Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates to a fixing device for a moping cloth of a flat mop, particularly to one able to vary its moping width depending on a floor area to be mopped, not only used flexibly to save time and energy, but also advancing cleaning efficiency.

2. Description of the Prior Art

Commonly, a kind of conventional mop is provided with a circular or rectangular base having plural bundles of cotton strips fastened under it to carry out cleaning. As the conventional mop is too heavy to be swept to and fro on the floor, it cannot achieve a good efficiency, nearly replaced by flat mops often seen nowadays. Another kind of conventional flat mop has a rectangular plate pivotally fixed with an end of a rod on the surface, and with a piece of moping cloth attached on the bottom by means of Velcro band. When the moping cloth gets contaminated, it can be detached and cleaned up for further cleaning. Although the flat mop can be smoothly moved to clean up with a better efficiency, it has a disadvantage as the first conventional mop does, with an unvarying surface cleaned for each moping as the width of the plate is fixed unchangeably. If a broader floor is to be cleaned up, more times of moping on the floor and cleaning the moping cloth are necessary, bothering a user definitely. In order to meet various requirements of users, manufacturers have thus prepared different molds to make diverse sizes of the plate and the moping cloth, stepping up costs of manufacturing, delivering, storing and displaying to downgrade marketing competition.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The object of this invention is to offer a fixing device for a moping cloth of a flat mop, with moping area variable to meet flexible requirements.

The primary object of the invention is that two sub-plates are movably combined with a main plate to move to and from at a same level, so as to fasten with one or more moping cloths for an enlarged moping area.

The secondary object of the invention is that two cloth boxes are fastened on the main plate at two sides of a rod respectively, so as to temporarily collect contaminated moping clothes for cleaning up later by a batch.

The main characteristics of the invention are a main plate, two cloth boxes and two sub-plates.

The main plate has a top surface and a bottom surface respectively attached with a top Velcro and a bottom Velcro. The main plate is also provided with a rod pivotally fixed at a center of the top surface, two passages formed along two lengths of the bottom surface respectively, and a sealing plate sealing each end of each passage. Cut in a lower portion of each sealing plate is a fitting entrance.

Each cloth box is provided with a bottom Velcro to correspondingly fasten with the top Velcro of the main plate beside the rod.

Each sub-plate is provided with a bottom Velcro, and two engaging feet for fitting with the passages. The bottoms of the sub-plate and the main plate are positioned at a same level so that one or more moping clothes may be fastened with both the main plate and the two sub-plates.

The sub-plate is also provided with a blocking plate, which is fixed at an inner end of each engaging foot and confined in the passage to make the engaging foot move smoothly in the passage. A projected plate is extended down in each passage near the sealing plate for stopping the blocking plate and enabling the engaging foot to move steadily.

In addition, each engaging foot has the inner end cut with a hole correspondingly engaged with a projection built on the blocking plate, so that the blocking plate may be fixed at the inner end of the engaging foot.

Each sub-plate is further provided with a pivotal base with a pivotal hole located at two outer sides respectively for pivotally combining with a fin plate. The fin plate is formed as a Z shape, provided with a top Velcro and a bottom Velcro. Bored through two sides of the fin plate is a pivotal through hole having two ends respectively corresponding to two pivotal holes of each pivotal base. The pivotal through hole is connected with the pivotal holes of the pivotal base by a pivot, so that the fin plate can be folded or unfolded for 180 degreed by means of the pivot. The bottoms of the main plate, the sub-plates and the fin plates are positioned at a same level to simultaneously fasten with plural moping cloths, with moping area further enlarged.

The fin plate can be pivotally folded upward for 180 degrees so that the Velcro on the surface of the fin plate may be fastened with that of the main plate. Then the bottom Velcro of the cloth box can be fastened with that of the fin plate.

Furthermore, plural extra plates that respectively have a top Velcro and a bottom Velcro are provided to make their top Velcros fastened with the bottoms of the fin plate, and their bottom Velcros of the extra plates may be fastened with plural moping clothes, further enlarging the moping area.
