Description
BACKGROUND

Various attachments and accessories are mounted onto a firearm by engagement of the accessory's mounting system and the features of the rail. Some examples of such features, taken in a non-limiting fashion, include laser sights, night vision scoped, flashlights, tactical sights, deflectors and bolt assist assembly and even sling mounts. Standard firearms have a weaver rail, with some variations having a picatinny rail mounting system. It is therefore desirable to provide an upper receiver wherein different configurations of the upper receiver mounting system can be provided.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for mounting accessories and attachments onto the upper receiver of a firearm. Furthermore, the apparatus will feature a groove as well as locking slots situated at various intervals above, within, or below the groove.
