DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 7 thereof, a new garment device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 7, the garment assembly 10 generally comprises a panel 12. The panel 12 has a back surface 14, a first lateral side 16 and a second lateral side 18. The panel 12 is positionable on a front side 20 of the user's torso 22 so a back side 24 of the user's torso 22 is exposed. The back surface 14 of the panel 12 abuts the front side 20 of the user's torso 22. The assembly 10 helps the user 26 remain cool if the user 26 chooses to wear a jacket or other similar garment. The user 26 may be a female suffering from post menopausal body temperature fluctuations.

A top edge 28 of the panel 12 extends across the user's chest 30. A bottom edge 32 of the panel 12 extends across the user's waist 33. The top edge 28 of the panel 12 may have a length that is greater than a length of the bottom edge 32 of the panel 12. The panel 12 may have a trapezoidal shape.

A pair of upper straps 34 is each coupled to the back surface 14 of the panel 12. The pair of upper straps 34 extends laterally away from an associated one of the first 16 and second 18 lateral sides of the panel 12. Each of the pair of upper straps 34 is positioned proximate the top edge 28 of the panel 12. A first pair of couplers 36 and a second pair of couplers 38 is each coupled to an associated one of the pair of upper straps 34. The first 36 and second 38 pairs of couplers is spaced apart on the pair of upper straps 34. Each of the first 36 and second 38 pair of couplers may be snaps of any conventional design.

Each of the pair of upper straps 34 is wrapped around an associated one of a pair of shoulder straps 40 on the user's brasserie 42. Additionally, each of the first 36 and second 38 pairs of couplers on each of the pair of upper straps 34 engages one another. The pair of upper straps 34 are retained on each of the pair of shoulder straps 40 on the user's brasserie 42. The pair of upper straps 34 retains the panel 12 on the user's torso 22.

A pair of lower straps 44 is provided. Each of the pair of lower straps 44 is coupled to the back surface 14 of the panel 12. The pair of lower straps 44 each extends away from an associated one of the first 16 and second 18 lateral sides of the panel 12. Each of the pair of lower straps 44 are positioned proximate the bottom edge 32 of the panel 12. The pair of lower straps 44 is each wrapped around the user's waist 33 and tied together so the panel 12 is secured on the user's waist 33.

The back surface 14 of the panel 12 may have indicia 46 printed thereon. The indicia 46 may comprise a floral design or other similar decorative pattern. The panel 12 may be worn with either the back surface 14 of the panel 12 or a front surface 48 of the panel 12 abutting the user's torso 22.

Alternatively, the top edge 28 of the panel 12 is positioned proximate the user's neck 49. A pair of couplers 50 is coupled to an associated one of the pair of upper straps 34. Each of the pair of upper straps 34 are wrapped around the user's neck 49. The pair of couplers 50 engage one another so the pair of upper straps 34 are retained around the user's neck 49. The bottom edge 32 of the panel 12 is tucked into the user's skirt 52.

In use, a method 54 of covering the front side 20 of the user's torso 22 with a garment while leaving the back side 24 of the user's torso 22 exposed includes a step 56 of providing the panel 12, the pair of upper straps 34 that each has an associated one of the first 36 and second 38 pairs of couplers attached thereto and the pair of lower straps 44. The method 54 additionally includes a step 58 of positioning the panel 12 on the front side 20 of the user's torso 22. Further, the method 54 includes a step 60 of wrapping each of the pair of upper straps 34 around an associated one of the pair of shoulder straps 40 of the user's brasserie 42. The method 54 also includes a step 62 of coupling the first pair of couplers 36 together and the second pair of couplers 38 together. Continuing, the method 54 includes a step 64 of wrapping each of the pair of lower straps 44 around the user's waist 33. The method 54 finally includes a step 66 of tying each of the pair of lower straps 44 together.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure.
