Description
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to whisker capturing devices and more particularly pertains to a new whisker capturing device for preventing the dispersal of whiskers over a wide area during shaving with an electric razor by capturing the whiskers adjacent to a person's face.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a panel that has a top side, a bottom side, a first edge, a second edge, a third edge and a fourth edge wherein the first and second edges are positioned opposite of each other. The panel is flexible and has an aperture therein extending through the top and bottom sides and positioned adjacent to the first edge. The first edge has a break therein extending through the first edge and through a perimeter of the aperture. The aperture receives a person's neck. A pair of tabs is attached to the panel between the aperture and the first edge and the tabs are overlapped to close the break between the first edge and the aperture. A closure is mounted on the tabs to releasably couple the tabs together. A pair of minor engageable couplers is attached to the panel and extends away from the bottom side.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a whisker catching assembly and method according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a top perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 4 is a side in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new whisker capturing device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the whisker catching assembly and method 10 generally comprises a panel 12 that has a top side 14, a bottom side 16, a first edge 18, a second edge 20, a third edge 22 and a fourth edge 24 wherein the first 18 and second 20 edges are positioned opposite of each other. The panel 12 is comprised of a flexible material which may include elastomers, cloth, canvas, leather, plastics and the like. The panel 12 is elongated from the first edge 16 to the second edge 18. Further, the panel 12 has an aperture 26 therein extending through the top 14 and bottom 16 sides that is positioned adjacent to the first edge 18. The first edge 18 has a break 28 therein extending through the first edge 18 and through a perimeter of the aperture 26 so that a person will have access to the aperture 26. In this manner the aperture 26 is configured to receive a person's neck 30. The panel 12 has a length from the first edge 18 to the second edge 20 between 36 inches and 60 inches and a width from the third edge 22 to the forth edge 24 between 24 inches and 42 inches. The aperture 26 has a circumference between 14 inches and 22 inches.

A pair of tabs 32 is attached to the panel 12 between the aperture 26 and the first edge 18. The tabs 32 overlap to close the break 28 between the first edge 18 and the aperture 26. A closure 34 is mounted on the tabs to releasably couple the tabs 32 together. The closure 34 includes a first mating member 36 attached to one of the tabs 32 and a second mating member 38 attached to another one of the tabs 32. The closer 34 may comprise a hook and loop closure. Though other closure means, such as a magnetic closure, may also be used.

A pair of couplers 40 is attached to the panel 12 and extends away from the bottom side 16. The couplers 40 are configured to releasably engage a mirror 50. Each of the couplers 40 comprises a suction cup 42 and a mount 44 attached to the suction cup 42. The mount 44 is attached to the panel 12 and may be releasably attached to the panel 12. For instance, the mount 44 may include a hook extendable through one of a plurality of aligned openings 46 extending through the panel 12 and positioned adjacent to the second edge 20. The aligned openings 46 include a first set of aligned openings 48 positioned adjacent to the third edge 22 and extending from the second edge 20 toward the first edge 18 and a second set of aligned openings 49 positioned adjacent to the fourth edge 24 and extending from the second edge 20 toward the first edge 18. The aligned openings 50 allow the user to selective determine the space between the couplers 40, i.e. the mirror 50, and the aperture 26, i.e. the person's neck 30. The hooks, or mounts 44, each terminate with a bulbous portion 52 to resist accidental removal from the openings 46.

In use, the user places the couplers 40 where desired on the panel 12 and then attaches them to the mirror 50 while also placing their neck 30 in the aperture 26. The closure 34 is used to retain the panel 12 on the user's neck 30. The user then shaves in a conventional manner so their head is positioned over the top side 14 to capture whiskers 54 as the person is shaving. Once finished, the user may roll up or fold the panel 12 and discard the whiskers 54 in a waste bin or in the sink.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
