FIRE CONTAINMENT DEVICE

A smoke ring assembly that includes: an inner ring, where the inner ring is a cylindrical tube having a first diameter; an outer ring, where the outer ring is a cylindrical tube having a second diameter, where the first diameter is less than the second diameter and the inner ring is vertically aligned into the outer ring during use; a series of holes at the top perimeter of the inner ring; a throttle ring, where the throttle ring supports the outer and inner ring; a series of throttle holes around the perimeter of the throttle ring; and a removable handle for use with the throttle ring, where the removable handle inserts into the one of the throttle holes. The smoke ring assembly may further include handles on the inner ring to allow for removal of the inner ring from the outer ring. The inner ring preferably includes an outer lip that over laps the outer ring.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a fire containment device used to contain an outdoor fire.

Description of Related Art

One of many aspects of outdoor camping involves building of fires. Outdoor fires essentially are necessary for cooking, providing heat and keeping insects or animals away from the campsite. Further the outdoor fire creates a pleasant atmosphere while camping. One drawback to outdoor fires relates to smoke emission that's usually associated with the outdoor fire. These smoke emissions can be harmful and also sensitive to the campers. As a result, it would be advantageous to have a device that could minimize or eliminate smoke output while engaging in an outdoor campout.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a smoke ring assembly that includes: an inner ring, where the inner ring is a cylindrical tube having a first diameter; an outer ring, where the outer ring is a cylindrical tube having a second diameter, where the first diameter is less than the second diameter and the inner ring is vertically aligned into the outer ring during use; a series of holes at the top perimeter of the inner ring; a throttle ring, where the throttle ring supports the outer and inner ring; a series of throttle holes around the perimeter of the throttle ring; and a removable handle for use with the throttle ring, where the removable handle inserts into the one of the throttle holes. The smoke ring assembly may further include handles on the inner ring to allow for removal of the inner ring from the outer ring. The inner ring preferably includes an outer lip that over laps the outer ring.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 depicts a smoke ring assembly in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 2 depicts an inner ring used with the smoke ring assembly according to the present invention.

FIG. 3 depicts a throttle ring use in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 4 depicts a top sectional view of an overlap of the inner ring onto an outer ring according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a smoke ring assembly that includes an inner and outer ring that contains an outdoor fire. Further, the ring design helps to minimize or eliminate smoke emissions from the fire through the use of the inner ring, outer ring and strategically positioned holes within the rings.

In reference to FIG. 1, a smoke ring assembly 100 is depicted. Smoke ring assembly 100 includes an inner ring 30 and an outer ring 40. These rings 30, 40 are essentially cylindrical tubes in vertical alignment. The cylindrical shape allows for the placement of the fire within the center of the inner ring 30. At the top of the inner ring 30 are a series of top holes 34 around the top perimeter of the inner ring 30. Handles are 20a, 20b are provided on the inner ring 30 to allow for removal of the inner ring 30 from the outer ring 40. The inner ring 30 and outer ring 40 are mounted on a throttle ring 50 that includes a series of throttle holes 52 around the perimeter. The throttle ring 50 includes a removable handle 54 that is inserted into one of the throttle holes 52 to allow for handling of the throttle ring 50. FIG. 3 depicts a clear view of the throttle ring 50 showing the holes 52 around the perimeter with handle 54. The inner ring 30 is shown in FIG. 2 removed from the outer ring 40. It provides a view of the handles 20a, 20b and depicts bottom holes 36 at the bottom of the inner ring 30. The configuration of the bottom holes 36 along with the top holes of the inner ring 30 positioned over the outer ring 50 allow for the containment of the fire along with the smoke associated with the fire. As a result, a user may easily use this configuration to create an outdoor fire with minimum smoke and proper fire containment. The inner ring 30 overlaps the outer ring 40 with overlap 32 shown in FIG. 4.

A user may easily use this ring assembly 100 to build an outdoor fire and eliminate or minimize smoke output. Preferably the ring assembly is about 24 inches tall with the inner ring 30 being about 30 inches in diameter and placed within the outer ring 40. The base or throttle ring 50 enables the user to adjust the intensity of fire by controlling the throw of air through the ring assembly 100. As a result of this device the evenly spaced holes enables to the fire to burn the wood and to minimize smoke output through the circulation of the smoke back into the fire. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
