PARTITION WALL

A partition wall according to the invention comprises at least one dividing panel (1) and at least two beams (2), wherein the dividing panel (1) is at one side attached to the first beam (2) by means of at least two hinges, the panel (1) has at the second side at least two fixing eyelets (4) and at least one handling eyelet (5). The second beam (2) is provided with at least two fixing hooks (6), so that when the dividing panel (1) is in the fixed position the fixing hooks (6) reach into the fixing eyelets (4). A part of the handling equipment of the partition wall may be a handling bar (7) having a handling hook (8) at its upper end and a protective shield (9) underneath the hook. The dividing panel (1) may be made of one compact piece or it can be made of a frame (10) and a filling (11).

Description
FIELD OF ART

The invention relates to partition walls for occasional division of interior or exterior spaces, especially multi-purpose halls (open spaces), into smaller sections.

PRIOR ART

Many technical solutions relating to the division of interior spaces into smaller sections are known.

The oldest and simplest include various types of screens, Spanish walls, curtains, drapes.

Nowadays more complicated technical solutions are known as well. There are e.g. different types of sliding panels, folding screens, sliding glass walls etc.

Known solutions comprise systems with individual parts of sliding walls moveably fitted in upper guide rails, while their bottom part is either led in lower guide rails or the lower parts are provided with wheels or the parts of sliding walls are just suspended.

There are also known sliding wall elements, which can be slid into each other or into wall niches.

The most significant disadvantage of the prior art technical solutions of partition walls is that a large space is needed to store them.

Other disadvantages include demanding manufacture, manual or technical requirements regarding the unfolding or folding process and also the high price.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The aim of the invention is to provide a partition wall that does not take up storage space and which is easy to manufacture and which offers various possibilities of dividing a space depending on the current needs.

The deficiencies of the prior technical solutions are eliminated or at least largely reduced by the partition wall according to the invention.

The partition wall according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one dividing panel and at least two beams, wherein the dividing panel is on the first side rotatably attached to the first beam by means of at least two hinges. The dividing panel has, at its other side, at least two fixing eyelets and at least one handling eyelet. The second beam is provided with at least two fixing hooks arranged so that when the dividing panel is in the fixed position the fixing hooks reach into the fixing eyelets.

A handling part of the partition wall according to the invention may be presented by a handling bar having a handling hook at its upper end and a protective shield underneath the hook, the protective shield preventing any damage of the dividing panel while it is handled.

The dividing panel may be made of one compact piece or more pieces connected together or of a frame and a filling.

The partition wall according to the invention has several significant advantages over the technical solutions known from the prior art.

There is no need for storage space. The manufacture is simple, it offers a wide range of space division. Panels being in the fixed position serve as a suspended ceiling which aesthetically complement the space.

Another advantage is provided by its easy and simple handling.

No maintenance is necessary.

The invention is further described in relation to the following drawings. The attached figures schematically show preferred embodiments of the partition wall according to the invention.

FIG. 4 schematically shows the partition panel, the intermediate positions of which are indicated by dashed lines, and the dividing position of which is indicated by solid lines.

FIG. 5 is an exemplifying embodiment of a the dividing panel made of a peripheral frame and a filling.

FIG. 6 shows a possible way of fixing the panel in a position other than the horizontal one.

DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

A specific basic example of one part of a partition wall according to the invention is illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2.

The partition wall consists of one dividing panel 1 and of two beams 2. In this particular embodiment, the dividing panel 1 is at one side attached to the first beam 2 by means of four hinges.

The other side of the dividing panel 1 is provided with two fixing eyelets 4 and one handling eyelet 5. On the second beam 2 there are two fixing hooks 6 arranged such that when the dividing panel 1 is in the fixed position the fixing hooks 6 are inserted into the fixing eyelets 4.

A handling bar 7, shown in FIG. 3, presents a handling means for the partition wall.

The handling bar is provided with a handling hook 8 at its upper end and underneath the hook there is a protective shield 9.

The dividing panel 1 is in the fixed position arranged so that the fixing hooks 6, which are firmly attached to the second beam 2, are inserted into the fixing eyelets 4 of the dividing panel 1. In this position a set of dividing panels 1 forms an interior ceiling and therefore there is no need for any storage space.

If it is necessary to divide the interior into smaller areas, the fixing sides of individual dividing panels 1 are lifted up so that the fixing eyelets 4 get above the fixing hooks 6. By applying slight pressure on the dividing panel 1 to the side and by letting it come down, the fixing side of the dividing panel 1 with fixing hooks 4 gets in a vertical position and the dividing panel 1 divides the space.

When handling the dividing panel 1 it is advantageous to use the handling bar 7 in a way that the handling hook 8 of the handling bar 7 is inserted into the handling hook 5 and with the handling bar 7 a pressure is applied upwards at first. After the fixing eyelets 4 are pulled out of the fixing hooks 6, the operator applies a pressure with the handling bar 7 in the direction of the longitudinal axes of the second beam 2, so that the fixing eyelets 4 get out of reach of the fixing hooks 6. Then the pressure of the handling bar 7 is being reduced to drop the dividing panel 1 to the vertical position, thanks to the rotatable connection via hinges 3. Intermediate positions of the dividing panel 1 while it is being put down are schematically shown in FIG. 4 using dashed lines. The final vertical position is shown using solid lines.

The partition walls are preferably arranged so that being in their fixed position the dividing panels 1 form a lower ceiling and where necessary it is possible to arrange them in the vertical position and get a divided space.

A further specific embodiment of the dividing panel 1 may be presented by a frame 10 and a filling 11, see FIG. 5. The filling may be made of fabric, Plexiglas, glass, plastics, light metals, or other e.g. natural materials.

The fixed position of the dividing panels 1 can be horizontal but according to the invention the fixed position can be other then horizontal, see, Fig. 6. The position results from the mutual height arrangement of the first beam 2 and the second beam 2.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY

The invention of the partition wall may be used for occasional division of interior or exterior spaces, especially multi-purpose halls, into smaller sections.

1. A partition wall comprising: characterized in that the dividing panel is at one side rotatably attached to the first beam by means of two hinges, while at its other side the dividing panel is provided with two fixing eyelets and a handling eyelet, wherein the second beam is provided with two fixing hooks arranged such that when the dividing panel is in the fixed position the fixing hooks are inserted into the fixing eyelets.
