Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention The invention relates to toilet installation and more particularly to a device for detachably, adjustably securing a toilet to the ground.

2. Description of Related Art

Conventionally, a toilet is permanently secured to the ground by, for example, cement. However, an individual typically has to destructively remove the toilet if a removal is needed. Such destructive removal is not desired if the toilet is still in good condition.

Thus, the need for the provision of a device for detachably, adjustably securing a toilet to the ground exists.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore one object of the invention to provide a device for detachably, adjustably securing a toilet to the ground comprising two curved plates each comprising a curved slot in an intermediate portion, the curved slot including a wide section and a narrow section, two end holes, two holed projections proximate the end holes respectively, and a plurality of bottom protuberances each disposed between the curved slot and either holed projection; two curved spacers placed on the ground and comprising an intermediate protrusion and two bossed holes proximate both ends respectively, the bossed holes being inserted through the end holes to fit the protrusion between facing ends of the curved plates so that the curved spacer and the curved plates are joined; two threaded fasteners each comprising a head capable of freely passing the wide section but not passing the narrow section so as to threadedly secure to the toilet, and a bare section capable of frictionally moving along the narrow section so as to relatively position the toilet with respect to the device; and two threaded fastening members driven through the holed projections respectively to secure the toilet to the ground.

The above and other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 10, a device for detachably, adjustably securing a toilet 70 to the ground 60 in accordance with the invention comprises the following components as discussed in detail below.

Two curved plates 10 each comprises an elongated, curved slot 11 in the intermediate portion, the slot 11 including a wide section 110 and a narrow section 111, two holes 14 each proximate an end 13, two semi-disc shaped projections 17 each proximate the hole 14, two holes 12 each through the projection 17, and a plurality of protuberances 18 each disposed between the slot 11 and either projection 17.

Two curved spacers 20 each has a flat bottom to be placed on the ground and comprises, on a top surface, an intermediate protrusion 22 having a truncated trapezoidal cross-section, and two bossed holes 21 proximate both ends respectively. Each spacer 20 is adapted to fix the facing ends 13 of the plates 10 by inserting the bossed holes 21 through the holes 14 and fitting the protrusion 22 between the facing ends 13. As a result, the plates 10 are joined to form a circular hole 15 therein. A gap 16 is thus formed between the plates 10 and the ground 60. Further, the protuberances 18 are rested upon the ground 60.

A drain pipe 40 has one end fitted in the hole 15. Further, a bottom structure 71 of the toilet 70 has an inner circular member adapted to urge one end of the drain pipe 40 against the edge of the hole 15 for fastening them together. Two screws 50 each has a cooperating washer 51 and is driven through the hole 12 to secure the toilet 70 to the ground 60. Two bolt and nut fasteners 30 each comprise a head 31 and a bare section 32 adjacent to the head 31. The head 31 is shaped to freely pass the wide section 110 and the threaded portion of the fastener 30 can be secured to the bottom structure 71 by cooperating with two nuts. Also, the head 31 is too large to pass the narrow section 111 but the bare section 32 of the fastener 30 can be frictionally moved along the narrow section 111 so that a relative positioning of the toilet 70 and the device of the invention can be carried out.

It is envisaged by the invention that the toilet 70 can be detachably, adjustably secured to the ground 60 in an easy manner. Therefore, a non-destructive temporary removal of the toilet 70 can be done.

While the invention has been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention can be practiced with modifications within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
