EYELINER STENCIL AND EYELINER APPLICATION METHOD THEREFOR

An eyeliner stencil includes a transparent first layer which includes first top and bottom surfaces, a first outer outline, and a first inner outline which defines one or more openings in the first layer. And a second layer which includes a transparent section, one more opaque sections, second top and bottom surfaces and second inner and outer outlines. The second inner outline defines the one or more opaque sections and separates the transparent and opaque sections. The second bottom surface is at least partially adhered to the first top surface. In an assembled position, the opaque section is positioned on top of and at least a partially overlaps, the opening.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The subject matter of the current application relates to makeup. Specifically, it relates to eyeliner stencils or templates.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Eyeliner stencils of the field are known and disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 3,485,251.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In accordance with the subject matter of the present application there is provided an eyeliner stencil for eyelid eyeliner application.

The eyeliner includes an at least partially transparent first layer which includes first top and bottom surfaces, a first outer outline and a first inner outline which defines one or more openings in the first layer.

A second layer which includes an at least partially transparent section and one or more opaque sections, second top and bottom surfaces and second inner and outer outlines. The second inner outline defines the one or more opaque sections and separates the at least partially transparent and opaque sections. The second bottom surface is at least partially adhered to the first top surface.

In an assembled position, the first and second layers are joined, and the opaque section is positioned on top of, and at least a partially overlaps, the opening.

In accordance with the subject matter of the present application there is further provided an eyeliner application method for use with the stencil and includes the following steps:

    • a) In an assembled position, placing and pressing-on the stencil at a desired position over an eyelid, while using the opaque section as an indication of location for an eyeliner application area.
    • b) Removing the second layer from the first layer, thus moving the stencil into an application position.
    • c) Applying eyeliner on the eyelid within the first inner outline.
    • d) Removing the first layer from the eyelid.

Any of the following features, either alone or in combination, may be applicable to any of the above aspects of the subject matter of the application:

The opaque section fully overlaps the opening.

The first and second inner outlines can have the same shape.

The first and second layers can have respective first and second removal edges configured for easy removal of each respective layer, none of which are covered with an adhesive.

The first bottom surface can be at least partially covered with an at least partially transparent first adhesive.

The second bottom surface can be at least partially covered with an at least partially transparent second adhesive.

The first and second outer outlines do not have the same shape.

The first and second outer outlines can have the same shape.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In the following description, various aspects of the subject matter of the present application will be described. For purposes of explanation, specific configurations and details are set forth in sufficient detail to provide a thorough understanding of the subject matter of the present application. However, it will also be apparent to one skilled in the art that the subject matter of the present application can be practiced without the specific configurations and details presented herein.

According to the subject matter of the present application, an eyeliner stencil 10, 110 (or template, as it is sometimes referred to) include first and second layers 12, 112, 14, 114. Both layers can be made from, e.g., plastic, or silicone.

Attention is drawn to FIG. 1. The first layer 12 is at least partially transparent and has first top and bottom surfaces 16, 18 and first inner and outer outlines 20, 22. The first inner outline 20 encompasses, or defines, an opening 24 in the first layer 12. The opening 24 opens out to the first top and bottom surfaces 16, 18. In the present example, the first inner outline 20 can open out to the first outer outline 22. In the present example, the first inner outline 20 intersects with the first outer outline 22.

In the present disclosure, the term transparent is taken to mean that transparency of a material can vary from “fully transparent”, where almost all light passes through, and “at least partially transparent”, where only part of the light passes through.

The first inner outline 20 can have an elongated shape. It is, however, noted that the first inner outline 20, 120 can have any desired shape. The opening 24 is configured for allowing easy and accurate application of eyeliner 26 on a human eyelid. Thus, the final shape of the eyeliner 26 applied on the eyelid is set by the shape of the first inner outline 20.

The first bottom surface 18 is at least partially covered with a reusable, first adhesive material 28, or glue. The first adhesive 28 is at least partially transparent. The first adhesive 28 can be chosen to be safe for human skin application. The first adhesive 28 is also configured to be easily applicable to, and easily removable from, e.g., human skin. In other words, the first adhesive 28 is not permanent, and allows easy application/removal of the first layer 12 or the stencil 10 onto human skin.

The first layer 12 can have a first removal edge 30 at an end of the first outer outline 22. In the present example, the first removal edge 30 does not overlap any portion of the second layer 14. Thus, enabling easy holding of the first removal edge 30.

The second layer 14 includes second inner and outer outlines 32, 34, second top and bottom surfaces 36, 38 and transparent and opaque sections 40, 42. The transparent section 40 being at least partially transparent (not necessarily fully transparent). In other words, the transparent section 40 sufficiently transparent to allow the user to see the skin underneath it. The second inner outline 32 encompasses, or defines the opaque section 42 and separates each two sections. It is, however, noted that the second inner outline 32, 132, can have any desired shape. The first and second inner outlines 20, 32 can have the same shape. The second bottom surface 38 is at least partially covered with a reusable second adhesive material 44. In other words, the second adhesive 44 is not intended for permanent adhesion, and configured for reuse. The second bottom surface 38 can be covered by the second adhesive 44 at the transparent section 40. The second adhesive 44 is at least partially transparent. The first and second adhesives 28, 44 can be the same material. In the present example, the first and second outer outlines 22, 34 do not have the same shape (FIGS. 1-14). In another example, the first and second outer outlines 222, 234 have the same shape (FIGS. 15-17).

The second layer 14 can have a second removal edge 46 at an end of the second outer outline 34. In the present example, the second removal edge 46 is not covered by adhesive. In the present example, the second removal edge 46 does not overlap any portion of the first layer 12. Thus, enabling easy holding of the second removal edge 46.

The opaque section 42 can be free of adhesive at the second bottom surface 38.

Attention is drawn to FIGS. 12 to 14, where an example embodiment of the present application is shown. The first layer 112 is at least partially transparent and has first top and bottom surfaces 116, 118 and multiple first inner outlines 120 and an outer outline 122. Each first inner outline 120 encompasses, or defines, a respective opening 124 in the first layer 112. The openings 124 open out to the first top and bottom surfaces 116, 118. In the present embodiment, the first inner outlines 120 do not open out to the first outer outline 122. In the present embodiment, the first inner outlines 120 do not intersect the first outer outline 122. In the present embodiment, the first inner outlines 120 are star-shaped.

The first bottom surface 118 is at least partially covered with a reusable, first adhesive material 128, or glue. The first adhesive 128 is at least partially transparent. The first adhesive 128 can be chosen to be safe for human skin application. The first adhesive 128 is also configured to be easily applicable to, and easily removable from, e.g., human skin. In other words, the first adhesive 128 is not permanent, and allows easy application/removal of the first layer 112 or the stencil 110 onto human skin.

The first layer 112 can have a first removal edge 130 at an end of the first outer outline 122. In the present example, the first removal edge 130 does not overlap any portion of the second layer 114. Thus, enabling easy holding of the first removal edge 130.

The second layer 114 includes second inner outlines 132 and an outer outline 134, second top and bottom surfaces 136, 138 and transparent and opaque sections 140, 142. Each second inner outline 132 encompasses, or defines a respective opaque section 142 and separates each two sections. The first and second inner outlines 120, 132 can have the same shape. The second bottom surface 138 is at least partially covered with a reusable second adhesive material 144. The second adhesive 144 is at least partially transparent. The first and second adhesives 128, 144 can be the same material. In the present example, the first and second outer outlines 122, 134 do not have the same shape.

The second layer 114 can have a second removal edge 146 at an end of the second outer outline 134. In the present example, the second removal edge 146 is not covered by adhesive. In the present example, the second removal edge 146 does not overlap any portion of the first layer 112. Thus, enabling easy holding of the second removal edge 146. The stencil 10,110 can have an assembled position and an application position. In the assembled position (FIGS. 1, 5-6), the first and second layers 12, 112, 14, 114 are joined, or adhered together, and the second bottom surface 38, 138 is in contact with the first top surface 16, 116 (with, or without glue/adhesive). The two layers can be glued together by the second adhesive 44, 144 (FIGS. 1, 5, 11 and 12). In the assembled position, the stencil 10, 110 can either be used to choose the correct orientation on the eyelid, or stored in a case for reuse. In the assembled position, the opaque section 42, 142 is located above, or on top of, the opening 24, 124. The opaque section 42, 142 can overlap the opening 24, 124 (FIG. 5). In the present example, the opaque section 42, 142 completely, and exactly, overlaps the opening 24, 124. In other words, the first and second inner outlines 20, 120, 32, 132 can have the same shape and size. The reason for the location of the opaque section 42, 142 with respect to the opening 24, 124 is that a user chooses the correct orientation of the opaque section 42, 142 on the eyelid, and by doing so, he consequently sets the location where the user will eventually apply the eyeliner 26 on the eyelid. In other words, the orientation of the opaque section 42, 142 on the eyelid directly affects the orientation of a shape of an eyeliner 26 applied on the eyelid.

In the application position (FIGS. 7-8), the first and second layers 12, 112, 14, 114 are separate, and the first layer 12, 112 is in contact with, or adhered to, the eyelid, at the desired orientation.

An eyeliner application method for use with the stencil 10, 110 can include the following steps:

    • a) in the assembled position, placing and pressing-on the stencil 10, 110 (in order to temporarily attach it onto the eyelid) at a desired orientation over an eyelid, while using the opaque section 42, 142 as an indication of location for an eyeliner application area;
    • b) setting up the stencil 10, 110 in an application position by pulling on the second removal edge 46, 146 and completely removing/separating the second layer 14, 114 from the first layer 12, 112, thus leaving only the first layer 12, 112 attached onto the eyelid (FIG. 7).
    • c) applying eyeliner 26 on the eyelid within the boundaries of the first inner outline 20, 120,
    • d) removing the first layer 12, 112 from the eyelid by pulling on the first removal edge 30, 130.

It is noted that in FIG. 11, although each layer appears to have a different thickness, they can have the same thickness.

10. An eyeliner stencil for eyelids, the stencil comprising: wherein the second bottom surface is at least partially joined to the top surface, and wherein the at least one opaque section is positioned on top of, and at least partially overlaps, the at least one opening.

a first layer, comprising: a top surface; a first inner outline, defining at least one opening in the first layer; and
a second layer, comprising: an at least partially transparent section; at least one opaque section; a second bottom surface; a second inner outline, wherein the second inner outline defines the at least one opaque section and separates between the at least partially transparent and opaque sections,

11. The stencil according to claim 10, wherein the first layer is at least partially transparent.

12. The stencil according to claim 10, wherein the second layer further comprises a second top surface.

13. The stencil according to claim 10, wherein the at least one opaque section fully overlaps the opening.

14. The stencil according to claim 10, wherein the shape of the first inner outline corresponds to the shape of the second inner outline.

15. The stencil according to claim 10, wherein the first and second layers have respective first and second removal edges configured for easy removal of each respective layer.

16. The stencil according to claim 10, wherein the first layer further comprises a first bottom surface, and wherein the first bottom surface is at least partially covered with a first adhesive.

17. The stencil according to claim 16, wherein the first adhesive is at least partially transparent.

18. The stencil according to claim 10, wherein the second bottom surface is at least partially covered with a second adhesive.

19. The stencil according to claim 18, wherein the second adhesive is at least partially transparent.

20. The stencil according to claim 10, wherein the first layer further comprises a first outer outline and the second layer further comprises a second outer outline, and wherein the shape of the first outer outline is different from the shape of the second outer outline.

21. The stencil according to claim 10, wherein the first layer further comprises a first outer outline and the second layer further comprises a second outer outline, and wherein the shape of the first outer outline corresponds to the shape of the second outer outline.

22. An eyeliner application method for use with the stencil according to claim 10, comprising:

placing and pressing-on the stencil at a desired position over an eyelid, while using the at least one opaque section as an indication of location for an eyeliner application area;
removing the second layer from the first layer;
applying eyeliner on the eyelid within the first inner outline; and
removing the first layer from the eyelid.
