CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of and takes priority from U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 62/200,395 filed on Aug. 3, 2015, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Field of the System

The present system pertains to head wear and more particularly to a multipurpose head wear device with a variety of storage compartments integrated within the head wear device.

Description of the Related Art

Headwear in the form of multipurpose head wear devices has been common place since before the patent system was even considered. Dating back to around 3200 B.C. the first multipurpose head wear device is believe to be depicted in an illustration on the wall of one of the Thebes tombs in Egypt. The first physical multipurpose head wear device found is believed to date back to 70 B.C., having been preserved in a Danish bog for over 2000 years. Since then Multipurpose head wear devices have been adorned for various reasons including blocking the sun, assigning status, and even concealing identity.

Often during activities it is difficult for someone to carry all of the equipment and devices, such as phones or water, which they want on their person. This is especially difficult in activities such as marathon running. Current methods for carrying items on someone's person include placing the items in pockets on their shirt or pants, or strap the desired item to their body.

Keeping items in pockets may be particularly inconvenient since they may easily fall out of pockets that the head wear device does not close securely. Items in pockets also bounce around while the user is participating in the activity which may irritate the wearer, distract him from his activity, and even cause chafing when irritating the wrong area.

Straps are made for certain items to hold them to the user's body. For instance, there are many types of arm and leg bands designed to hold a wearer's phone. Strapping items to the user's body may be irritating to the user. If improperly applied they may also cut off circulation in a wearer's body. Many of these types of straps are also only designed to hold a certain type of item. Phone holders, for example, are often only designed to hold a certain type of phone.

For the purpose of the present application, the head covering member is defined as a cap portion of a multipurpose head wear device or similar article.

In its broadest interpretation, this disclosure describes the multipurpose head wear device, a primary goal of which is to provide an embedded or integrated pocket within the head wear device for easily carrying items of the wearer of the head wear device.

Briefly stated, in one embodiment, the present system contemplates a multipurpose head wear device comprises a cap, a brim, and at least one pocket. The at least one pocket may be located within the cap portion of the multipurpose head wear device and/or within the brim portion. Further, the pocket may be located in one area or in multiple areas. Additionally, in various embodiments, the head wear device may comprise multiple pocket elements, ranging from one to five located in different spots within the cap and brim.

The pockets may be located on the right side of the cap or brim, the left side, the front portion, the back portion, or a combination thereof.

It is an object of the present system to provide a pocket cap multipurpose head wear device that does not irritate the user. The usual brim potion extends outwardly from the cap portion, as its frontal portion, and primarily functions as a sunshade for the convenience of its wearer.

Yet another embodiment of the present system comprises a releasable fastening mechanism like a zipper or Velcro® or buttons or snapping mechanisms which may be utilized to keep the pocket closed and the items secured in the pocket.

In yet another embodiment the pocket is on a portion of the cap, however in other embodiments it may be on the visor or brim of a multipurpose head wear device. The pockets may also be located on the interior of the cap or brim. In other embodiments, the pockets may also be located on the exterior of the cap or brim.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of a multipurpose head wear device in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the multipurpose head wear device that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
