METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR REMOVING WEFT HAIR EXTENSIONS

Implementations of the present invention may reduce the difficulty of removing weft hair extensions from braided hair. Implementations of the present invention comprise a novel apparatus to lift the thread away from the weft hair extension and the braided hair and cut the thread. The apparatus includes a handle and a u-shaped end-piece that includes a blade in the curved portion of the u-shaped piece. In some implementations, the u-shaped end-piece may include a sharpened edge in the curved portion of the u-shaped piece In some implementations, one side of the u-shaped piece may be longer than the other side of the u-shaped piece. In some implementations, one side of the u-shaped piece is tapered at the end with a flat surface to facilitate lifting the thread away from the weft hair extension. In some implementations, the end of the handle can be tapered.

This application claims the benefit of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 61/765,494, which was filed on Feb. 15, 2013, and is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

TECHNICAL FIELD

This disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for removing weft hair extensions sewn onto braided hair.

BACKGROUND

Weft hair extensions can be sewn onto braided hair to create a hair style. Typically, the weft hair extension is sewn onto the braided hair using a needle and thread. To remove the weft hair extension from the braided hair, the thread must be cut. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to differentiate and/or separate the thread from the braided hair. This can lead to accidentally cutting the hair or unnecessarily prolonging the time to cut the thread.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Implementations of methods and apparatuses for removing weft hair extensions sewn onto braided hair are provided. Implementations of the present invention may reduce the difficulty of removing weft hair extensions from braided hair. Implementations of the present invention comprise a novel apparatus to lift the thread away from the weft hair extension and the braided hair and cut the thread.

Implementations of an apparatus according to the present disclosure can include a handle and a u-shaped end-piece that includes a blade in the curved portion of the u-shaped piece. In some implementations, one side of the u-shaped piece may be longer than the other side of the u-shaped piece. In some implementations, one side of the u-shaped piece is tapered at the end with a flat surface to facilitate lifting the thread away from the weft hair extension. In some implementations, the end of the handle can be tapered.

Implementations of an apparatus according to the present disclosure can be used to remove weft hair extensions from braided hair by using one side of the u-shaped piece to lift the thread. The blade can then be used to cut the thread. In some implementations, the end of the handle also can be used to help remove the cut thread.

In another implementation of the apparatus for removing weft hair extensions from braided hair, the apparatus includes a handle and a u-shaped end-piece that includes a sharpened edge in the curved portion of the u-shaped piece. In some implementations, one side of the u-shaped piece may be longer than the other side.

The implementations of this disclosure can be made of any suitable material presently existing or future developed. In some implementations, an apparatus according to this disclosure can be made of plastic. In some implementations, the blade may be made of stainless steel. In some implementations, the handle of the apparatus may be made of plastic. In some implementations, the u-shaped piece may be made of stainless steel. In alternative implementations, the handle or u-shaped piece can be made of any material.

FIG. 1 illustrates an example apparatus 100 for removing weft hair extensions from braided hair. The apparatus includes a handle 110 and a u-shaped end-piece 120 that includes a blade 130 in the curved portion of the u-shaped piece 120. In some implementations, one side 120a of the u-shaped piece 120 may be longer than the other side 120b of the u-shaped piece 120. In some implementations, one side (e.g., 120a) of the u-shaped piece 120 is tapered at the end to facilitate lifting the thread away from the weft hair extension. In some implementations, the end of the handle may be tapered (not shown).

The apparatus 100 can be used to remove weft hair extensions from braided hair by using one side (e.g., 120a) of the u-shaped piece 120 to lift the thread. The blade 130 can then be used to cut the thread. In implementations where the handle is tapered, the end of the handle also can be used to help remove the cut thread.

FIG. 2A illustrates another example apparatus 200 for removing weft hair extensions from braided hair. The apparatus includes a handle 210 and a u-shaped end-piece 220 that includes a sharpened edge 230 in the curved portion of the u-shaped piece 220. In some implementations, one side 220a of the u-shaped piece 120 may be longer than the other side 220b. In some implementations, one side (e.g., 220a) of the u-shaped piece 220 is tapered at the end to facilitate lifting the thread away from the weft hair extension. In some implementations, one side (e.g., 220a) of the u-shaped piece 220 may have a generally planer inner surface 222.

FIG. 2B illustrates a different view of the apparatus 200 of FIG. 2A.

The implementations of this disclosure can be made of any suitable material presently existing or future developed. In some implementations, an apparatus according to this disclosure 100 can be made of plastic. In some implementations, the blade 130 may be made of stainless steel. In alternative implementations, the handle 110 or u-shaped piece 120 can be made of any material.

In some implementations, the handle 210 of apparatus 200 may be made of plastic. In some implementations, the u-shaped piece 220 may be made of stainless steel. In alternative implementations, the handle 210 or u-shaped piece 220 can be made of any material.

Using implementations of this disclosure, removing weft hair extensions from braided hair may result in fewer incidents of accidentally cutting the hair or may reduce the time to cut the thread.

Reference throughout this specification to “an embodiment” or “implementation” or words of similar import means that a particular described feature, structure, or characteristic is included in at least one embodiment of the present invention. Thus, the phrase “in some implementations” or a phrase of similar import in various places throughout this specification does not necessarily refer to the same embodiment.

Claims

1. An apparatus for removing weft hair extensions from braided hair, comprising:

a handle;
a u-shaped end-piece; wherein
the u-shaped end-piece comprises an interior curved portion configured to cut.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein one side of the u-shaped end-piece is longer than the other side.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein one side of the u-shaped end-piece is tapered.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein one side of the u-shaped end piece has a planer inner surface.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the handle is tapered.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the interior curved portion has a sharpened edge.

7. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the interior curved portion includes a blade.

8. A method of removing weft hair extensions from braided hair using the apparatus of claim 1, the method comprising:

lifting a thread away from a weft hair extension using the u-shaped end-piece;
and cutting the thread using the interior curved portion of the u-shaped end-piece.

9. The method of claim 8 further comprising the step of using the handle to remove the cut thread.

10. The method of claim 9 wherein the handle is tapered.

11. The method of claim 8 wherein the interior curved portion has a sharpened edge.

12. The method of claim 8 wherein the interior curved portion includes a blade.

13. The method of claim 8 wherein one side of the u-shaped end-piece is longer than the other side.

14. The method of claim 8 wherein one side of the u-shaped end-piece is tapered.

15. The method of claim 8 wherein one side of the u-shaped end piece has a planer inner surface.

16. The method of claim 14 wherein lifting a thread away from a weft hair extension using the u-shaped end-piece comprises lifting a thread away from a weft hair extension using the tapered side of the u-shaped end piece.
