects on clothes of absorbed perspiration and guarding the outer garment from unsightly stains of perspiration and stains caused by deodorant and perspiration leakage that builds up on the shirt around the area of the armpit.

2. Prior Art

U.S. Design Pat. No. Des. 417,333 to Re shows a pocket for attachment at about the rib cage region (under the arm) of a sleeveless undershirt and is designed for the pocket to serve as a harness for carrying a holster, handcuff or other mechanical instrument.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,832,536 to Kramer shows an undergarment with an integrally stitched pocket at about the rib cage region beneath the arm to be used as a holster and to secure the weapon in a concealed fashion adjacent the body and ready for use.

U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2004/0083529 to Tate describes a moisture-absorbing fitness or work out garment with protective pockets designed for the containment of valued items. The garment includes waterproofing materials and sown side pockets that serve to hold a towel, keys, or other valued item.

U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2004/0098783 to Parson, describes an absorption device using excess cloth fastened to lingerie. These sleeves form folds of sleeve material under the armpits that absorb perspiration and prevent staining the outer garment. Attached to lingerie, the sleeves have bights formed in the sleeve material. These bights prevent the sleeve material from gathering, or bundling, as the lingerie shoulder straps are adjusted to adapt to the wearer's physique, thereby establishing a smooth transition from the sleeves to the lingerie that avoids forming unsightly humps in the outer garment surface. When the sleeves are used with a body shirt, a crotch strap is provided on the body shirt to stabilize the body shirt on the wearer's torso and to prevent the body shirt from “riding up” on the wearer's torso during strenuous physical activity.

U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2004/0258903 A1 to Eberle, describes a treated absorption and perspiration pad that uses adhesives to fasten to an underarm area of an upper torso garment such as a shirt, blouse, or tee shirt.

U.S. Pat. No. 6,187,989 relates to breathable absorbent articles particularly sanitary napkins, panty liners, adult incontinence products or sweat pads particularly such breathable absorbent articles which are worn by direct attachment to the skin of the wearer in the area where absorption of bodily liquids is desired.

What does not exist in the market place is an adhesive patch with sweat absorbing pad that can be attached directly to the skin to protect the garment from damaging. None of the above prior art patents and patent applications, taken individually or in combination, provides the layer of vinyl film with adhesive for desired protection.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Perspiration in armpit area is a big problem for most people, especially in hot summer day. One can ruin the shirts and be embarrassed by the wet stain under the armpit area caused by the sweat. This is especially big problem when we wear silk blouse since sweat can stain the silk fabric permanently. This invention will remove or drastically reduce the amount of wet spot. It consists of a vinyl (or similar material) film or patch with adhesive on one side and the absorbing pad in the center.

Imagine Bandage but much bigger size. It can hold the sweat and keep it in protecting the garment. One can dispose used adhesive pad and affix new one whenever needed. It will not be visible to other people since it is thin.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is one object of the present invention to provide a non-visible solution to armpit perspiration protection. Attaching the absorption pad to the garment may be visible and add bulkiness especially when garment is made of thin fabric like silk.

It is another object of the present invention to provide such a protection using not only the absorbing pad but also using film of vinyl or similar material for added protection.

It is a further another object of the present invention to provide such an adhesive absorption pad without the need of specially designed garment. Wearing specially designed garment with absorption pad underneath regular cloth will increase body heat causing more perspiration and discomfort.

It is yet a further object of the present invention to provide such an absorption adhesive patch that is disposable, so as to enable the user to discard it easily after use.

In accordance with these and other objects, the present invention provides protection for the garment with the use of vinyl film or patch. This vinyl film or patch will provide adhesive on one side and absorption pad in the center on the same side. The Adhesive will be applied only on the vinyl patch not on the sweat absorbing pad. It will adhere directly to the skin, from inner side of the arm to side of rip with absorption pad positioned around armpit area. This invention will not be visible to other people since it uses thin vinyl patch with absorption pad only under armpit area.

Although the invention has been described in terms of particular material and applications, one of ordinary skill in the art, in light of this teaching, can generate additional material and modifications without departing from the spirit of or exceeding the scope of the claimed invention. Accordingly, it is to be understood that the drawings and descriptions herein are proffered by way of example to facilitate comprehension of the invention and should not be construed to limit the scope thereof.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

As depicted in FIG. 1, this patch will adhere directly to the skin under armpit area. It shows that the Absorbing Pad is placed on one side that attaches to the skin leaving outer side clean and smooth. It will hold the perspiration inside protecting the garment.

On FIG. 2 shows Outer (A) and Inner (B) view of the patch. Materials and colors and size used for the patch (A) can vary depending on the need. It can be made with skin colored vinyl film or other material. Also, it can add film of fabric or other materials on the outside to provide better comfort. Inner (B) view of the patch which attaches to the skin consist of two parts; Adhesive (B-2) and Perspiration Absorbing Pad (B-3). Adhesive (B-2) will be sticky enough to provide secure fit but easy to remove after use. Absorbing Pad (B-3) will be made of cotton pad or equivalent material to absorb and hold the perspiration. Note that the Absorbing Pad (B-3) will not have adhesive applied.

Claims

1. A method to contain the perspiration in armpit area with the use of adhesive patch and sweat absorbing pad.

2. The invention defined in claim 1 wherein an adhesive patch can adhere to the skin with the sweat absorbing pad on the center.

3. The invention defined in claim 1 wherein said adhesive pad is made of thin vinyl, or equivalent material providing protection for the garment against perspiration.
