CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims priority to German Patent Application No. 10 2011 109 080.4, entitled “Revolving Deck Element for a Construction Machine,” filed Jul. 27, 2011, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety for all purposes.

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present disclosure relates to a revolving deck element for a construction machine, in particular for a mobile excavator, as well as to a construction machine, in particular to a mobile excavator.

BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY

With construction machines which have an undercarriage which bears a chassis and which have a superstructure pivotally connected to the undercarriage, it is customary that the construction machines differ in the manner of the traveling gear used. It is in particular possible that the undercarriage carries a traveling gear which can be designed, for example, as a simple wheel traveling gear or also as a tracked traveling gear. The superstructure of the construction machine is pivotally connected, for example rotatably, to this undercarriage carrying the traveling gear.

The superstructure in this respect substantially comprises a revolving deck on whose upper side and on the side walls disposed to the side in the direction of travel, in particular the side wall disposed at the right, possibly all modules of the superstructure are arranged at standardized interfaces.

It is currently known from the prior art how to manufacture the revolving decks as an individual job, depending on the construction machine type. In this respect, the assembly of the revolving deck takes place at a separate fixed workplace, depending on the construction machine type. A further disadvantage is that an optimization of the clippings of the material required for the revolving deck is not possible over different units.

It is therefore the object of the present disclosure to further develop a revolving deck of the initially named kind in an advantageous manner, in particular such that a revolving deck for a construction machine can be manufactured less expensively and more flexibly.

This object is satisfied in accordance with the present disclosure by a revolving deck for a construction machine where provision is accordingly made that a revolving deck element has a base body, wherein the base body substantially comprises a base plate and two main webs aligned to the longitudinal vehicle axis, wherein the main webs are arranged on the base plate and are fixed at a position defined by the work equipment width and the operator workplace width by transverse webs.

The construction machine can in particular be a mobile excavator.

It becomes possible by this design of a revolving deck element to be able to provide a predefined structure for a revolving deck element for a construction machine which can be used across production series. A simple and simultaneously stable structure is possible by the design by a base body, main webs and transverse webs. The revolving deck element can in particular always be made the same, in particular in a plurality of production series, for example in all production series of a construction machine type, in particular with mobile excavators. The advantage hereby results that a revolving deck for a construction machine can be manufactured and treated less expensively in production and assembly. A greater flexibility in production logistics furthermore results.

Provision can furthermore be made that the revolving deck element is of modular design and/or is designed as a standard component.

It is possible that the revolving deck element has at least one interface by which the revolving deck element can be connected to at least one optionally selectable side part module of the construction machine. Such optionally selectable side modules can, for example, be the side part module construction or the side part module LH on which in particular hydraulic elevated portions and tilt apparatus can be mounted.

It is further conceivable that the main webs are arranged substantially perpendicular to the base plate.

Provision can furthermore be made that the revolving deck element has at least one interface by which the revolving deck element can be connected to at least one component of the superstructure of the construction machine. In this respect, it can be a standardized interface.

Provision is further made that the component of the superstructure is and/or includes an operator workplace, a hydraulic tank, a fuel tank, a climbing box, a drive module, a ballast weight and/or a control slide valve console.

It is furthermore conceivable that the base plate, the main webs and/or the transverse webs are at least partly releasably connected to one another, in particular releasably screwed or releasably bolted.

It is furthermore possible that the base plate, the main webs and/or the transverse webs are at least partly non-releasably connected to one another, in particular welded to one another.

It is moreover possible that the base body has an at least partly cage-like and/or at least partly box-like structure, with the bounding elements of the structure in particular being the base plate, the main webs and/or the cross-webs.

Provision can furthermore be made that the main webs are formed at least partly trapezoidally.

The present disclosure furthermore relates to a construction machine. Provision is accordingly made that a construction machine, in particular a mobile excavator, has at least one revolving deck element as described above and below herein.

Further details and advantages of the present disclosure will now be explained with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

FIG. 1 shows, in a perspective exploded view, the modules of a superstructure of a construction machine, here a mobile excavator.

The superstructure of the mobile excavator in this respect itself substantially comprises a revolving deck 10 on whose upper side and on whose side wall disposed at the right in the direction of travel all modules of the superstructure are arranged at standardized interfaces. The modules of the superstructure comprise the revolving deck 10 on which the operator workplace 20 is arranged. The operator workplace 20 in a mobile excavator substantially comprises an operator's cabin 21 and a control unit 22. In a construction machine designed as a transfer unit, this operator workplace 20 is optionally supplemented by rigid elevated portions 23, hydraulic elevated portions 24 and tilting apparatus 25.

The hydraulic tank 30, the fuel tank 40 and the climbing box 50 are likewise fastened to the upper side or to the side wall of the revolving deck 10 disposed at the right in the direction of travel. In this respect, the fuel tank 40 can be designed in different embodiments with respect to the fuel volumes. The drive module 60 is likewise fastened to the upper side or to the side wall of the revolving deck 10 disposed at the right in the direction of travel.

The drive module 60 can include either one of an internal combustion engine, an electric motor or a fuel cell with batteries. It is also conceivable that both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor and/or a fuel cell with batteries are provided as a hybrid concept.

The ballast weight 70 is likewise attached to the upper side of the revolving deck 10.

The ballast weights can now be replaced across different types of units due to the harmonization of the superstructure width and height and the payload behavior of the machine can thus be varied very easily.

A control slide valve console 80 is furthermore provided which includes the total valve arrangement. The control slide valve console 80 is likewise fastened to the upper side or to the side wall of the revolving deck 10 disposed at the right in the direction of travel.

FIG. 2 shows the aforesaid components of the superstructure of the construction machine in a further perspective view.

FIG. 3 furthermore shows a plan view of the revolving deck 10 from which the arrangement of the operator workplace 20, the hydraulic tank 30, the fuel tank 40, the climbing box 50, the drive module 60, the ballast weight 70 and the control slide valve console 80 can be seen.

As can further be seen in detail from FIG. 4, the revolving deck is designed as a central module which is reduced as much as possible to a compact base body 100. This compact base body 100 essentially comprises a base plate 101 and two main webs 102 aligned in the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. These main webs 102 are perpendicular to the base plate 101 and are fixed at a position defined by the work equipment width and operator workplace width by transverse webs 103. This central module 100 or the base body 100 has defined interfaces to the optionally selectable side modules, with such side modules being able to be the side part module construction 120 or the side part module LH 130 on which hydraulic elevated portions 24 and tilting apparatus 25 are mounted.

The base body 100 has an at least partly cage-like and at least partly box-like structure and shape, wherein the bounding elements of the structure are the base plate 101, the main webs 102 and the transverse webs 103. Provision is furthermore made that the main webs 102 are formed at least partly trapezoidally. In this respect, pivotal connection points for further components of the superstructure are in particular provided in the upper region and at the front part of the main webs 102.

The interfaces of the superstructure components, for example, the main superstructure components operator workplace 20, hydraulic tank 30, fuel tank 40, climbing box 50, drive module 60, ballast weight 70 and control slide valve console 80, are standardized so that these main superstructure components can be connected without problem to the revolving deck 10 across production series. The advantage hereby results of being able to use the revolving deck 10 across production series for a plurality of production series of a construction machine, whereby a reduction of the production and assembly costs results.

It is therefore now possible to be able to produce the individual modules required in connection with a revolving deck 10 independently of the job. Production can thus be carried out on demand, for example, on an incoming order. It is hereby also conceivable now, due to the now possible production across production series and due to the higher volumes resulting from this, not only to be able to produce the operator's cab mount 121 and the radiator mount 122, which together form the side part 120, as a welded assembly, but also to be able to manufacture this module less expensively in alternative processes such as steel casting or by deep drawing of individual components. It is conceivable, for example, to be able to utilize this side part 120 as a capacity utilization component on robot down times due to equipping.

The main modules of the revolving deck can conceivably be produced either in welded form or in mutually releasable form. It is furthermore possible that a combination of both production processes is used, that is, that some components of the revolving deck 10 are welded, whereas other components of the revolving deck 10 are in turn releasably connected.

In a case in which the modules of the revolving deck 10 or the standardized interfaces are welded to one another or are releasably connected, it is possible to react to any job changes still during production of the revolving deck 10 and hereby to be better able to satisfy customer wishes.

It is furthermore possible that in a case in which the modules are releasably connected, a corrosion protection by hot-dip galvanizing or simple dipping process can already be carried out before a generally required cutting processing so that the modules located in production can also be stored outdoors. This makes it possible to be able to use storage capacities to meet demand and also to be able to utilize inexpensive storage possibilities.

It is possible by the modular design of the revolving deck 10 and by the compact dimensions of the components of the revolving deck 10 to allow a space-saving and thus inexpensive transportation. It is furthermore also possible to be able to carry out inexpensive and simple intermediate storage procedures.

A further advantage due to the modular construction and due to the releasable connections of the components of the revolving deck 10 is that in the event of damage only the damaged module of the revolving deck 10 has to be replaced.

Note that the figures show various additional structural features and relative positioning that can provide various advantages in addition to those specifically identified above.
