Portable Urinal Assembly

A portable urinal assembly for collecting and storing urine includes a cup that may be utilized for urination. A lid is removably positioned to cover the cup. A reservoir is operationally coupled to the cup. The reservoir may contain the urine thereby preventing the urine from contaminating an area.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to urinal devices and more particularly pertains to a new urinal device for collecting and storing urine.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a cup that may be utilized for urination. A lid is removably positioned to cover the cup. A reservoir is operationally coupled to the cup. The reservoir may contain the urine thereby preventing the urine from contaminating an area.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new urinal device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the portable urinal assembly 10 generally comprises a cup 12 that may be utilized for urination. The cup 12 has a bottom wall 14 and a peripheral wall 16 extending upwardly from the bottom wall 14. The peripheral wall 16 has a distal edge 18 with respect to the bottom wall 14 and the distal edge 18 defines an opening 20 into the cup 12. Thus, the opening 20 may receive urine 22. The peripheral wall 16 has a front side 24 and a back side 26. The bottom wall 14 has an upper surface 28 and the upper surface 28 slopes inwardly toward a center 30 of the bottom wall 14. The bottom wall 14 slopes downwardly between the back side 26 and the front side 24.

A nozzle 32 is attached to and extends downwardly from the bottom wall 14 and the nozzle 32 is substantially hollow. The nozzle 32 is in fluid communication with an interior of the cup 12 such that the nozzle 32 may drain the urine 22 from the cup 12. The cup 12 has a handle 34 that is coupled to the back side 26 such that the handle 34 may be gripped. The handle 34 includes a foot 36 forming an angle with a leg 38. The foot 36 is coupled to the cup 12 such that the leg 38 is spaced from the cup 12.

A lid 40 is removably positioned to cover the cup 12. The lid 40 has a perimeter edge 42, a top portion 44 and a bottom portion 46. The perimeter edge 42 corresponding to the bottom portion 46 is inset with respect to the perimeter edge 42 corresponding to the top portion 44. The lid 40 engages the distal edge 18 such that the perimeter edge 42 corresponding to the bottom portion 46 abuts the peripheral wall 16. The lid 40 forms a fluid impermeable seal with the distal edge 18 such that the lid 40 may prevent the urine 22 from being released from the cup 12. A tether 48 is coupled between the foot 36 and the lid 40 such that the lid 40 is coupled to the cup 12.

A reservoir 50 is operationally coupled to the cup 12 such that the reservoir 50 may contain the urine 22 thereby preventing the urine 22 from contaminating an area. The reservoir 50 comprises a bottle 52 that has a top end 54. The top end 54 is open and the bottle 52 contains the urine 22. A conduit 56 is fluidly coupled between the nozzle 32 and the top end 54 such that the conduit 56 directs the urine 22 into the bottle 52.

The conduit 56 comprises a valve 58 that has an inlet 60 and an outlet 62. The inlet 60 threadably receives the nozzle 32 such that the valve 58 is fluidly coupled to the nozzle 32. The valve 58 has a handle 64 positioned thereon such the handle 64 may be manipulated to position the valve 58 in a closed position and an open position. The valve 58 allows the urine 22 to flow through the outlet 62 when the valve 58 is in the open position. The valve 58 restricts the urine 22 from flowing through the outlet 62 when the valve 58 is in the closed position. The valve 58 may comprise a ball valve or the like.

A nipple 66 is provided that has a first end 68 and a second end 70. The nipple 66 is substantially hollow and the first end 68 threadably engages the outlet 62 such that the nipple 66 is fluidly coupled to the outlet 62. A fitting 72 is provided that has a first end 74 and a second end 75. The fitting 72 is substantially hollow and the first end 74 of the fitting 72 is fluidly coupled to the top end 54 of the bottle 52. A gasket 76 is positioned between the fitting 72 and top end 54 such that the fitting 72 forms a fluid impermeable seal with the bottle 52. A hose 78 is coupled between the second end 70 of the nipple 66 and the second end 75 of the fitting 72. Thus, the hose 78 directs the urine 22 from the valve 58 into the bottle 52.

In use, the reservoir 50 is coupled to the cup 12. The cup 12 is urinated in when a user is hunting such that the urine 22 is prevented from contaminating an area with a human odor. The lid 40 is positioned on the cup 12 such that the urine 22 is prevented from spilling from the cup 12. The valve 58 is manipulated into the open position such that the urine 22 is drained from the cup 12 and contained in the bottle 52. The valve 58 may be manipulated into the closed position such that the cup 12 retains the urine 22. The urine 22 may be drained into the bottle 52 while hunting or after hunting. The bottle 52 is emptied after the hunting is completed.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A portable urinal assembly comprising:

a cup being configured to contain urine;
a lid being removably positioned to cover said cup; and
a reservoir being operationally coupled to said cup wherein said reservoir is configured to contain the urine thereby preventing the urine from contaminating an area.

2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said cup has a bottom wall and a peripheral wall extending upwardly from said bottom wall, said peripheral wall having a distal edge with respect to said bottom wall, said distal edge defining an opening into said cup wherein said opening is configured to receive the urine, said peripheral wall having a front side and a back side.

3. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said bottom wall has an upper surface, said upper surface sloping inwardly toward a center of said bottom wall, said bottom wall sloping downwardly between said back side and said front side.

4. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said cup has a nozzle being attached to and extending downwardly from said bottom wall, said nozzle being substantially hollow, said nozzle being in fluid communication with an interior of said cup wherein said nozzle is configured to drain the urine from said cup.

5. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said cup has a handle being coupled to said back side wherein said handle is configured to be gripped, said handle comprising a foot forming and angle with a leg, said foot being coupled to said cup such that said leg is spaced from said cup.

6. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said lid engages said distal edge, said lid forming a fluid impermeable seal with said distal edge wherein said lid is configured to prevent the urine from being released from said cup.

7. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein:

said cup has a handle, said handle having a foot; and
a tether being coupled between said foot and said lid such that said lid is coupled to said cup.

8. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said reservoir comprises a bottle having a top end, said top end being open, said bottle being configured to contain the urine.

9. The assembly according to claim 8, wherein:

said cup has a nozzle; and
said reservoir further comprises a conduit being fluidly coupled between said nozzle and said top end wherein said nozzle is configured to direct the urine into said bottle.

10. The assembly according to claim 9, wherein said conduit comprises a valve having an inlet and an outlet, said inlet being fluidly coupled to said nozzle, said valve having a handle positioned thereon wherein said handle is configured to be manipulated to position said valve in a closed position and an open position.

11. The assembly according to claim 10, wherein said conduit further comprises a hose being coupled between said outlet and said top end wherein said hose is configured to direct the urine from said valve into said bottle.

12. A portable urinal assembly comprising:

a cup being configured to contain urine, said cup having a bottom wall and a peripheral wall extending upwardly from said bottom wall, said peripheral wall having a distal edge with respect to said bottom wall, said distal edge defining an opening into said cup wherein said opening is configured to receive the urine, said peripheral wall having a front side and a back side, said bottom wall having an upper surface, said upper surface sloping inwardly toward a center of said bottom wall, said bottom wall sloping downwardly between said back side and said front side, said cup having a nozzle being attached to and extending downwardly from said bottom wall, said nozzle being substantially hollow, said nozzle being in fluid communication with an interior of said cup wherein said nozzle is configured to drain the urine from said cup, said cup having a handle being coupled to said back side wherein said handle is configured to be gripped, said handle comprising a foot forming and angle with a leg, said foot being coupled to said cup such that said leg is spaced from said cup;
a lid being removably positioned to cover said cup, said lid engaging said distal edge, said lid forming a fluid impermeable seal with said distal edge wherein said lid is configured to prevent the urine from being released from said cup;
a tether being coupled between said foot and said lid such that said lid is coupled to said cup; and
a reservoir being operationally coupled to said cup wherein said reservoir is configured to contain the urine thereby preventing the urine from contaminating an area, said reservoir comprising: a bottom having a top end, said top end being open, said bottle being configured to contain the urine, and a conduit being fluidly coupled between said nozzle and said top end wherein said nozzle is configured to direct the urine into said bottle, said conduit comprising: a valve having an inlet and an outlet, said inlet being fluidly coupled to said nozzle, said valve having a handle positioned thereon wherein said handle is configured to be manipulated to position said valve in a closed position and an open position, and a hose being coupled between said outlet and said top end wherein said hose is configured to direct the urine from said valve into said bottle.
