CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 61/902651, filed 11 Nov. 2013, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to organizational devices and, more particularly, to an organizer for kitchen essentials.

Current products on the market for organizing kitchen tools, cooking utensils and cooking ingredients take up too much space as they are all sold individually, and so there is no unitary device out there that keeps it all organized. As a result, those who work in kitchens have all their kitchen essentials spread out throughout the cooking area and beyond.

As can be seen, there is a need for an organizer for kitchen essentials facilitating a tidy kitchen or cooking area.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides an organizer station for conveniently organizing and retaining a plurality of essential tools. The organizer station may comprise a cabinet base defining a compartment space, wherein a front portion of the cabinet base forms an access opening to the compartment space; a plurality of hooks provided by the cabinet base; a cabinet top provided by the cabinet base; a cookbook stand pivotably mounted to the cabinet top so that the cookbook stand pivots to a visually accessible position and a prone position; at least one door pivotably mounted along the access opening so as to be positionable in an open position and a closed position encasing the compartment space; at least one door shelf operably attached along each door; a plurality of storage components housed within the compartment space; and a plurality of sub-compartment spaces defined by the compartment spaces and the plurality of storage components.

Referring to FIGS. 1 through 6, the present invention may include an organizer station 100 for conveniently organizing and retaining a plurality of essential tools. The organizer station 100 may be a kitchen organizer for organizing and retaining kitchen essentials, including but not limited to pots, pans, dishes, strainers, colanders, cooking gloves, clips, cheese grater, baking racks measuring spoons, corkscrew, can opener, bottle opener, peeler, basting brush, rolling slicer, kitchen scissors, spice containers, sauce dispensers, various knives, various spoons, serving spoons, mixing spoons, forks, whip, tongs, spatulas, cookbooks and the like. The organizer station 100 may include a cabinet base 10, a cabinet top 12 and doors 14 that define a compartment space.

The cabinet base 10 may form a geometric shape, including but not limited to cubic shape, or a non-geometric shape. The cabinet base 10 may have a front portion forming an access opening communicating with the compartment space. The cabinet base 10 may provide a plurality of hooks 32 for hanging measuring spoons, pots, cups and other kitchen essentials.

Each door 14 may have a front surface and a back surface. The front surface of each door 14 may provide at least one door shelf 16 adapted to hold a plurality of kitchen essentials, such as but not limited to spice jars 44 or other cooking ingredients. Each door shelf 16 may include a shelf member, a wall member and end walls. Each door shelf 16 is generally disposed perpendicular to the respective front surface. Each door shelf 16 may be securely and conventionally attached along its shelf member upon the respective front surface. In an alternate embodiment, each end wall may be securely and conventionally attached at one end to the front surface of the door 14. A plurality of door hinges 34 may pivotably mount each door 14 along the access opening so that the doors 14 move to a closed position and an open position. Each door 14 may provide a door pull 26 for facilitating the doors' 14 movement to the closed and the open positions.

The cabinet top 12 may provide a cookbook stand 18 that is pivotably mounted thereto by a hinge mechanism 20 so as to be positionable in a visually accessible position and a prone position. The cookbook stand 18 may be adapted to support a plurality of objects, including but not limited to cookbooks and recipe cards, so as to be positioned in the visually accessible position to a user of the cabinet top 12. The cookbook stand 18 may be removably secured in the visually accessible position by a stand support 24 disposed on the cabinet top 12. The cookbook stand 18 may provide a page keeper 22 for retaining the plurality of objects on the cookbook stand 18.

The compartment space may house a plurality of storage components including at least one upper drawer 28, at least one interior drawer 36 and at least one shelf 38 for storing kitchen essentials. Each upper drawer 28 may include a drawer pull 30 for facilitating the opening and the closing of the upper drawer 28. The plurality of storage components 28, 36, 38 may be removable so as to create additional available space within the compartment space. The compartment space may include a plurality of sub-compartment spaces including at least one under-shelf storage area 40 and at least one book shelf storage area 42 for larger kitchen essentials such as bowls, pots and cookbooks.

In certain embodiments, the at least one upper drawer 28 may be disposed along a top portion of the compartment space coinciding with a bottom surface of the cabinet top. The at least one interior drawer 36 may be disposed downwardly of the at least one upper drawer 28 so as to provide generally maximum space for the at least one under-shelf storage area 40 and the at least one shelf 38. A storage space may be defined by each interior drawer and each respective shelf. A top portion of each under-shelf storage area may form the respective shelf 38 adapted to provide a supporting surface for a plurality of kitchen essentials within the storage space. The storage space may communicate with the at least one book shelf storage area 42 so as to be adapted to retain large and/or oddly shaped kitchen essentials, like large pots or fryers. The at least one upper drawer 28 may define a portion of the at least one book shelf storage area 42.

A method of using the present invention may include the following. The organizer station 100 disclosed above may be provided. A user could prop a cookbook and related clippings of a recipe on the cookbook stand 18 so that the page keeper 22 retains said cookbook and clippings in the visually accessible position. Then the user may access the compartment space, the plurality of door shelves and/or the hooks 32 to gather and utilize the plurality of kitchen essentials stored thereon so as to complete the recipe using the cabinet top 12 in a non-cluttered, streamlined fashion.

In certain embodiments, the organizer station 100 may be used in the bathroom, bedrooms, work bench areas and the like so as to organize such area's essentials and tools.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
