Cabinet
A cabinet includes a frame and first and second drawers each coupled to the frame and arranged adjacent to one another. The first and second drawers are independently moveable relative to the frame between open and closed positions. Each of the drawers defines a drawer compartment, with the drawer compartment being disposed within an opening of the frame when the drawer is in the closed position and at least partially outside of the opening when the drawer is in the open position. The cabinet further includes a partition disposed within the drawer compartment of the first drawer to define opposing sections of the first drawer, and storage receptacles removeably mounted to the partition within the drawer compartment and accessible from each of the sections.

FIELD OF THE DISCLOSUREThe present disclosure relates generally a cabinet.
BACKGROUNDCabinets often used for storing or displaying articles of various types, sizes, and/or shapes. While cabinets may have various configurations, cabinets typically include doors and/or drawers which are accessible from the front of the cabinet. Some cabinets are configured with one or more drawers, with each drawer having a drawer compartment for storing one or more articles. Typically, the drawer compartment is an open compartment, and the article(s) can be placed within the open drawer compartment.
SUMMARYAn embodiment of the cabinet of the present disclosure comprises a frame defining an opening, first and second drawers each coupled to the frame arranged adjacent to one another and independently moveable relative to the frame between open and closed positions and each of the drawers defining a drawer compartment with the drawer compartment being disposed within the opening when the drawer is in the closed position and at least partially outside of the opening when the drawer is in the open position, a partition disposed within the drawer compartment of the first drawer to define opposing sections of the first drawer, and a plurality of storage receptacles removeably mounted to the partition within the drawer compartment and accessible from each of the sections.
Advantages of the present disclosure will be readily appreciated as the same becomes better understood by reference to the following detailed description when considered in connection with the accompanying drawings. It is to be appreciated that the drawings are merely illustrative and are not necessarily drawn to scale.
Referring now to the figures, wherein like numerals indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views, embodiments of a multi-purpose toolkit or cabinet 100 are shown and described in detail with reference to
As shown in
The first drawer 2 and the second drawer 3 are arranged adjacent one another. In an embodiment, the first drawer 2 and the second drawer 3 may be disposed in bilateral symmetry. In addition, and as shown at least in
The cabinet 100 further includes at least one track or slides 8 moveably coupled to the frame 4 for enabling the first drawer 2 to move between the open and closed positions. In the embodiment shown in
The first drawer 2 includes a horizontal floor or base 21, a front or vertical panel 22, and a back panel 24 with each of the panels 22, 24 extending vertically from the base 21 and substantially parallel to one another. As shown in
In an embodiment, and as shown in
As shown in
As previously mentioned, the parts bins or storage receptacles 23 may be individually removeably coupled to the partition or vertical support plate 25. More particularly, and in an embodiment, each of the storage receptacles 23 is or may be individually coupled to and removeable from the partition 25 by a respective one of the coupling mechanisms 30.
In an embodiment, the partition or vertical support plate 25 has at least one row of coupling mechanisms 30 for coupling the parts bins or storage receptacles 23 to the partition 25. In the embodiment shown in
The partition 25 further defines a plurality of coupling mechanisms 30 facing each of the opposing sections 26, 27. In this embodiment, a plurality of the storage receptacles 23 is or may be removeably coupled to the partition 25 within both of the opposing sections 26, 27 by a selected one of the coupling mechanisms 30. As shown, the coupling mechanisms 30 are accessible from each of the sections 26, 27. Further, each of the coupling mechanisms 30 accessible from one of the sections 26, 27 is aligned with a respective one of the coupling mechanisms 30 accessible from the other of the sections 26, 27. Alternatively, each of the coupling mechanisms 30 accessible from one of the sections 26, 27 could be unaligned with a respective one of the coupling mechanisms 30 accessible from the other of the sections 26, 27. Further, the coupling mechanisms 30 may be substantially uniformly defined on the partition 25 facing each of the sections 26, 27. Accordingly, the storage receptacles 23, which are coupled to the partition 25 by the coupling mechanisms 30, may be substantially uniformly distributed on the partition 25 facing each of the sections 26, 27. Alternatively, the coupling mechanisms 30 may be non-uniformly defined on the partition 25 facing each of the sections 26, 27. Accordingly, the storage receptacles 23, which are coupled to the partition 25 by the coupling mechanisms 30, may be staggered on the partition 25 facing each of the sections 26, 27.
In an embodiment, the partition or vertical support plate 25 has first 36 and second 37 panels or vertical sides that are fixed. As shown in
As shown at least in
The second drawer 3 further includes at least one track or slide 36 moveably coupled to the frame 4 for enabling the second drawer 3 to move between the open and closed positions. In the embodiment shown in
The cabinet 100 further includes the third or conventional drawer 1 extending across the opening 5 of the frame 4 and arranged above the first 2 and second 3 drawers. As shown in
In an embodiment, each of the first 2, second 3, and third 1 drawers includes a handle 10 for grasping for purposes of opening and/or closing the drawers 2, 3, 1.
The invention has been described in an illustrative manner, and it is be understood that the terminology which has been used is intended to be in the nature of words of description rather than of limitation. It is now apparent to those skilled in the art that many modifications and variations of the present invention are possible in light of the above teachings. It is, therefore, to be understood that the invention may be practiced otherwise than as specifically described.
