Unattached weighted seat protector

This invention is a weighted, non-skid, heat reflective seat cover which protects seats exposed to the elements from heat and moisture. Seats can become extremely hot when exposed to the sun; they also require a towel or other means to dry them if they become wet from rain or dew. There are three layers of fabric. The top fabric layer deflects the sun's rays as well as dew and rain; thus keeping the seat cool and dry. The weighted middle fabric layer and fabric non-skid bottom layer keep the cover securely on the seat. The layers are permanently sewn together. The invention is designed to be placed on a seat without being attached in any way. The invention shields the seat from moisture and heat from the sun and is intended to be removed before the seat is used.

Description

This invention is a weighted, non-skid, heat reflective seat cover which protects seats exposed to the elements from heat and moisture. Seats can become extremely hot when exposed to the sun; they also require a towel or other means to dry them if they become wet from rain or dew.

My invention solves these problems in this way: The top reflective surface deflects the sun's rays as well as dew and rain; thus keeping the seat cool and dry. The weighted middle and non-skid bottom keep the cover securely on the seat.

The invention is designed to be placed on a seat without being attached in any way. The invention shields the seat from moisture and heat from the sun and can be removed before the seat is used.

The Invention Consists of the Following Elements:

Element 1: A heat reflective and water resistant top layer

Element 2: A middle layer of vinyl

Element 3: A layer of ⅛ inch thick×1 inch square weights sewn inside cloth strips at 3 inch intervals.

Element 4: A non-skid bottom layer

Element 5: A decorative vinyl trim

The Parts are Assembled as Follows:

Elements 1, 2 and 4 are cut to equal sizes. Element 3 is cut to lengths adequate to cover the size of Elements 1, 2 and 4 with equidistant weights. Element 5 is cut to a length appropriate to cover the perimeter of Element 1, 2 and 4.

Element 3 is sewn to the bottom of Element 2 in a criss-cross pattern to distribute the weights evenly. Element 1 is the sewn onto the top of Element 2 and Element 4 is sewn to the bottom of Element 3. The edges are secured with an attractive and securing edging (Element 5).

The Elements Provide the Following:

Element 1 reflects heat

Element 2 is used so to hold Element 4 by means of sewing.

Element 4 is the weighted element which holds the seat cover in place with the help of

Element 5 which provides non-skid capability.

Claims

1. A seat protector consisting of a non-skid bottom, a weighted middle and a heat and water/moisture resistant top layer intended to be placed on a seat to keep it cool and dry.
