Description

This disclosure claims the priority of Chinese patent application No. 201210457222.7, entitled “cassette for storing sheet medium” filed with the State Intellectual Property Office on Nov. 14, 2012, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE

The disclosure relates to a cassette for storing sheet media.

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

The self-service equipment, such as an automatic teller machine and a self-service card issuing machine, is provided with a cassette for storing sheet media such as banknotes or cards, wherein a pressing plate for stacking the sheet media and a driving mechanism for driving the pressing plate to elastically press the sheet media towards an opening of the cassette are arranged in the cassette, and when the sheet media continuously enter the cassette or are continuously discharged from the cassette, the pressing plate, under the driving of the driving mechanism, can always press the sheet media at the opening of the cassette in order.

A pressing plate driving mechanism for a cassette is disclosed in Chinese patent with the application number of 201110271197.9, and the cassette is used for storing cards to be issued. As shown in FIG. 1, A cassette 1′ includes a pressing plate 2′, a lead screw 5′, a volute spring 4′ and a nut 9′, wherein a plate surface of the pressing plate 2′ extends into the cassette for supporting stacked cards; the lead screw 5′ is located on one side of the pressing plate 2′, extends along a stacking direction of the cards in the cassette, is in threaded connection with the nut 9′ on a side edge of the pressing plate 2′, and can drive the pressing plate 2′ to move along the stacking direction of the cards when rotating; and an inner circle end of the volute spiral spring 4′ is in transmission connection with the lead screw 5′, and an outer circle end of the volute spring 4′ is fixedly connected with an inner wall of the cassette 1′. When external force or the cards press the pressing plate 2′ downwards when the cards are received, the nut 9′ drives the lead screw 5′ to rotate, thereby tightly winding the volute spring 4′ to accumulate the force; and when the cards are discharged, the volute spring 4′ applies force to the lead screw 5′ to enable the lead screw 5′ to rotate reversely, thereby lifting the pressing plate 2′ to elastically press the top first card at an outlet 6′.

The pressing plate driving mechanism has a problem that the lead screw 5′ for driving the pressing plate 2′ to move is located on a single side of the pressing plate 2′ and the pressing plate 2′ is easily inclined relative to the lead screw 5′ to increase transmission resistance between the nut 9′ and the lead screw 5′ when the sheet media stacked on the pressing plate 2′ are heavier, so that noise during the movement of the pressing plate 2′ is increased, and relative movement between the nut 9′ and the lead screw 5′ may be hindered to cause that the pressing plate 2′ cannot move smoothly and lower movement reliability.

In the other embodiment, the pressing plate 5 and the support frame 4 can be integrally formed under the condition of no adaptive regulation requirement.

Preferably, two operating recesses 43 are formed symmetrically about a width centre in the side, close to the opening A, of the support frame 4, so that it is convenient to operate when a force is applied to drive the support frame 4 to move in a direction away from the opening A, and the support frame 4 can be uniformly stressed and prevented from being inclined.

Working processes when the cassette provided by the disclosure is empty and the sheet media are fed into and discharged from the cassette will be introduced below.

FIG. 6 is a local structure view of a cassette which is empty according to an embodiment of the disclosure, and FIG. 7 is a local structure view of a cassette which is loaded according to an embodiment of the disclosure. As shown in FIG. 6, when the cassette is empty, the elastic accumulation element 62 is wound on the driving shaft 61 with a smaller preloading force, the pressing plate is pressed against the rear wall 12 (i.e. the limiting surface), and the first gears 631 and the second gears 632 are engaged with the first racks 641 and the second racks 642 respectively, and are located a position close to the opening A. As shown in FIG. 7, when the cassette is fed, the support frame 4 and the pressing plate 5 move in the direction away from the opening A under the action of external force, that is, the support frame 4 and the pressing plate 5 are pressed towards a front part of the box body 1 from back to front, the first gears 631 and the second gears 632 rotate at the same time of moving away from the opening A along the first racks and the second racks, the first gears 631 rotate to drive the driving shaft 61 to rotate along with the first gears 631 to continuously and tightly wind the elastic energy storage element 62, and when the support frame 4 and the pressing plate 5 reach the front part of the box body 1, that is, when the cassette is full, the elastic energy storage element 62 is tightly wound to pre-accumulate preset energy, at this time, under the action of the elastic energy storage element 62, the pressing plate 5 closely presses the sheet media onto the rear wall 12 (i.e. the limiting surface).

When the sheet media in the cassette are continuously discharged, along with continuous decrease of the sheet media between the pressing plate 5 and the rear wall 12, the elastic energy storage element 62 releases the accumulated energy to drive the driving shaft 61 to rotate so as to drive the first gears 631 and the second gears 632 to rotate and simultaneously move towards the opening A along the first racks 641 and the second racks 642, thereby driving the support frame 4 and the pressing plate 5 to move in the direction close to the opening A, along the first racks 641 and the second racks 642, to closely press the stacked sheet media onto the rear wall 12 (i.e. the limiting surface) all the time.

The self-driven mechanism of the pressing plate assembly of the cassette provided by the disclosure includes the driving shaft parallel to the pressing plate, the elastic energy storage element wound on the driving shaft, and the two transmission assemblies located on the two sides of the pressing plate respectively, wherein each transmission assembly includes the guide rack and the travelling gear; the guide racks extend along the stacking direction of the sheet media; when the pressing plate is driven by the external force to move in the direction away from the opening A of the cassette, the travelling gears rotate at the same time of moving away from the opening A along the guide racks matched with the travelling gears to drive the driving shaft to rotate, and the elastic energy storage element accumulates energy; and in case of no external force, the elastic energy storage element releases the accumulated energy to drive the driving shaft to rotate to enable the travelling gears to rotate and simultaneously move in the direction close to the opening A along the guide racks matched with the travelling gears, thereby driving the pressing plate to move towards the opening A; therefore, the match between the travelling gears and the guide racks not only enables the elastic energy storage element wound on the driving shaft to accumulate energy, but also provides a function of guiding the movement of the pressing plate so as to ensure the stable movement of the pressing plate without inclination and improve the movement reliability of the pressing plate.

When the cassette is used for providing the sheet media for a sheet medium deposit device (that is, the sheet media are discharged from the opening A of the cassette), the pressing plate assembly 3 further includes a pressing plate backstop mechanism 8. As shown in FIG. 8 and FIG. 9, the pressing plate backstop mechanism 8 includes a rotating shaft 83, a pawl 81, and an elastic element 82, wherein the rotating shaft 83 is supported by a bracket 46 fixedly connected to the support frame 4, and an axis of the rotating shaft 83 is parallel to the driving shaft 61; the pawl 81 is pivoted to the support frame 4 through the rotating shaft 83, can rotate around the rotating shaft 83, and is provided with a guide surface 811; the distance between the end, close to the opening A, of the guide surface and the rotating shaft 83 is less than that between the end, away from the opening A, of the guide surface and the rotating shaft 83; correspondingly, a plurality of bayonets 181 (see FIG. 4) corresponding to a position of the pawl 81 are formed at intervals along the stacking direction of the sheet media in the inner wall of the upper cover 18, and the pawl 81 can be matched with one of the plurality of bayonets 181 in the clamping way; and one end of the elastic element 82 is connected with the pawl 81, the other end of the elastic element 82 is connected with the support frame 4, and the pawl 81 always tends to rotate towards the bayonets 181 around the rotating shaft 83 under the action of the elastic element 82. Preferably, the pawl 81 is located in the width centre of the box body 1.

Therefore, when the pressing plate assembly 3 moves in the direction close to the opening A under the action of the elastic energy storage element 62, the pawl 81 can sequentially pass through each bayonet 181 under the guide of the guide surface 811; and when the pressing plate assembly 3 is stressed to move in the direction away from the opening A in case of an accident such as falling of the cassette, the pawl 81 is matched with the closest bayonet 181 in the clamping way, thereby preventing the sheet media stacked between the pressing plate 5 and the limiting surface from being scattered.

The above is only the preferred embodiment of the disclosure and not intended to limit the disclosure, and for those skilled in the art, the disclosure can have various modifications and variations. Any modifications, equivalent replacements, improvements and the like within the spirit and principle of the disclosure shall fall within the scope of protection of the disclosure.
