Handy Hanging Strip For Exercise Pants Or Shorts

Abstract

Present invention teaches to a flexible strip material made to the outside area of a pair of shorts or pants, where a narrow openable gap is formed for the wearer of the pants or shorts to wedge a towel or other small gadgets securely in place.

Description

FIELD AND BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to sports pants or shorts. More specifically, the invention is an add-on strip that creates an easy hanging mechanism for towels, or other small and light gadgets for convenient usage by the wearer of the shorts or pants.

The inventive substance originates from a jogger's perspective to have an easy storage and access to the use of a towel. Although most exercise shorts or pants would have a pocket, or more than one pockets, the volume of the pocket(s) is usually sized to fit credit cards, keys, small snacks or gel pack for hydration. In terms of holding/storing a towel that would effectively help to take care of the user's sweaty need to accommodate a towel (or two), these pockets do not help.

On these considerations, present invention avoids sticking a towel in the pocket, or holding it in hands, and creates an external “storage space” on the shorts of pants worn by the jogger.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

By attached a strip of flexible material to the outside surface of a pair of shorts (or pants), a wearer can easily stick a towel to the gap created by the strip, securely, and for easy access to the towel, instead of inserting the towel to the pocket(s), or holding in the hands. The color, pattern and material of the strip can be made to match the color, pattern or material of the outside surface of the shorts or pants. The strip can be made of the same color/pattern as the surface area of the pants or shorts it is attached to, or other decorative color/pattern that suits the general fashion or user's taste and preference.

An additional central location of the strip can be made to be fixed to the outside surface of the shorts or pants, so as to create a two-segment openable gaps, allowing the user a simple way of storing and accessing different objects (like a towel or other objects that can be clipped to the strip) with some organizational structure.

A brief description of the drawings is as follows:

FIG. 1 shows the side view of a pair of short with the strip of present invention. It shows a color tone arrangement that made it stand out from the waist band area.

FIG. 2 shows the partial blow-up view of the strip, with a towel inserted through the openable gap.

FIG. 3 shows the partial blow-up view of the strip, with an additional central point fixed to the outside surface of the shorts. In this embodiment, the outside surface of the shorts is the horizontal waist band area.

FIG. 4 shows the flexible strip attached to the waist band area of a pair of shorts, with the generally same color tone, in terms of back-and-white representation shown herein.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

As shown in FIG. 1, a strip 10 of flexible fabric material is shown, with a left end 21 and right end 29 fixed to a waist band 50 area of a pair of shorts 100. The material of the strip 10 can be regular textile, cloth, or synthetic material, either elastic or not, as long as it provides the needed narrow gap for the intended purpose disclosed herein.

The strip 10 can be fixed in a manner that's not horizontal or parallel to the waist band 50. For example, the strip 10 can be fixed in a 45-degree fashion near the side pocket area. Such 45-degree indication needs no illustration herein.

An openable gap 15 will be formed by the two ends 21/29, the strip 10 and the surface of the shorts where the strip 10 was fixed to.

This gap 15 allows the wearer of the shorts (or pants) 100 to easily put something, like a towel T, through the gap 15, for easy access to the towel T when exercising, such as jogging, while keeping the towel T securely wedged in the gap space created by such construction.

A wearer of a pair of shorts or pants can then easily take up the towel, or other small gadgets, wedged in the gap, or clipped to the strip 10. Since the gap 15 is relatively narrow, the towel T or other things wedged therein are very secure.

The material, pattern or color of the strip can be made to match the material, pattern or color of the surface area that it is attached to. In a preferred embodiment, the attached area can be the waist band area 50.

An alternative embodiment would have an additional point of attachment, generally in the center point of said strip 10, so that the openable gap becomes a two-segment construction, thus having gap 15a and gap 15b, as shown in FIG. 3, allowing the placement of external object (like a towel) to have a divided access space/mechanism.

FIG. 4 is a contrast view to show, in a black-and-white rendition, that the flexible strip 10 material can be made to “blend in” to the background waist band area.

Claims

1. Handy hanging strip for exercise pants or shorts, comprising:

a. A strip of flexible fabric material having two ends fixed to the outside surface of a pair of the pants or shorts; and,

b. Said strip forming an openable gap where an object such as a towel can be wedged therein.

2. The hanging strip of claim 1, wherein the two ends are fixed in a horizontal fashion to the waist band area of the pants of shorts.

3. The hanging strip of claim 1, wherein the color and pattern of the strip material is similar to the color and pattern of the material of the outside surface area of the pants or shorts.

4. The hanging strip of claim 1, wherein an additional central point on said strip is further fixed to the outside surface of the pants or shorts, creating a two-segment openable gaps on the space between said strip and the surface of the pants or shorts.
