Article of jewelry or accessory
An article of jewelry or accessory has a holding element; a hollow transparent element, held by said holding element and bounding an inner space, and at least one decorative element located inside said space and connected to said holding element so that it is visible through said transparent element and vibrates in response to a movement of the article of jewelry.
The present invention relates to articles of jewelry or accessory for example rings, pendants, bracelets, etc.
Articles of jewelry or accessory of the above-mentioned general type are known in the art. A known article of jewelry or accessory usually includes a holding element which is placed on a part of a user's body (a finger, a wrist, a neck, etc.) and a precious, semi-precious, or another aesthetically attractive element which is held by the holding element.
It is believed that the existing articles of jewelry or accessory can be further improved.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIt is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an article of jewelry or accessory, which is a further improvement of the existing articles of jewelry.
In keeping with these objects, an article of jewelry or accessory is proposed which has a holding element; a hollow transparent element held by said holding element and bounding an inner space; and at least one decorative element located inside said space and connected to said holding element so that it is visible through said transparent element and vibrates in response to a movement of the article of jewelry.
Another feature of the present invention resides in that the article of jewelry or accessory has a plurality of said decorative elements located adjacent to one another in said space, visible through said transparent element and vibrating in response to under the action of movement of the article of jewelry.
Another feature of the present invention is that the article of jewelry or accessory has connecting means for connecting said at least one decorative element with said holding element so that said at least one decorative element vibrates under the action of movement of the article of jewelry.
The connecting means can be formed in accordance with the invention so that so that said decorative element vibrates 3-dimensionally under the action of movement of the article of jewelry.
In particular the connecting means of the inventive article of jewelry or accessory can include a spring having one end connected to said holding element and another end connected to said decorative element.
When the article of jewelry or accessory is designed in accordance with the present invention the decorative elements simulate the subtle wind and vibrations of an outdoor flower field by using tiny springs. These flowers on springs are designed to be very small and to be grouped together in order to be placed within, for example, a rock crystal semi-sphere small enough to be encased with a ring, pendant, bracelet, or any other various jewelry and/or personal accessories. All parts can be made from various metals but due to the objects minuscule size, it is mostly handcrafted and precision welded with a laser and torch. The springs themselves are designed in manner which makes them to be able to be sensitive enough to pick up minute movements yet strong enough to support top parts. The invention provides a kinetically active decorative element to compliment personal accessories.
The novel features which are considered as characteristic for the present invention are set forth in particular in the appended claims. The invention itself, however, both as to its construction and its method of operation, together with additional objects and advantages thereof, will be best understood from the following description of specific embodiments when read in connection with the accompanying drawings.
An article of jewelry or accessory in accordance with the present invention is identified as a whole with reference numeral 1.
It has a holding element 12 to be placed on a part of human body (on a finger, a wrist, a neck, etc.) and in the shown embodiment is formed as a ring, composed for example of metal.
A transport element 8 is held in the holding element 12 by known means, for example by tightly embracing the lower edges of it. The transparent element 8 can be composed, for example of rock crystal and can have, for example, a substantially semi-spherical shape bounding a hollow inner space.
At least one decorative element and preferably a plurality of the decorative elements 10 are located inside the hollow inner space of the transparent element 8. They are visible through it. They are connected with the holding element 12, so that when the article even slightly moves, the decorative elements 10 vibrate, by moving 3-dimensionally inside the transparent element 8.
A connecting element 18 connects an upper part 14 of the decorative element, formed for example as a flower top, to the holding element 12. The connecting element has an upper end formed for example as a loop 16 and connected to the part 14, and a lower end formed for example as a loop 20 and connected to the holding element 12. The connection can be carried out for example by soldering, welding, etc.
The connecting element 18 is formed as a spring, which ensures the 3-dimensional vibration of the decorative element in response to even a slightest movement of the article of jewelry or accessory in accordance with the present invention. The spring is preferably formed of a substantially flat wound ribbon.
It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together, may also find a useful application in other types of constructions differing from the type described above.
While the invention has been illustrated and described as embodied in an article of jewelry or accessory, it is not intended to be limited to the details shown, since various modifications and structural changes may be made without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
Without further analysis, the foregoing will so fully reveal the gist of the present invention that others can, be applying current knowledge, readily adapt it for various applications without omitting features that, from the standpoint of prior art, fairly constitute essential characteristics of the generic or specific aspects of this invention.
Claims
1. An article of jewelry or accessory, comprising a holding element; a hollow transparent element; held by said holding element and bounding an inner space; and at least one decorative element located inside said space and connected to said holding element so that it is visible through said transparent element and vibrates in response to a movement of the article of jewelry.
2. An article as defined in claim 1; further comprising a plurality of said decorative elements located adjacent to one another in said space, visible through said transparent element and vibrating in response to a movement of the article of jewelry.
3. An article as defined in claim 1; further comprising connecting means for connecting said at least one decorative element with said holding element so that said at least one decorative element vibrates under the action of movement of the article of jewelry.
4. An article as defined in claim 3, wherein said connecting means is formed so that said decorative element vibrates 3-dimensionally under the action of movement of the article of jewelry.
5. An article as defined in claim 4, wherein said connecting means includes a spring having one end connected to said holding element and another end connected to said decorative element.
6. An article as defined in claim 5, wherein said spring is composed of a substantially flat wound ribbon.
7. An article as defined in claim 1, wherein said decorative element is formed as a flower.
8. An article as defined in claim 1, wherein said hollow transparent element is composed of a rock crystal.
9. An article as defined in claim 1, wherein said hollow transparent element has a substantially semi-spherical shape.
