SLEEVE CUFF MODIFICATION

A sleeve cuff modification includes an elastic connector, which extends from an opening within the sleeve cuff. The elastic connector is stitched on an inner portion of the sleeve and has a button opening that extends through a sleeve opening for attachment to a button on the sleeve. The elastic nature of the connector allows the user to expand the circumference of the sleeve so that the sleeve may be easily rolled up the individual's arm without unbuttoning the sleeve.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a sleeve cuff modification that allows a user to expand the cuff size through the use of an inserted elastic connector.

2. Description of Related Art

Many individuals wear dress shirts. Dress shirts normally include a button-down front and sleeves that include cuffs that may be button or may require cuff links in order to close the sleeve in a position around the user's wrist. The cuff may be unfastened and the user may roll up the sleeves as desired in certain instances to avoid damage to the cuff Further some individuals roll their sleeves up in a warm situation to allow for a cooler surface over the individual's arm. As stated the connection or closure techniques for a sleeve are typically a button or a cuff link. However it would be advantageous to have a more flexible method that allows the individual to move the sleeve up and down their arm without unbuttoning the sleeve.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

The present invention relates to a sleeve cuff modification that includes an elastic connector, which extends from an opening within the sleeve cuff.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 depicts an inside view of a sleeve cuff that includes an elastic connector in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 2 depicts an outside surface of a cuff that includes an elastic connector in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a sleeve cuff modification that includes an elastic connector that is sewn or stitched on an inner portion of a sleeve. At one end thereof the elastic connector receives a stitch to secure the elastic connector on the inside of the cuff. The connector extends from an opening in the cuff and includes a button opening at a distal end of the elastic connector. This button opening attaches to a button provided on the outer surface of the sleeve cuff to secure the sleeve in the closed position. Due to the elastic nature of the connector the sleeve may be expanded as desired to roll the sleeve up an individual's arm.

In reference to FIG. 1, a view of the inside of sleeve 20 is depicted. The sleeve 20 includes a cuff 22 with an elastic connector 32 stitched on the inner surface of the cuff 22. A stitched attachment 34 is depicted on a proximate end of the elastic connector 32. The elastic connector 32 extends vertically as shown in FIG. 1 out of an opening 24 provided in the cuff 22. A button opening 36 is provided at a distal end of the elastic connector 32. This button opening 36 is provided to insert a button on the outer surface of the cuff 22. FIG. 2 depicts the outer surface of the cuff 22 that includes a button 26, which closes and secures the clip in position. The button opening 36 is inserted over button 26 to secure the sleeve in a closed position. The elastic connector 32 may vary length and allow for the expansion of the cuff once in a closed position. This expansion enables an individual to maneuver the cuff over their arm without unbuttoning the cuff.

The elastic connector is advantageous in that it may be applied to various dress shirts that have a cuff. The elastic connector is hidden during normal wear of the shirt, therefore it does not diminish the overall look or style of the shirt. The elastic connector does enable the user to easily roll up their sleeve without unbuttoning the shirt cuff and therefore gives the individual flexibility in the wear and use of their shirt.

Claims

1. A sleeve cuff modification for a sleeve cuff comprising:

an elastic connector, where the elastic connector extends from a sleeve opening in the sleeve cuff;
a stitched attachment on a proximate end of the elastic connector, where the stitched attachment secures the elastic connector within the sleeve cuff;
a button opening at a distal end of the elastic connector, where the button opening extends out of the sleeve opening for attachment to a button on an outer surface of the cuff.

2. The sleeve cuff modification according to claim 1, where the button opening is a slit.

3. The sleeve cuff modification according to claim 1, where the button and stitched attachment are connected in a single stitched configuration.

4. The sleeve cuff modification according to claim 1, where the elastic connector varies in length.
