A strong collapsible chair has a frame and a soft panel attached to the frame. The frame has right and left front tube legs, right and left rear legs, right and left armrest bars pivotally linked to respect right front and right rear legs and respect left front and left rear legs, right and left front lower legs slidably inserted in respective right and left front tube leg, right and left front feet fixed to right and left front lower legs, right and left front supporters respectively fixed to right and left front legs, a pair of front scissoring bars, right and left seat bars, right and left backrest bars, right and left first sleeves, right and left reinforcement bars, right and left rear feet, and a pair of rear scissoring bars.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The invention relates to a collapsible chair, and more particularly, to a simply operable collapsible chair having a strong and safe frame structure.

2. Description of Related Art

Collapsible chairs having a foldable frame and a soft panel attached to the frame have long been developed. They are able to be folded for saving storage space. U.S. patent U.S. Pat. No. 6,926,356 by applicant discloses a portable folding chair having a support frame including support legs and arms. However, the folding chair is not strong enough since the arms are not supported by the support legs but by support tubes between the arms and the legs. Secondly, the front support legs are tilt to a ground where the folding chair stands. It greatly increase a bending force acting on the front support legs, making them liable to yield.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main object of the invention is to provide a collapsible chair which is stronger since each of a pair of armrest bars being supported directly by one of a pair of front legs instead of intermediate linking tubes.

Another object of the invention is to provide a credible collapsible chair the front legs thereof are not liable to be bent to yield since the front legs extending basically upright with respect to a level ground where the collapsible chair stands.

In order to accomplish the above objects, the present invention provides a strong collapsible chair having a frame and a soft panel attached to the frame. The soft panel has a backrest portion and a seat portion. The frame has a right front tube leg and an identical left front tube leg each having an upper end and a lower end, a right rear leg and an identical left rear leg each having an upper end and a lower end, a right armrest bar having a front portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the right front leg, a middle portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the right rear leg, and a rear portion, a left armrest bar having a front portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the left front leg, a middle portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the left rear leg, and a rear portion, a right front lower leg having a lower end and an upper end telescopically slidably inserted in the right front tube leg, a left front lower leg having a lower end and an upper end telescopically slidably inserted in the left front tube leg, a right front foot securely fixed to the lower end of the right front lower leg, a left front foot securely fixed to the lower end of the left front lower leg, a right front supporter securely formed on the right front tube leg, a left front supporter securely formed on the left front tube leg, a pair of front scissoring bars lower ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the left front foot and the right front foot and upper ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the right front supporter and the left front supporter, a right seat bar having a front portion pivotally linked to the right front supporter, a middle portion, and a rear portion, a left seat bar having a front portion pivotally linked to the left front supporter, a middle portion, and a rear portion, a right backrest bar having an upper portion, a middle portion pivotally linked to the rear portion of the right armrest bar, and a lower portion pivotally linked to the rear portion of the right seat bar, a left backrest bar having an upper portion, a middle portion pivotally linked to the rear portion of the left armrest bar, and a lower portion pivotally linked to the rear portion the left seat bar, a first right sleeve slidably covering on the upper portion of the right backrest bar, a first left sleeve slidably covering on the upper portion of the left backrest bar, a right reinforcement bar having a lower end pivotally linked to the right front foot, a middle portion pivotally linked to the middle portion of the right seat bar, and an upper end pivotally linked to the first right sleeve, a left reinforcement bar having a lower end pivotally linked to the left front foot, a middle portion pivotally linked to the middle portion of the left seat bar, and an upper end pivotally linked to the first left sleeve, a right rear foot securely fixed to the lower end of the right rear leg, a left rear foot securely fixed to the lower end of the left rear leg, and, a pair of rear scissoring bars lower ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the left rear foot and the right rear foot and upper ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the first right sleeve and the first left sleeve.

According to another aspect of the invention, the frame may further has a second right sleeve slidably covering on a middle portion of the right rear leg and pivotally linked to a rear most portion of the right seat bar, and a second left sleeve slidably covering on a middle portion of the left rear leg and pivotally linked to a rear most portion of the left seat bar.

It could be seen that in the present invention, the armrest bars are supported directly by respective front and rear legs instead of intermediate linking tubes. The frame will thus be stronger and the armrest bars will no longer sway with respect to the legs of the frame.

Secondly, the front legs of the invention are basically upright with respect to a level ground where the collapsible chair stands. Therefore the front legs will no longer bear a great bending force when a user sits on the chair. The front legs will no longer be liable to yield to the bending force and the chair will be more credible.

These and other objectives, features, and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description, the accompanying drawings, and the appended claims.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of the strong collapsible chair of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Shown in FIG. 1 is the preferred embodiment of the strong collapsible chair of the invention. The strong collapsible chair has a frame 1 and a soft panel 2 securely attached to the frame 1. The soft panel 2 has a backrest portion 21 and a seat portion 22.

With reference to FIGS. 2, 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d, in which the soft panel 2 is removed for better illustration of the frame 1, the frame 1 has a right front tube leg 11a and an identical left front tube leg 11b each having an upper end and a lower end, a right rear leg 12a and an identical left rear leg 12b each having an upper end and a lower end, a right armrest bar 13a having a front portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the right front leg 11a, a middle portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the right rear leg 12a, and a rear portion, a left armrest bar 13b having a front portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the left front leg 11b, a middle portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the left rear leg 12b, and a rear portion, a right front lower leg 14a having a lower end and an upper end telescopically slidably inserted in the right front tube leg 11a, a left front lower leg 14b having a lower end and an upper end telescopically slidably inserted in the left front tube leg 11b, a right front foot 101a securely fixed to the lower end of the right front lower leg 14a, a left front foot 101b securely fixed to the lower end of the left front lower leg 14b, a right front supporter 102a securely formed on the right front tube leg 11a, a left front supporter 102b securely formed on the left front tube leg 11b, a pair of front scissoring bars 15a and 15b lower ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the left front foot 101b and the right front foot 101a and upper ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the right front supporter 102a and the left front supporter 102b, a right seat bar 16a having a front portion pivotally linked to the right front supporter 102a, a middle portion, and a rear portion, a left seat bar 16b having a front portion pivotally linked to the left front supporter 102b, a middle portion, and a rear portion, a right backrest bar 17a having an upper portion, a middle portion pivotally linked to the rear portion of the right armrest bar 13a, and a lower portion pivotally linked to the rear portion of the right seat bar 16a, a left backrest bar 17b having an upper portion, a middle portion pivotally linked to the rear portion of the left armrest bar 13b, and a lower portion pivotally linked to the rear portion the left seat bar 16b, a first right sleeve 103a slidably covering on the upper portion of the right backrest bar 17a, a first left sleeve 103b slidably covering on the upper portion of the left backrest bar 17b, a right reinforcement bar 18a having a lower end pivotally linked to the right front foot 101a, a middle portion pivotally linked to the middle portion of the right seat bar 16a, and an upper end pivotally linked to the first right sleeve 103a, a left reinforcement bar 18b having a lower end pivotally linked to the left front foot 101b, a middle portion pivotally linked to the middle portion of the left seat bar 16b, and an upper end pivotally linked to the first left sleeve 103b, a right rear foot 104a securely fixed to the lower end of the right rear leg 12a, a left rear foot 104b securely fixed to the lower end of the left rear leg 12b, and, a pair of rear scissoring bars 19a and 19b lower ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the left rear foot 104b and the right rear foot 104a and upper ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the first right sleeve 103a and the first left sleeve 103b.

Together with reference to FIG. 3d, in order for strengthening the frame 1, a second right sleeve 105a may be provided slidably covering on a middle portion of the right rear leg 12a and pivotally linked to a rear most portion of the right seat bar 16a, and a second left sleeve 105b may be provided slidably covering on a middle portion of the left rear leg 12b and pivotally linked to a rear most portion of the left seat bar 16b.

A folded up frame 1 is as shown in FIG. 5. With reference to FIG. 4, a user is able to expand the collapsible chair by holding one seat bar 16a or 16b with one hand and one backrest bar 17a or 17b by another hand and then pulling them apart. The seat bar and the backrest bar of the same side, e.g., of the right or of the left, will rotate to depart to each other round the pivot link therebetween. The first sleeves 103a and 103b will move downward along the respect backrest bars 17a and 17b. The front and the rear scissoring bars 15a, 15b, 19a and 19b expand and the front feet 101a and 101b respectively pivotally linked thereto will move upward with respect to the respect front tube legs 11a or 11b, pushing the respect front lower leg 14a or 14b into corresponding front tube leg 11a or 11b. A fully expanded frame 1 is as shown in FIG. 2. A reverse operation may fold the frame 1 up.

From above description, it is seen that the objects of the present invention have been fully and effectively accomplished. Embodiment of the invention has been shown and described for the purposes of illustrating the functional and structural principles of the present invention and is subject to change without departure from the invention's principles. Therefore, this invention includes all modifications encompassed within the spirit and scope of the following claims.

Claims

1. A strong collapsible chair comprising a frame and a soft panel attached to the frame,

the soft panel having a backrest portion and a seat portion, and,
the frame having a right front tube leg and an identical left front tube leg each having an upper end and a lower end,
a right rear leg and an identical left rear leg each having an upper end and a lower end,
a right armrest bar having a front portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the right front leg, a middle portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the right rear leg, and a rear portion,
a left armrest bar having a front portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the left front leg, a middle portion pivotally linked to the upper end of the left rear leg, and a rear portion,
a right front lower leg having a lower end and an upper end telescopically slidably inserted in the right front tube leg,
a left front lower leg having a lower end and an upper end telescopically slidably inserted in the left front tube leg,
a right front foot securely fixed to the lower end of the right front lower leg,
a left front foot securely fixed to the lower end of the left front lower leg,
a right front supporter securely formed on the right front tube leg,
a left front supporter securely formed on the left front tube leg,
a pair of front scissoring bars lower ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the left front foot and the right front foot and upper ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the right front supporter and the left front supporter,
a right seat bar having a front portion pivotally linked to the right front supporter, a middle portion, and a rear portion,
a left seat bar having a front portion pivotally linked to the left front supporter, a middle portion, and a rear portion,
a right backrest bar having an upper portion, a middle portion pivotally linked to the rear portion of the right armrest bar, and a lower portion pivotally linked to the rear portion of the right seat bar,
a left backrest bar having an upper portion, a middle portion pivotally linked to the rear portion of the left armrest bar, and a lower portion pivotally linked to the rear portion the left seat bar,
a first right sleeve slidably covering on the upper portion of the right backrest bar,
a first left sleeve slidably covering on the upper portion of the left backrest bar,
a right reinforcement bar having a lower end pivotally linked to the right front foot, a middle portion pivotally linked to the middle portion of the right seat bar, and an upper end pivotally linked to the first right sleeve,
a left reinforcement bar having a lower end pivotally linked to the left front foot, a middle portion pivotally linked to the middle portion of the left seat bar, and an upper end pivotally linked to the first left sleeve,
a right rear foot securely fixed to the lower end of the right rear leg,
a left rear foot securely fixed to the lower end of the left rear leg, and,
a pair of rear scissoring bars lower ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the left rear foot and the right rear foot and upper ends thereof being respectively pivotally linked to the first right sleeve and the first left sleeve.

2. The strong collapsible chair as claimed in claim 1, wherein the frame further has a second right sleeve slidably covering on a middle portion of the right rear leg and pivotally linked to a rear most portion of the right seat bar, and a second left sleeve slidably covering on a middle portion of the left rear leg and pivotally linked to a rear most portion of the left seat bar.
