DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to a pocket that is attachable to a brassier (“bra”). The attachable pocket may include a first panel and a second panel forming an interior cavity. The attachable pocket also comprises a plurality of straps configured to be releasably attached to portions of a bra. In certain embodiments, the straps may be adjustable to attach to different sized bras.

Certain embodiments of the present invention are directed to an attachable camisole pocket that is configured to attach to the shoulder straps and the middle center straps of, for example, traditional (regular) bras, sports bras, or any garment with straps. As described further below, the attachable camisole pocket may include extension arms or straps that are adjustable to accommodate different sized bras worn by different women. The attachable camisole pocket may be suspended in the middle of the female bosom, which may aid in concealing the pocket. The present invention may further include a re-sealable opening closed, for example, using a zipper, Velcro, etc., that may secure personal items (e.g., money, credit cards, keys, phones, and the like) in the pocket. The opening may be positioned at the top of the attachable camisole pocket, thereby making the opening and the interior of the pocket easily accessible. Depending on what garment is worn with the attachable camisole pocket, the pocket may be completely hidden or it may be partially visible. When partially visible, the attachable camisole pocket may appear as a decorative camisole.

FIGS. 1-3 illustrate an attachable pocket 10 in accordance with embodiments of the present invention. More specifically, FIG. 1 is a front perspective view of the attachable pocket 10, while FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the attachable pocket 10 taken generally along line 2-2 of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a rear view of the attachable pocket 10.

As shown, the attachable pocket 10 includes a body 14 comprising a front panel (face) 15, a rear panel (face) 17, a top edge 19, a bottom edge 21, a first edge 23, and a second edge 25. As illustrated in the Figures, the front panel 15 and rear panel 17 (and thus the body 14) have a general trapezoidal shape. It is to be appreciated that the front panel 15 and rear panel 17 (and thus the body 14) may have other shapes such as, for example, circular, cut off heart, heart shaped, square, and the like.

The front panel 15 and the rear panel 17 are secured together at one or a plurality of the top edge 19, bottom edge 21, first edge 23, and second edge 25 to form an interior cavity within the attachable pocket 10. For example, in certain embodiments the front panel 15 and the rear panel 17 are formed from separate pieces of material (e.g., fabric, plastic, etc.) and are secured together at top edge 19, bottom edge 21, first edge 23, and second edge 25

Alternatively, the front panel 15 and the rear panel 17 may be formed from the same piece of material so as to be integrated with one another along one or more of the top edge 19, bottom edge 21, first edge 23, and second edge 25. In such embodiments, the front panel 15 and the rear panel 17 may only be secured together at the non-integrated edges or at all edges.

In certain embodiments, fabric may be formed into a pocket and sewn with thread along one or more of the edges 19, 21, 23, and 25. However, other forms of material, such as plastic, may be used in place of the fabric. Alternatively, other methods of forming the attachable pocket 10, aside from thread, may also be used, for example, using seamless technology.

In certain embodiments, the front panel 15 and/or one or more of the top edge 19, bottom edge 21, first edge 23, and second edge 25 of the body 14 may include decorative elements. For example, the front panel 15 may include lace, embroidery, or any design that may create the look of a camisole. Therefore, when a user is wearing the attachable pocket 10, the attachable pocket 10 may present the appearance that the user is wearing a camisole.

As noted above and as shown in FIG. 2, an interior cavity 27 is formed within the attachable pocket 10 between the front panel 15 and the rear panel 17. An opening 28 is also formed, for example, in the real panel 17 at or near the top edge 19. Therefore, the opening 28 may be hidden from view when a user is wearing the attachable pocket 10. In certain embodiments, the opening 28 is a closeable/sealable (re-sealable) opening that may be opened and closed. In the embodiments illustrated in FIG. 3, the pocket opening 28 is opened or closed using a zipper 26. In alternative arrangements, the pocket opening 28 may be opened and closed, for example, using snap buttons, hook and loop fasteners, clips, and the like. Because the opening 28 is closeable/sealable, items may be secured within the attachable pocket 10 without the concern that those items may fall out of the attachable pocket.

In accordance with embodiments presented herein, the attachable pocket 10 may further include adjustable straps 18 positioned at or near the top edge 19. A first strap 18A may extend from the first edge 23 of the body 14 and a second strap 18B may extend from the second edge 25 of the body 14. In general, the straps 18A and 18B are configured to be secured the straps of a brassier (bra) 12.

More specifically, in accordance with the illustrative embodiments of FIG. 2, each of the straps 18A and 18B include connectors 22 and 24 enable the straps 18A and 18B to be attached straps of a bra. The connectors 22 and 24 of may include corresponding snap buttons, clips, hook and loop fasteners, Velcro elements, and the like. In certain embodiments, the connectors connector 24 are male connectors (e.g., male snaps) positioned at the ends of the straps 18A and 18B, while the connectors 22 are female connectors (e.g., female snaps) positioned on rear panel 17 near top edge 19. In other embodiments, the connectors connector 24 are female connectors positioned at the ends of the straps 18A and 18B, while the connectors 22 are male connectors positioned on rear panel 17 near top edge 19. Therefore, the straps 18A and 18B may wrap around a strap of bra 12 such and the connector 24 may be secured to the connector 22. Therefore, the straps 18A and 18B may each be formed into a loop.

In certain embodiments, the straps 18A and 18B may be adjustable. For example, the loop formed when the connectors 22, 24 are secured may be adjustable in size. As illustrated in FIG. 3, a plurality of connectors 22 may extend near the top edge 19 of the body portion 14 from each of the edges 23 and 25 towards the middle of the rear panel 17 so as to provide multiple connection points for connectors 24. That is, the first connectors 24 may be attachable to any of the second connectors 22 based on a desired tightness of the strap and size of the formed loop. Therefore, the attachable pocket 10 of the present invention may be used with different sized women with different sized bras 12.

The straps 18A and 18B of the attachable pocket 10 may be made of a flexible material, such as an elastic material, or other polymer or fabric. The straps 18A and 18B may be sewn into the body 14 (e.g., to the sides 23 and 25). However, in certain embodiments, the straps 18 may be detachable.

In certain embodiments, the attachable pocket 10 may further include an optional bottom strap 20 extending from the bottom edge 21 of the body 14. In certain embodiments, the bottom strap 20 may include connectors 22 and 24 that secure the bottom strap 20 to a center strap of a brassier 12, as illustrated in FIG. 1. In certain embodiments, one or more connectors 22 may be attached to the end of the bottom strap 20, and connectors 24 may either be attached to the bottom strap 20 where the bottom strap 20 and the body 14 meet or the connector 24 may be on the body 14. In certain embodiments, the bottom strap 20 may include a plurality of connectors 22 so that the bottom strap 20 is adjustable, similar to the straps 18A and 18B described above. In certain circumstances, the bottom strap 20 may be used to pull the attachable pocket 10 closer to the user's body. However, in certain embodiments the strap 20 may be detachable.

The invention described and claimed herein is not to be limited in scope by the specific preferred embodiments herein disclosed, since these embodiments are intended as illustrations, and not limitations, of several aspects of the invention. Any equivalent embodiments are intended to be within the scope of this invention. Indeed, various modifications of the invention in addition to those shown and described herein will become apparent to those skilled in the art from the foregoing description.
