Description
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to retention devices and more particularly pertains to a new retention device for retaining a pair of pants below a waist of a user.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pair of pants that has a waistband. The pair of pants may be worn on a user having the waistband being spaced below a waist of the user such that underwear of the user is visible above the waistband. A retention unit is provided and the retention unit may be worn around a torso of the user. The retention unit engages the pair of pants such that the waistband is retained at a selected position.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a clothing retention system according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a left side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 4 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new retention device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the clothing retention system 10 generally comprises a pair of pants 12 that has a waistband 14 and the pair of pants 12 may be worn on a user 16. The waistband 14 is spaced below a waist 18 of the user 16 such that underwear 20 of the user 16 is visible above the waistband 14. A retention unit 22 is provided and the retention unit 22 may be worn around a torso 24 of the user 16. The retention unit 22 engages the pair of pants 12 such that the waistband 14 is retained at a selected position.

The retention unit 22 comprises a belt 26 that has a first end 28, a second end 30 and a first surface 32. The belt 26 has a plurality of openings 34 extending therethrough and the openings 34 are spaced apart from each other and distributed inwardly from the first end 28. The belt 26 may be worn around the user's torso 24. A buckle 36 is coupled to the second end 30 and the buckle 36 may have the first end 28 directed therethrough such that the belt 26 forms a closed loop. The buckle 36 engages a selected one of the openings 34 such that the belt 26 is retained at a selected diameter.

A spool 38 is movably coupled to the first surface 32 and the spool 38 is biased to rotate in a retracting direction. The spool 38 is urgeable to selectively rotate in an extending direction. A chain 40 is rotatably coupled to the spool 38 and the chain 40 has a distal end 42 with respect to the spool 38. The spool 38 is positionable at a selected point on the belt 26. The spool 38 is positionable at a selected point on the belt 26. Thus, the spool 38 may be positioned on a right side or a left side of the user 16.

The chain 40 is extendable outwardly from the spool 38 when the spool 38 is urged to rotate in the extending direction and the chain 40 is retracted into the spool 38 when the spool 38 rotates in the retracting direction. A clip 44 is attached to the distal end 42 of the spool 38. The clip 44 selectively engages the waistband 14 when the belt 26 is worn on the user's torso 24. Thus, the waistband 14 is retained at the selected position.

In use, the pants 12 are worn such that the waistband 14 is positioned below an upper edge 46 of the underwear 20 thereby leaving the underwear 20 exposed above the waistband 14. The belt 26 is worn around the user's torso 24 and the clip 44 is attached to the waistband 14. The belt 26 prevents the pair of pants 12 from sliding downwardly on the user 16. The belt 26, the chain 40 and the clip 44 are covered by a shirt 48 worn by the user 16 such that the belt 26, the chain 40 and the clip 44 are substantially concealed from an observer.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
