CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of U.S. provisional application No. 61/773,117, filed 5 Mar. 2013, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to infant clothing and, more particularly, to a garment that integrates a bib and teething material thereto.

Infant clothing, teething devices, and bibs are currently separate elements that have to be, in many instances, gathered and utilized at once when caring for a baby or infant. The pressures of parenthood can sometimes be exasperated when a crying infant needs clothing, a teething device, and/or a bib which cannot be immediately located. Additionally, the costs of replacing these items when they are lost or misplaced can compound the financial burdens already inherent in raising a child.

As can be seen, there is a need for an apparatus that integrates infant clothing with a bib and teething material thereto.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, a baby teether bodysuit comprises: a garment comprising a chest portion having an exterior surface and an interior surface, wherein the garment forms a collar opening for placement of the garment around a user's neck; and a teething collar integrated into at least a portion of the collar opening.

In another aspect of the present invention, a baby teether bodysuit comprises: a garment comprising a chest portion having an exterior surface and an interior surface, wherein the garment forms a collar opening for placement of the garment around a user's neck; a bib attached to the exterior surface below the collar opening; a moisture guard attached to the interior surface below the collar opening; and an internal bib attached to the interior surface below the collar opening, wherein the interior surface and the internal bib sandwich the moisture guard.

These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention in use;

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 3 is an exploded view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; and

FIG. 4 is a sectional view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention along line 4-4 in FIG. 2.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a baby teether bodysuit. The baby teether bodysuit may include a garment with a teething collar and a bib integrated thereto. A user may be clothed in the garment so as to use the teething collar so that the bib wicks away user saliva and other moisture.

Referring to the FIGS. 1 through 4, the present invention may include a baby teether bodysuit 10. The baby teether bodysuit 10 may include a garment 22, a teething collar 12 and an integrated bib 30.

The garment 22 may be made of a comfortable material such as cotton and the like. The garment 22 may include a top, a one-piece, and/or other various items of apparel which fits a baby, infant and child's upper body without any appreciable waistline. The garment 22 may include an interior surface 26, an exterior surface 28, and a collar opening 2 for receiving a user's 24 head and subsequent placement around the user's 24 neck. The collar opening 2 may include a front side 5 and a back side 6. The garment 22 may include a chest portion 8 extending downwardly from the front side 5 so as to cover the chest of the user 24.

The teething collar 12 may be attached to the front side 5. The teething collar 12 may include a plurality of teething nubs 14 made of non-toxic, tasteless material that does not erode during the teething process, such as but not limited to, rubber, plastic, silicone, a combination thereof and the like. The plurality of teething nubs 14 may be configured to facilitate teething comfort.

The integrated bib 30 may include an external bib 16, a moisture guard 18 and an internal bib 20. The external bib 16 may be integrated to the exterior surface 28 along a portion of the chest portion 8. The external bib 16 may be made of a non-toxic, absorbent material, such as but not limited to, cotton, polyester and the like configured to absorb and wick away moisture from the user's 24 chest. The moisture guard 18 may be integrated to the interior surface 26 along a portion of the chest portion 8. The moisture guard 18 may be made of a suitable moisture-proof or moisture-resistant material, such as plastic, rubber or the like configured to prevent moisture from migrating from the external bib 16, the collar opening 2, and the exterior surface 28 through and into the interior surface 26. The internal bib 20 may be integrated to the moisture guard 18. In certain embodiments, the internal bib 20 may be integrated to the interior surface 26 along a portion of the chest portion 8 so as to sandwich the moisture guard 18 between the interior surface 26 and the internal bib 20. The internal bib 20 may be made of a non-toxic, absorbent material, such as but not limited to, cotton, polyester and the like configured to absorb and wick away moisture from the user's 24 chest.

A method of using the present invention may include the following. The baby teether bodysuit 10 as disclosed above may be provided. The user 24 may adorn the baby teether bodysuit 10 with the collar opening 2 surrounding the user's 24 neck. The user 24 may then teeth on the teething collar 12 so that the integrated bib 30 wicks away saliva and other moisture from the user's 24 chest.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
