Liptiful Tool

This author hopes to protect her daughter's idea of using a beautifully designed cap-type tool for plumping lips. We also know it can provide needed facial toning as well as fullness for the lips, if one desires. We feel our light weight simple design could strengthen the muscles enough to keep one's mouth closed while sleeping. We have a video explaining the beginning exercises. We have testimonies on our website, Facebook page and Etsy Shop that say Liptiful Tool has helped strengthened their cheeks and lips just enough to keep their mouth from dropping open as they sleep, or has made their lips increasingly fuller over time. Liptiful desires to give healthy options to the world in the area of lip plumping. Secondly, we pray many who struggle with facial muscle weakness will finally have their very own facial exercise tool and, furthermore, hope.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Our goal is to provide a cosmetic tool that naturally plumps the lips and to also use this same concept to help those struggling with facial muscle weakness to have an easy tool to perform facial exercises. We have realized it could also help slow down the normal aging process by toning the lip, cheek and chin area easily, which would help women avoid cosmetic surgeries. We began this research in 2011 after my daughter, Ruth Anne, figured out a way to plump her lips with a cap. At age 10, she was just playing around since she knew friends that were models and needed full lips for photos. And then my three year old son showed us how he holds the cap on with his own lip strength. I then realized it could help kids who have Down Syndrome, and also help stroke patients and Bell's Palsy patients in their recovery stages. It could give them a tool of hope to use at their doctor visits and something to use at home for extra encouragement, and quicker recovery. It could be a way to assist with proper exercise of the cheek muscles and the other lip area muscles that many kids and adult are required to do at occupational therapists' offices.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The Liptiful Tool has been designed for lip plumping and facial muscle toning. It allows for easy suction of the lips causing extra collagen fluid to fill the lips naturally over time without side effects or the use of chemicals. This tool will be made in several different shapes. It is a pocket-size lightweight cap-type tool approximately between the sizes of ¾″ to 1⅜″ inside diameter, with the outside shape being a circle, square, rectangle, oval, heart, egg or lip shape. Those sizes are the approximate size of the opening where one's mouth fits on the tool/cap. The inside shape will vary depending on the outside shape. For example, the lip-shaped design will have a lip-shaped inside, but the square shaped Liptiful will have a circled inside shape to fit to one's lips like the original Liptiful Tool. The inside shapes of Liptiful Tools do and will possibly include lip, circle and oval shapes. All of them will be able to fit over the lips comfortably for suction purposes. Each tool will be used for suctioning the lips as well as toning the lip, cheek and chin area by using the facial muscles to move the tool side to side and up and down as it sits suctioned to one's lips. One could also hold the tool on with their hands. Some Liptiful Tools will not be used for plumping, but the user will be focused on strengthening facial muscles only.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 shows the tool being round and having almost identical style and appearance of a cpvc ¾″ or 1″ cap.

FIG. 2 shows the top of the FIG. 1 style being round.

FIG. 3 shows the rectangular cap that is the size of a person's lips.

FIG. 4 shows from a top view, a cap that is lip-shaped.

FIG. 5 shows a square shaped cap/tool.

FIG. 6 shows the underneath view of various shapes. They will have a smooth rim, and each tool has an opening for suctioning to the lips. There will be at least three sizes for the different shapes mentioned on this page. There may be an egg shaped Liptiful also. The tools may and do include small, medium and large. All of these styles are and will be the same approximate inside depth as the ¾″ and/or the 1″ cpvc caps. The word Liptiful, or whatever store decides to sell them for us, will be engraved on the side of each tool.

FIG. 7 shows the top view of the oval and heart. The heart and lip shape tools will be a 3D appearance on the top view of the caps.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The Liptiful Tools will be made out of different lightweight materials such as bamboo, various plastics and wood. Right now they are cpvc, but our first prototypes and molds are being made out of polyurethane resin with possibly some silicone. Some parts, like the rim may be silicone for a softer feel on the lips. These materials may vary depending on what is popular at the time. We are currently using a CPVC ¾″ and 1″ cap for making these Liptiful tools. We sand the caps' rim to be smooth and we decorate or paint them how the customer orders. There are over 30 designs in our Etsy Shop. We hand-paint them several unique exclusive designs, and some one color only. We decorate them with ribbon, lace trim, rhinestones, paper and silk flowers and cotton accents. The Lip-shaped Liptiful has a provisional application, sent in to USPTO Apr. 11, 2013. Realizing it may take some time to accept this Utility Patent application; we submitted a provisional application for the Lip-Shaped Liptiful Tool. In the future we would like to see our “cap” on the lid of lipsticks and lip balm of all kinds. The lid would pull off, be a suction device as well as a lid, then be placed back on the lipstick or balm.

Claims

1. This invention is a cosmetic tool that is hand-held, cap-like, convenient, pocket-size, fun to use and beautifully designed, therefore, includes round, square, rectangle, oval, heart, egg and lip shapes.

Liptiful Tools has been made to help those whose desire is to obtain fuller lips because of the normal loss of lip collagen fluid that occurs with age, and will help teens have healthier options for common lip plumping.
The classic Liptiful Tools' various sizes will have an approximate inside diameter between the size of ¾″ to 1⅜″ with the ¾″ being the small size we offer and 1⅜″ being the large sized tool with ¾″ to 1⅛″ being the approximate heights of our classic tools offered.
The function of a lipstick or lip balm cap of any kind will be possibly used as a Liptiful Tool as these products are manufactured by cosmetic companies who buy the rights to make their caps fit comfortably to one's lips for suction purposes and then this cap for suctioning will double as the lid for their lipsticks.
The weight of each tool is very light and perfect for the lip area muscles alone to hold the tool/cap on, pressed and suctioned onto the lips without needing to use the hands or fingers.

2. This tool, such as the Brittany Liptiful Tool on Etsy, is designed for those who need to train, retrain or strengthen their lip area facial muscles due the tools' perfect light weight, that of a lipstick lid, lip balm cap or cpvc cap and provides the exercise needed for these tiny muscles and also provides a fun, interesting way for patients at Occupational Therapists' offices to perform their required exercises.

Some tools will be conveniently manufactured to be placed on lipstick lids and lip balm caps, but others will be just carried in the purse or pocket as a separate fun tool for strengthening muscles, and as a tool to use before bed, toning those muscles so as to keep them strong during the night, allowing for the lips to stay closed while sleeping.
