DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, the slowing device for slowing scrolling speed of the belt of barrier poles of the present invention comprises a storage unit 10, a belt 2 and a slowing device 3.

The storage unit 10 is located in a case 1 on the top of the pole 4 and has a rotor 11 located therein. The rotor 11 is cooperated with a torsion spring 16 as shown in FIG. 5 so t hat the rotor 11 can be rotated backward. The rotor 11 has an axle 111 which extends into a room 12 in the storage unit 10. The room 12 is defined by a top cap 13 and a mediate part 14, wherein the top cap 13 has a disk 131 and a flange 132 extends from the underside of the disk 131. The flange 132 is inserted into the recessed area 141 of the mediate part 14 to form the room 12. The inner wall of the flange 132 of the room 12 is provided to be in contact with two braking pieces 32 of the slowing device 3 to slow the belt 2. The top cap 13 and the mediate part 14 are fixed to the top of the storage unit 10 by multiple bolts 15. The axle 111 of the rotor 11 is inserted into the central hole 142 of the mediate part 14 so as to drive the slowing device 3 in the room 12.

The belt 2 is scrolled to the rotor 11 in the storage unit 10. The hook 20 of the belt 2 is located outside of the case 1 so that the users can easily pull the belt 2 and hook the belt 2 to another storage unit 10. The rotor 11 scrolls the belt 2 backward by the torsion spring 16 when the belt 2 is released.

The slowing device 3 and the axle 111 of the rotor 11 are both located in the room 12 and the slowing device 3 has at least two braking pieces 32 and a guide member 31. The at least two braking pieces 32 are connected to two wing rods 311 of the guide member 31. The at least two braking pieces 32 each are a crescent piece. The top of the guide member 31 is pivotably connected to a first central hole 133 of the top cap 13. The guide member 31 is a circular cylindrical rod and the two wing rods 311 extend horizontally from the circular cylindrical rod of the guide member 31 in opposite directions. Each of the at least two braking pieces 32 has a connection hole 321 which is located corresponding to the wing rod 311 corresponding thereto. The wing rods 311 are connected to the connection holes 321 of the at least two braking pieces 32. Because the hexagonal rod 312 extends through the second central hole 142 of the mediate part 14, the rotor 11 has a hexagonal hole 112 defined in the axle 111, and the hexagonal rod 312 is connected to the hexagonal hole 112 of the axle 111. The axle 111 can drive the slowing device 3.

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the at least two braking pieces 32 and the guide member 31 are installed in the storage unit 10 and the at least two braking pieces 32 are slidably connected to the two wing rods 311. In the preferable embodiment, the maximum diameter “d” of the slowing device 3 is 45 mm and the maximum inner diameter “D” of the flange 132 is 47 mm. A gap “a” between the slowing device 3 and the flange 132 is 1.5 mm. The maximum depth “H” of the recessed area 141 of the mediate cap 14 is 10 mm. The thickness “h” of each of the at least two braking pieces 32 is 7 mm. The weight of each of the at least two braking pieces 32 is 40 grams.

As shown in FIG. 6, the rotor 11 and the belt 2 are in normal status, the at least two braking pieces 32 are not in contact with the flange 132. Alternatively, the at least two braking pieces 32 are in contact with the flange 132 by do not apply normal force to the flange 132.

As shown in FIG. 7, when the users pull the belt 2, the rotor 11 and the slowing device 3 are rotated, the at least two braking pieces 32 move away from the guide member 31 by centrifugal force and contact the inner wall of the flange 132. Friction is generated between the flange 132 and the at least two braking pieces 32, so that the movement of the belt 3 is slowed. Similarly, when the belt 2 is released, the belt 2 is scrolled to the rotor 11, the at least two braking pieces 32 move away from the guide member 31 by centrifugal force and contact the inner wall of the flange 132. Friction is generated between the flange 132 and the at least two braking pieces 32, so that the movement of the belt 3 is also slowed. The speed that the belt 3 is operated is slowed so that the belt 3 does not injure people.

The flange 132 of the top cap 13 is inserted to the recessed area 141 of the mediate part 14, and the hexagonal rod 312 of the guide member 31 extends through the second central hole 142 of the mediate part 14 and is connected to the hexagonal hole 112 of the axle 111, so that axle 111 of the rotor 11 can rotate the slowing device 3. The top cap 13 and the mediate part 14 are connected to the top of the storage unit 10 so that the assembly is easy.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
