The disclosure relates to screen devices and more particularly pertains to a new screen device for providing privacy in a public area.

Summary of the Disclosure

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a screen that may be stretched around an area. A plurality of sleeves is provided and each of the sleeves is attached to the screen. A plurality of poles is provided and each of the poles is slidably inserted into an associated one of the sleeves. Thus, each of the poles may penetrate a support surface thereby facilitating the screen to be retained in an upright orientation with respect to the support surface. A plurality of caps is each removably positioned on an associated one of the poles. Each of the caps may be pressed downwardly thereby urging each of the poles into the support surface. A plurality of loops is each attached to the screen. A plurality of stakes is provided and each of the stakes is insertable through an associated one of the loops. The first end of each of the stakes penetrates the support surface thereby retaining each of the loops on the support surface.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is a kit view of a portable screen kit according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a top perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 4 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 5 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new screen device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the portable screen kit 10 generally comprises a screen 12 has a first end 14, a second end 16, a top edge 18, a bottom edge 20 and a back surface 22. The screen 12 may be stretched around an area 24. The area 24 may be located at a beach, a park or other area used for public gatherings. The screen 12 may be comprised of a flexible material thereby facilitating the screen 12 to be positioned in a selected shape. Additionally, the screen 12 may be comprised of an opaque material thereby preventing an observer from seeing through the screen 12.

A pair of flaps 26 is provided and each of the flaps 26 is attached to the screen 12. Each of the flaps 26 is positioned on an associated one of the first end 14 and the second end 16 and each of the flaps 26 extends substantially between the top edge 18 and the bottom edge 20. The flaps 26 comprise a first flap 28 and a second flap 30 and the first flap 28 has a plurality of openings 32 extending therethrough. The openings 32 are spaced apart from each other and distributed along the first flap 28.

A plurality of fasteners 34 is provided and each of the fasteners 34 is attached to the second flap 30. The fasteners 34 are spaced apart from each other and distributed along the second flap 30. Each of the fasteners 34 engages an associated one of the openings 32 in the second flap 30 such that the screen 12 forms a closed loop. Thus, the screen 12 may surround the area thereby facilitating the screen 12 to provide privacy for changing clothes. The fasteners 34 may comprise buttons or the like.

A plurality of sleeves 36 is provided and each of the sleeves 36 has a top end 38 and a bottom end 40. The top end 38 and the bottom end 40 of each of the sleeves 36 are open and each of the sleeves 36 is attached to the screen 12. Each of the sleeves 36 is positioned on the back surface 22 and the sleeves 36 are spaced apart from each other and distributed between the first end 14 and the second end 16. The sleeves 36 may be an integral part of the screen 12 or each of the sleeves 36 may be discrete elements coupled to the screen 12.

A plurality of poles 42 is provided and each of the poles 42 has a top end 44 and a bottom end 46. The bottom end 46 of each of the poles 42 tapers to a point. Each of the poles 42 is slidably inserted into the top end 38 of an associated one of the sleeves 36 wherein the bottom end 46 of each of the poles 42 may penetrate a support surface 48. Thus, the screen 12 may be retained in an upright orientation with respect to the support surface 48. The support surface 48 may be ground.

A plurality of caps 50 is provided and each of the caps 50 is removably positioned on the top end 44 of an associated one of the poles 42. Each of the caps 50 may be pressed downwardly thereby urging each of the poles 42 into the support surface 48. Each of the caps 50 may be removed from the associated pole 42 when the pole 42 is urged into the support surface 48. Alternatively, each of the caps 50 may be left on the associated pole 42 to enhance an appearance of each of the poles 42.

A plurality of loops 52 is provided and each of the loops 52 is attached to the screen 12. Each of the loops 52 is positioned on the bottom edge 20. Each of the loops 52 is spaced apart from each other and distributed between the first end 14 and the second end 16 of the screen 12. A plurality of stakes 54 is provided and each of the stakes 54 has a first end 56 and a second end 58. Each of the stakes 54 is curved between the first end 56 and the second end 58 and each of the stakes 54 is insertable through an associated one of the loops 52. Thus, the first end 56 of each of the stakes 54 may penetrate the support surface 48 thereby retaining each of the loops 52 on the support surface 48. The stakes 54 prevent the screen 12 from being urged upwardly on the poles 42.

In use, the screen 12 is positioned around the area 24 and each of the poles 42 is slid into the associated sleeves 36. Each of the caps 50 is positioned on the top end 44 of the associated poles 42 and the poles 42 are urged downwardly into the support surface 48. Each of the stakes 54 is inserted through the associated loop 52 and each of the stakes 54 is urged downwardly into the support surface 48. A user 60 enters the area 24 and the fasteners 34 are positioned to engage the associated openings 32 thereby facilitating the user 60 to disrobe without being observed.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
