Sweatgaurd for headgear

A Microfiber strip 1¼″ to 1½″ wide by 12″ long 300 GSM (Microfiber having 3 times absorbancy of cotton terry, 6 times finer than a human hair, durability, and washable.) is attached to headgear by a. sandwich method on the inside band of existing headgear. The microfiber is single stitched to an elastic band 1″ to 1¼″ wide×12″ long at the top edge of the microfiber strip by one stitch providing means of seperating the lower portion as a upside down v shape. By seperating the Microfiber and the elastic band the item is placed over the existing band of such headgear. the Microfiber is then pressed against a strip of 1″ wide×12″ plastic self adhesive impenetrable hook tape that is attached to the outside edge of the existing band of the such headgear. the purpose of the plastic hook tape is to hold the bottom portion of the microfiber strip in place and also act as a barrier to help prevent the natural oils, salts, dirt, and grime from soaking through to the such headgear causing premature discoloration, and damage to such headgear.

As in relationship with Dougherty U.S. Pat. No. 5,428,844 issued Jul. 4, 1995 Removable, Advertising, Sweat-Absorbing, Cushioning, Band for Headgear. Teaches: The such invention is a padded tubular construction, with intentions for advertising with no details to the attachment to the front of such headgear.

As in relationship with Moore U.S. Pat. No. 5,553,326 issued Sep. 10, 1996 Removable, Washable, Sweatband for Hats. Teaches: The such invention has possible hat modifications required as in cutting, sewing, and glueing, to add attachment means to hats for Sweatband attachment, mentions Velcro hook and loop but nothing about overlapping, or sandwiching the existing band on such hat.

As in relationship with Calvo U.S. Pat. No. 5,920,910 issued Jul. 13, 1999 Sweatband for Sports Caps. Teaches: The such invention has a moisture absorbing material adhered directly to one non-absorbing material and attached to a second non-absorbing material at the top portion forming a channel over the existing crown of a sports hat. It does not mention how the band is held in place besides forming the channel.

As in relationship with Bae U.S. Pat. No. 6,138,280 issued Oct. 31, 2000 Sweatband for Headgear. Teaches: The such invention shows fabric strips slitted an laminated together, and sewn to said headgear at the bottom of crown.

As in relationship with Shin U.S. Pat. No. 6,477,715 issued Nov. 12, 2002 Detachable, Disposable, Sweatband. Teaches: The such invention a disposable sweatband comprised with a layer of tacky adhesive. In which is the only means of attachment.

None of the above inventions, or patents have all the prospects all in one as in my Sweatgaurd for Headgear. They all mention moisture absorbing. They are either sewn on, glued on, or have no means of stable attachment. As claimed in either their prior artwork, and disclosure.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to headgear to help protect headgear from natural body oils, salt, sweat, stains, and grime, at the same time absorb moisture from body perspiration from entering eyes, and is fully removable, and washable.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

During the course of everyday living as in going for a walk, exercising, being in the sun, etc . . . Your body perspires creating natural oils, and salts. As these oils, and salts accumuliate they can drip into your eyes causing irritation of the eyes. As for the sun protection, or just wearing a designer headgear, cowboy hat, felt hat, favorite baseball cap, etc . . . as your body perspires it tends to leave oils, stains, grime, to the existing headband of the headgear.

Most headgear is not washable. Protecting your favorite head gear becomes a problem when fighting your bodys natural way of cooling down.

Other sweatbands are in existance providing simular results:

Sweatbands with channel over crown portion of such headgear.

Disposable sweatbands in which are stuck onto such head gear by means of adhesives.

Sewn on sweatbands for headgear.

Sweatbands with channel over crown portion of such headgear is a good idea but tend not to have a means to hold such sweatband in place from movement.

Disposable sweatbands for headgear is a good idea but as for sticking to such head gear as the adhesive is short coming, and tends to not stick very well to felt, cowboyhats, etc . . . they are also one time use not washable in this time of recycling.

The other type of solution is the sewn on sweatband. requiring a such person to attach sweatband by means of sewing sweatband to headgear. Not very easy, or practical to the average consumer.

The object of such invention is to help prevent natural body oils, salt , dirt, and grime, and other means from staining, and damaging such headgear.

Used as a sweatband to help absorb perspiration and help prevent natural body oils, salts, dirt, and grime from entering your eyes.

A durable, removable, washable, highly absorbant, comfortable, (6 times finer than a human hair) sweatband for headgear.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A Microfiber strip 1¼″ to 1½″ wide by 12″ long 300 GSM (Microfiber having 3 times absorbancy of cotton terry, 6 times finer than a human hair, durability, and washable.) is attached to headgear by a sandwich method on the inside band of existing headgear. The microfiber is single stitched to an elastic band 1″ to 1¼″ wide×12″ long at the top edge of the microfiber strip by one stitch providing means of seperating the lower portion as a upside down v shape. By seperating the Microfiber and the elastic band the item is placed over the existing band of such headgear. the Microfiber is then pressed against a strip of 1″ wide×12″ plastic self adhesive impenetrable hook tape that is attached to the outside edge of the existing band of the such headgear. the purpose of the plastic hook tape is to hold the bottom portion of the microfiber strip in place and also act as a barrier to help prevent the natural oils, salts, dirt, and grime from soaking through to the such headgear causing premature discoloration, and damage to such headgear.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

FIG. 1 is a perspective bottom view of a viewing from the bottom of such headgear, Showing the pieces of the sweatband, 1 microfiber strip is attached to, 4 plastic self adhesive hook tape, adhered to 5 existing headgear band, and 6 such headgear.

FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view of a viewing as invention is attached to such headgear. Showing how the pieces of sweatband 1 microfiber strip is pressed against hooks, 4 plastic self adhesive backed hook tape, adhered to, 5 existing headgear band, 3 stitching 3 attaching, 1 microfiber strip to, 2 strip of elastic banding overlapping, and sandwiching, 5 existing headgear band, and 6 such headgear.

Since other modifications and changes varied to fit particular operating requirements and environments will be apparent to those skilled in the art, the invention is not considered limited to the example chosen for purposes of disclosure, and covers all changes and modifications which do not constitute departures from the true spirit and scope of this invention.

Claims

1. A sweatgaurd for headgear for protect headgear, and is used as a sweatband to absorb moisture from body perspiration comprising:

means for a strip of microfiber material;
means for a microfiber strip to absorb oils, dirt, grime, and moisture;
means for to add strength, and support for the microfiber material, also to help hold the sweatband to the existing headgear band by sandwiching the the band of such headgear between the microfiber strip and the elastic banding;
means for stitching attaching the microfiber strip to the strip of elastic banding, rigidly connected to said means for to add strength, and support for the microfiber material, also to help hold the sweatband to the existing headgear band by sandwiching the the band of such headgear between the microfiber strip and the elastic banding, and rigidly connected to said means for a microfiber strip to absorb oils, dirt, grime, and moisture;
means for help hold the microfiber strip in place on the lower portion of headgear, and act as a impenetrable barrier between the microfiber strip and the existing headgear band to help prevent the natural body oils, salts, dirt, and grime, from staining, and attaching to such headgear, rigidly connected to said means for a microfiber strip to absorb oils, dirt, grime, and moisture; and
means for such sample of headgear with existing band to which sweatband is attached to protect. by sandwiching between microfiber strip, plastic self adhesive. backed hook tape, and elastic banding.

2. The sweatgaurd for headgear in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for a strip of microfiber material comprises a New Attribute 1 FIG. 4.

3. The sweatgaurd for headgear in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for a microfiber strip to absorb oils, dirt, grime, and moisture. comprises a New Attribute 1, New Attribute 2, New Attribute 3, New Attribute 4 a strip of microfiber material.

The sweatgaurd for headgear in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for to add strength, and support for the microfiber material, also to help hold the sweatband to the existing headgear band by sandwiching the the band of such headgear between the microfiber strip and the elastic banding. comprises a New Attribute 2, New Attribute 1, New Attribute 3, New Attribute 4 a strip of elastic banding.

5. The sweatgaurd for headgear in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for stitching attaching the microfiber strip to the strip of elastic banding comprises a New Attribute 3, New Attribute 2, New Attribute 1, New Attribute 4 stitching.

The sweatgaurd for headgear in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for help hold the microfiber strip in place on the lower portion of headgear, and act as a impenetrable barrier between the microfiber strip and the existing headgear band to help prevent the natural body oils, salts, dirt, and grime, from staining, and attaching to such headgear. comprises a New Attribute 2, New Attribute 3, New Attribute 4, New Attribute 1 plastic imprenetrable self adhesive backed hook tape.

The sweatgaurd for headgear in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for such sample of headgear with existing band to which sweatband is attached to protect. by sandwiching between microfiber strip, plastic self adhesive. backed hook tape, and elastic banding comprises an existing band of such headgear.

8. A sweatgaurd for headgear for protect headgear, and is used as a sweatband to absorb moisture from body perspiration comprising:

a New Attribute 1 FIG. 4, for a strip of microfiber material;
a New Attribute 1, New Attribute 2, New Attribute 3, New Attribute 4 a strip of microfiber material, for a microfiber strip to absorb oils, dirt, grime, and moisture;
a New Attribute 2, New Attribute 1, New Attribute 3, New Attribute 4 a strip of elastic banding, for to add strength, and support for the microfiber material, also to help hold the sweatband to the existing headgear band by sandwiching the the band of such headgear between the microfiber strip and the elastic banding;
a New Attribute 3, New Attribute 2, New Attribute 1, New Attribute 4 stitching, for stitching attaching the microfiber strip to the strip of elastic banding, rigidly connected to said A strip of elastic banding, and rigidly connected to said A strip of microfiber material;
a New Attribute 2, New Attribute 3, New Attribute 4, New Attribute 1 plastic imprenetrable self adhesive backed hook tape, for help hold the microfiber strip in place on the lower portion of headgear, and act as a impenetrable barrier between the microfiber strip and the existing headgear band to help prevent the natural body oils, salts, dirt, and grime, from staining, and attaching to such headgear, rigidly connected to said A strip of microfiber material; and
an existing band of such headgear, for such sample of headgear with existing band to which sweatband is attached to protect. by sandwiching between microfiber strip, plastic self adhesive. backed hook tape, and elastic banding.

9. A sweatgaurd for headgear for protect headgear, and is used as a sweatband to absorb moisture from body perspiration comprising:

a New Attribute 1 FIG. 4, for a strip of microfiber material;
a New Attribute 1, New Attribute 2, New Attribute 3, New Attribute 4 a strip of microfiber material, for a microfiber strip to absorb oils, dirt, grime, and moisture;
a New Attribute 2, New Attribute 1, New Attribute 3, New Attribute 4 a strip of elastic banding, for to add strength, and support for the microfiber material, also to help hold the sweatband to the existing headgear band by sandwiching the the band of such headgear between the microfiber strip and the elastic banding;
a New Attribute 3, New Attribute 2, New Attribute 1, New Attribute 4 stitching, for stitching attaching the microfiber strip to the strip of elastic banding, rigidly connected to said A strip of elastic banding, and rigidly connected to said A strip of microfiber material;
a New Attribute 2, New Attribute 3, New Attribute 4, New Attribute 1 plastic imprenetrable self adhesive backed hook tape, for help hold the microfiber strip in place on the lower portion of headgear, and act as a impenetrable barrier between the microfiber strip and the existing headgear band to help prevent the natural body oils, salts, dirt, and grime, from staining, and attaching to such headgear, rigidly connected to said A strip of microfiber material; and
an existing band of such headgear, for such sample of headgear with existing band to which sweatband is attached to protect. by sandwiching between microfiber strip, plastic self adhesive. backed hook tape, and elastic banding.
