Family and Friends Dice Game
A plurality of different game and method of their play for at least two players each game having a plurality of PATTERN chips each designating a unique pattern, a plurality of PRIMARY chips each having at least one unique number, a plurality of MARKER chips and a plurality of dice. Each game has at least one PATTERN chip in play that designates a pattern to be matched based on a PRIMARY chip currently in play. The players try to match the pattern in play with their dice.
This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 61/787,860 filed Mar. 15, 2013, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
FIELD OF THE INVENTIONThe embodiments of the invention are directed to a game that can be played by at least two people. The game includes a plurality of chips and dice which will be described below. It is a fast paced, intellectually challenging game that has multiple configurations to keep participants interested and challenged.
The game consists of the following pieces:
PATTERN chips
PRIMARY chips
LUCKY chips
A, B and C MARKER chips
VONQUER chips
Multiple dice
Dice cups
Bag.

The PRIMARY chips 12 have a large number printed on it and two smaller numbers printed underneath. The large number indicates the number that must appear on the dice when the game is played. The two smaller numbers are only relevant for one configuration of play designated by a PATTERN chip of “3-3-1” which will be described later.
Preferably the playing area is rectangular in shape with the players located on opposite sides of the rectangular. On the other ends of the rectangular where the players are not present are a Pile 1 and Pile 2 side as shown in
Each player gets a dice cup and 7 dice of one color. Each turn of the game is called a “showdown”. During a show down, each player places all of their dice in their cup. The player whose turn it is will say which PRIMARY chip is to be VONQUERED during that showdown. The term VONQUER means all the dice rolled by a player matches the large number printed on the PRIMARY chip being played. The players will shake their dice and then, simultaneously stop and roll their dice onto the playing area. The pattern the dice make must match the large number printed on the PRIMARY chip 12 according to the PATTERN chip 10 of the game being played, examples will be given later.
In particular, if the game is played with two people, both players will grab a dice, black or white and a cup. They will place the dice in the cup and roll. The player who rolls the lowest dice is Player 1 and the other player is Player 2. Player 1 chooses the color of the dice it wants and gets the matching VONQUER chip. Player 1 also chooses the color that it wants of the A, B and C MARKER chips. A PATTERN chip will be drawn by one of the players and it will indicate the Pattern that needs to be established for the particular game. The PATTERN chip selected is placed on one side of the playing area as well as the 2 LUCKY chips. The 6 PRIMARY chips, 12, are placed in the bag. Player 1 will select a PRIMARY chip, P1, from the bag and position it at the opposite end of the playing area from the PATTERN chip. Player 1 will also place its MARKER in front of P1. Player 2 will pull a second PRIMARY chip, P2, from the bag and place it next to P1. Player 2 will also place its MARKER chip in front of the P2. Player 1 then pulls another PRIMARY chip, P3, from the bag and places it next to P1 and places its B MARKER chip in front of P3. Player 2 pulls the fourth PRIMARY chip, P4, from the bag and places it next to the P3 and it also places its B MARKER chip next to the P5. Player 1 pulls a fifth PRIMARY chip, P5, from their bag and places it next to P4 and places its C MARKER chip next to P5. Player 2 pulls the sixth PRIMARY chip, P6 from the bag, places it next to P5 and places its C MARKER chip next to P6.
Each game consists of 3 “showdowns” and each showdown will have multiple rolls of the dice. Once the playing area has been set up, both players will try and VONQUER the PRIMARY chip designated with their respective A MARKER chip. In the second showdown, both players will try and VONQUER the PRIMARY chip designated with their respective B MARKER chip and in the third showdown, both players will try and VONQUER the PRIMARY chip designated with their respective C MARKER.
Only during the first roll of each showdown if all 7 dice show the same number that player has VONQUERED a LUCKY chip and takes a LUCKY chip. The LUCKY chips are worth 2 points each and during a game, i.e. 3 show downs, only 2 times can they be won.
After each roll in a particular showdown, the players will separate the dice they rolled into “YES” dice and “NO” dice. The YES dice are those that the player needs to VONQUER a PRIMARY chip. The player slides the YES dice to a pile without changing the position of the dice. The player puts the No dice in the cup and rolls with them. When the player is rolling in a particular show down and gets one or more Yes dice, the player says “Yes, I got one” or whatever number was gotten. The players continue to roll in the show down until one of the players has VONQUERED the particular PRIMARY chip, i.e., has all YES dice. When the player has done that, the player announces that they have VONQUERED Chip X, where X is the PRIMARY chip they were trying to VONQUER. When a VONQUER has happened play moves to the next show down if there are any remaining showdowns.
Multiple players may play but only two players are present during a showdown so the players must rotate on a team.
To score the games, each PATTERN chip is worth 1 point and each LUCKY chip is worth 2. Different levels may be set up as follows:
Level 1—3 points needed to win
Level 2—6 points needed to win
Level 3—9 points needed to win.
Next, the 17 PATTERN chips 10 will be described along with how to VONQUER the PRIMARY chips of each pattern designated by the PATTERN chip 10.

PATTERN #1→“SAME 7”
“SAME 7” means your 7 Dice must show only the number of the PRIMARY Chip. Thus, each of the 6 “SAME 7” PRIMARY Chips have 1 way you can VONQUER them.
For example, with Chip “2” shown as the PRIMARY Chip, the number is “2.” Combine the “2” with “SAME 7” to form the Dice PATTERN for “Chip 2” which looks like this: 2,2,2,2,2,2,2.
PATTERN #2→“6 & 1 BOTH”
“6 & 1” means your 6 Dice are PRIMARY and one Dice is secondary.
“BOTH” means the two numbers you form must be either two LITTLE numbers or two BIG numbers. LITTLE numbers are 1,2,3 and BIG numbers are 4,5,6.
Each of these 6 “6 & 1 BOTH” PRIMARY Chips have 2 ways you can VONQUER them. As an example, with Chip “3” shown, the PRIMARY number is “3.” You must first get your 6 PRIMARY Dice, then one Dice of another number to complete what “BOTH” means. Combine the “3” with what “6 & 1 BOTH” means to form the Dice PATTERN for “Chip 3” which looks like this: 3,3,3,3,3,3,1 or 3,3,3,3,3,3,3, for example.
PATTERN #3→“6 & 1 MIX”
“6 & 1” means your 6 Dice are PRIMARY and one Dice is secondary.
“MIX” means one number must be a LITTLE number and one number must be a BIG number. Each of these 6 “6 & 1 MIX” PRIMARY Chips have 3 ways you can VONQUER them.
With Chip “3” shown, the PRIMARY number is “3.”
You must first get your 6 PRIMARY Dice, then one Dice of another number to complete what “MIX” means.

PATTERN #16→“4-1-1-1 Little-Big”
“4-1-1-1 L-B” Means your 4 Dice are PRIMARY and the other 3 Dice are secondary and are one of the opposite of all LITTLE or BIG Numbers.
For example—If “2” is the PRIMARY Number, you will need FOUR (2s). Because “2” is a LITTLE Number, the other 3 Dice must be each BIG Number 4,5,6
Each of these 6 “4-1-1-1 L-B” Primary Chips have 1 way you can VONQUER them.
With Game Chip “2” shown, the PRIMARY Number is “2.”
You must first get your 4 PRIMARY Dice, then 1 Dice of each of the opposite of all LITTLE or BIG Numbers.

PATTERN #17→“4-1-1-1 Odd-Even”
All 3 of each Group of ODD or EVEN Numbers must be used in each of the “4-1-1-1 O-E” PATTERNS
“4-1-1-1 O-E” Means your 4 Dice are PRIMARY and the other 3 Dice are secondary and completes either all ODD or EVEN Numbers.
For example—If “2” is the PRIMARY Number, you will need FOUR (2s). Because “2” is an EVEN Number, the other 3 Dice must be each ODD Number 1,3,5
Each of the 6 “4-1-1-1 O-E” PRIMARY Chips have 2 ways you can VONQUER them.
With Chip “3” shown, the PRIMARY Number is “3”.
You must first get your 4 PRIMARY Dice, then 2 Dice of a SECONDARY Number, then 1 Dice is the last SECONDARY Number.

Next, the first PATTERN chip is selected. All of the PATTERN chips are placed in the bag. Player 1 pulls a PATTERN chip and places it in PILE 2. The first PATTERN chip is played as previously explained. Each of the players is trying to VONQUER the same chip during a show down. The players need to keep track of what color A, B, or C Marker chip they are on. The player that wins a pattern will collect the PATTERN chip and pull the next PATTERN chip from the bag. Thus, by way of explanation, in the first game “AFRICA EAST 1,” the 2 LUCKY chips are placed in the playing area at location A. The pulled PATTERN chip is placed at location B and the PRIMARY chips P1-P6 are placed as shown. Player 1 has the orange A,B,C MARKER chips and Player 2 has the green A,B,C MARKER chips. During the first showdown, Player 1 places its A MARKER chip in front of PRIMARY chip P6 and both players have a showdown for P6. Next, Player 1 places it's B MARKER next to PRIMARY chip P3 and a showdown is had for that PRIMARY chip. Finally, Player 1 places it's C MARKER next to PRIMARY chip P5 and a showdown is had for P5. The Player 2 similarly places its MARKER chips according to the pattern shown to the left of the playing area. The first player that wins 2 showdowns of a PATTERN chip wins.
Once given the above disclosure, many other features, modifications and improvements will become apparent to the skilled artisan. Such other features, modifications and improvements are therefore considered to be a part of the embodiments of the invention, the scope of which is to be determined by the following claims.
Claims
1. A method of playing one of a plurality of different games with at least two players, the plurality of games having a plurality of PATTERN chips each designating a unique pattern, a plurality of PRIMARY chips each having at least one unique number, a plurality of MARKER chips and a plurality of dice, the method comprising:
- a) selecting one of the pluralities of games;
- b) selecting PRIMARY chips with each player rotating turns;
- c) placing the PRIMARY chips in a pattern dictated by the game selected in a playing area;
- d) placing the MARKER chips next to a PRIMARY chip as designated by the game being played;
- e) selecting a PATTERN chip and placing it in the playing area as designated by the game being played;
- f) playing multiple showdowns for the PRIMARY chip designated with a particular MARKER chip as designated by the PATTERN chip selected in step until the PRIMARY chip is won;
- g) selecting another PATTERN chip;
- h) playing multiple showdowns for the PRIMARY chip designated with a particular MARKER chip as designated by the PATTERN chip selected in step (G) until the PRIMARY chip is won.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of playing multiple showdowns comprises
- Each player placing all of their dice in their respective cup;
- a) simultaneously rolling the dice into the playing area;
- b) separating each player's dice into YES dice and NO dice where the YES dice meet a criteria of the pattern designated by the currently played PATTERN chip for the currently played PRIMARY chip and the NO dice do not;
- c) returning the NO dice to a player's respective cup;
- d) simultaneously rolling their dice in the playing area;
- e) repeating steps (a)-(c) until a player has all YES dice.
