Omnistring - omnisexual thong

“The Omnistring” is, and will be, one of the key elemental design foundations for the future and evolution of lingerie and undergarment manufacturing. It is not so much defined by sexual characteristics, rather it allows the one who wears it to define it's own characteristics by application of the dual overlapped elastic under-band supports, serving as support and adornment of the pubic area and buttocks. Though incredibly simple in design, “The Omnistring” is actually quite complex in regards to the various modes of wear. It surpasses the notion of “unisex” as it is accessible, and not confined to just male and female, but to persons of sexual transformation/trans-gender procedure and/or augmentation, sexual mutilation, malformation and persons lacking in genetalia as well—thus, by definition, the title of “Omnistring” is aptly given.

BACKGROUND

“The Omnistring” pertains to the intimate apparel or lingerie industry in that this design is strikingly scant of coverage yet yields erotic allure, however by US Patent Classification standards “The Omnistring” would most likely fall under Class 2 Apparel/113 Undergarments subsection “unisex”.

As the spectrum of sexual taste and expression continues to evolve both stylistically and physically (in regards to sexual augmentation and trans-gendering through various surgical procedure), so too will the fashions by which these evolutions are expressed.

Over recent years intimate wear and high-end lingerie especially has evolved to become more omnisexual by minimizing material and becoming more “strappy”. The dual overlapped elastic bands along the underside is the innovation that opens the gate for a truly uni- or omni-sexual undergarment.

In relation to US 200810127399A1—“Unisex Underwear” is similar in design and concept, (that being a thong-style undergarment that can be worn by persons of either sex) yet yields far less functionality than “The Omnistring” in that 2008/0127399A1 is composed of a single elastic band attached at both mid-points of the waistband, which in order to function must be detached from either front or back. “The Omnistring” comprises a waistband, and sewn together at the mid-front and mid-back are dual overlapped elastic bands running along the underside that serve as support which allow for more versatility and remain intact throughout use and wear.

“The Omnistring” does not require the detachment of portions to function, instead the dual overlapped bands can simply be spread apart or pushed to the side for use and comfort—thus the garment remains a singular article or garment.

In regards to US 2007/813880—“Unisex Briefs” the design is wholly different than “Omnistring” in that US 2007/813880 is composed of solid fabrics ranging in elasticity to accommodate both sexes to comfortably wear—similar in concept but not design.

Thus “Omnistring” is, and will stand as, a new foundation by which many new variations and innovations of intimate design, undergarments, and lingerie will branch from.

BRIEF SUMMARY

“The Omnistring” is a thong-style undergarment consisting of a single elastic or fitted waistband sewn together at mid-front and mid-back by dual overlapped elastic bands that serve as the under support, which range in width from ⅜″ to ⅝″.

The dual overlapped elastic bands of “The Omnistring” can either be spread apart, pushed to either side, or remain closed depending on the preference and comfort of the individual.

DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1. depicts “The Omnistring” in it's natural, or closed position. The waistband: (1) is attached at the back & front mid-points: (5) & (6), by the dual overlapped elastic under-band supports: (2) and (3), appearing almost as a single band.

FIG. 2. depicts “The Omnistring” in it's spread or open position, demonstrating breadth and function of the dual overlapped elastic under-band supports: (2) and (3), both of which remain attached to the waistband: (1) at mid-front: (5), and mid-back: (6).

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

“The Omnistring” is a thong style undergarment with various modes of wear giving it universal accessibility and appeal. “The Omnistring” is composed of only three vital elements: the waistband, and two overlapped elastic bands ranging in width from ⅜″ to ⅝″, composed of such materials as cotton, polyester, nylon, etc., which are sewn at the front and back mid-points of the waistband that serve as under support, replicating a thong, yet far more streamlined, and yields more versatility in mode of wear and function.

“The Omnistring” allows for omnisexual versatility given the dual overlapped elastic support bands allow the wearer options as to how to approach wearing the garment without requiring detachment of elastic.

In the case of a female, “The Omnistring” can be worn in it's “thong” style—the dual overlapped under-bands serve as support and coverage (though minimal) of the vagina, and follow the natural curvature of the underside. The dual bands can also be spread apart to adorn and frame the vagina and allow accessibility, or simply be pushed to either side.

In the case of a male, the bands are spread apart to allow the penis to protrude comfortably and aesthetically, or again,—simply pushed to either side of the pubic area.

Being as the dual overlapped elastic bands are only attached at the waistband, accessibility to the anus is granted similarly via the spreading of the bands, or again, pushed to either side.

Claims

I. “The Omnistring”, or any article of undergarment, that incorporates two overlapped elastic bands attached at the front and back mid-points of the waistband, that serve as the under support, which

II. allows for various modes of wear by means of positioning of said dual elastic bands, pertaining to the comfort and preference of the individual.
