Description
BACKGROUND

1. Technical Field

The present disclosure generally relates to mass packing of transportable workpieces, and particularly to a packing assembly suitable for packing workpieces with pins.

2. Description of Related Art

In a transporting process, pins of the workpieces may resist against sidewalls of a packing container, such that the pins are easily damaged. In addition, the workpieces are wholly received in the packing container, so it is inconvenient to pick out or remove the workpieces.

Therefore, there is room for improvement within the art.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present disclosure. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout several views, and all the views are schematic.

FIG. 1 shows an assembled, isometric view of one embodiment of a packing assembly.

FIG. 2 shows an exploded, isometric view of the packing assembly of FIG. 1.

FIG. 3 is similar to FIG. 2, but viewed from another aspect.

FIG. 4 shows a cross-sectional view of the packing assembly, taken along line IV-IV of FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the figures of the accompanying drawings in which like references indicate similar elements. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean “at least one.”

FIG. 1 shows one embodiment of a packing assembly 100 configured to pack a plurality of workpieces 200 which have a plurality of pins 201 (shown in FIG. 4). The packing assembly 100 includes a first packing member 10 and a second packing member 30. The second packing member 30 is stacked on the first packing member 10.

Referring also to FIGS. 2 and 3, the first packing member 10 includes a top wall 11 and a sidewall 13 extending from a periphery of the top wall 11. The top wall 11 includes two packing portions 15 which are located side by side, and defines a latching groove 17 around the periphery thereof. Each packing portion 15 defines a plurality of receiving grooves 151 which are located side by side. The workpiece 200 is received in one receiving groove 151 and partially protrudes from the receiving groove 151. In each receiving groove 151, a bottom surface 1512 and two side surfaces 1513 are defined for the packing portion 15. The two side surfaces 1513 extend from opposite sides of the bottom surface 1512 for each receiving groove 151. The bottom surface 1512 defines a plurality of passing-through holes 1514 (shown in FIG. 3). The pins 201 of the workpiece 200 are inserted into the passing-through holes 1514 to prevent the pins 201 from being damaged in a transporting process. A connecting surface 1519 is formed to connect two adjacent side surfaces 1513 of two adjacent receiving portions 151. The connecting surface 1519 defines a semi-circular retrieving groove 1517, for facilitating the removal or retrieval of the workpiece 200 out off the packing assembly 100. The sidewall 13 defines a plurality of detaching grooves 1312 spaced from each other, facilitating the separation of the first packing members 10 from any stacked packing assemblies.

The second packing member 30 is located or disposed on the top wall 11 of the first packing member 10 and has substantially the same structure as that of the first packing member 10. In detail, the second packing member 30 includes a top wall 31 and a sidewall 33 extending from a periphery of the top wall 31. The sidewall 33 of the second packing member 30 is latched with the top wall 11 of the first packing member 10. The top wall 31 includes two packing portions 35 which are located side by side, and defines a latching groove 37 around the periphery thereof. Each packing portion 35 defines a plurality of receiving grooves 351 which are located side by side. The workpiece 200 is received in one receiving groove 351 and partially protrudes from the receiving groove 351. In each receiving groove 351, a bottom surface 3512 and two side surfaces 3513 are defined in the packing portion 35. The two side surfaces 3513 extend from opposite sides of the bottom surface 3512. The bottom surface 3512 defines a plurality of passing-through holes 3514 (shown in FIG. 3). The pins 201 of the workpiece 200 are inserted into the passing-through holes 3514 to prevent the pins 201 from being damaged in a transporting process. A connecting surface 3519 is formed to connect two adjacent side surfaces 3513 of two adjacent receiving grooves 351. The connecting surface 3519 defines a semi-circular retrieving groove 3517, for facilitating the removal or retrieving of the workpiece 200. The sidewall 33 defines a plurality of detaching grooves 3312 spaced from each other, for facilitating the removal of the second packing member 30 from the first packing member 10. The sidewall 33 of the second packing member 30 is located on the top wall 11 of the first packing member 10, and latched in the latching groove 17 of the top wall 11, such that the second packing member 30 is stacked on the first packing member 10.

The bottom surfaces 1512, 3512 define the passing-through holes 1514, 3514 for receiving the pins 201 of the workpieces 200, to shield the pins 201 from damage. In addition, the connecting surfaces 1519, 3519 define the retrieving grooves 1517, 3517, such that the workpieces 200 can be picked up and removed easily from the packing assembly 100.

In other embodiments, the number of the second packing member 30 can be changed to be more than one, or the second packing member 30 can be omitted.

Finally, while various embodiments have been described and illustrated, the disclosure is not to be construed as being limited thereto. Various modifications can be made to the embodiments by those skilled in the art without departing from the true spirit and scope of the disclosure as defined by the appended claims.
