BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to footwear and more particularly pertains to new footwear for preventing slippage in showers.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a first shoe that comprises a sole. The sole has a top layer and a bottom layer, which are mutually coupled along their respective perimeters to define an interior space that comprises a gel. A plurality of grips is coupled to and extends from the bottom layer. The grips are tackified to prevent slippage. A shell is coupled to the perimeter of the top layer. The shell and the sole define an internal space that is complimentary to the foot of the user. An entry is positioned in the shell proximate to a first end of the sole for insertion of the user's foot. A plurality of openings is positioned in the shell for water to flow into and drain from the internal space. The footwear includes a second shoe that is a mirror image of the first shoe.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated.

There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is an isometric perspective view of nonslip shower footwear according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 5 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, new footwear embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the nonslip shower footwear 10 generally comprises a first shoe 12 that comprises a sole 14. The sole 14 has a top layer 16 and a bottom layer 18, which are mutually coupled along their respective perimeters 20 to define an interior space 22 that comprises a gel 24. Preferably, the gel 24 comprises silicone gel 26.

A plurality of grips 28 is coupled to and extends from the bottom layer 18. The grips 28 are tackified and are positioned on the sole 14 to prevent slippage of the shoe 12 when worn by a user. The grips 28 comprise protrusions 30 that are rounded. The plurality of grips 28 comprises from six to forty grips. Preferably, the plurality of grips 28 comprises from ten to twenty grips. More preferably, the plurality of grips 28 comprises from twelve to sixteen grips.

A shell 32 is coupled to the perimeter 20 of the top layer 16. The shell 32 and the sole 14 define an internal space 34 that is complimentary to the foot of the user. The shell 32 comprises a heel cap 36, a pair of quarters 38 and a toe box 40, which all are coupled to and extend upwardly from the sole 14. The heel cap 36 is coupled proximate to a first end 42 of the sole 14. Each quarter 38 is coupled to a respective one of opposing sides 44 of the sole 14 proximate to the first end 42. The toe box 40 is coupled to a second end 46 of the sole 14 and to both opposing sides 44 of the sole 14. The toe box 40 and the sole 14 are complementary to the toe end of a user's foot. The heel cap 36, the quarters 38 and the toe box 40 have upper edges 48 that define an entry 50. The entry 50 is positioned in the shell 32 proximate to the first end 42 of the sole 14 for insertion of the user's foot.

A plurality of openings 52 is positioned in the shell 32 for water to flow into and drain from the internal space 34. The plurality of openings 52 comprises a plurality of orifices 54 and a plurality of penetrations 56. The orifices 54 are positioned in the toe box 40. Preferably, the orifices 54 are circular and linearly arrayed. The plurality of orifices 54 comprises from three to twenty orifices. Preferably, the plurality of orifices 54 comprises from six to twelve orifices. More preferably, the plurality of orifices 54 comprises nine orifices arranged in three rows 58. The plurality of penetrations 56 is positioned in the pair of quarters 38 and comprises from one to five penetrations in each quarter 38. Preferably, the plurality of penetrations 56 comprises from two to four penetrations in each quarter 38. More preferably, the plurality of penetrations 56 comprises three penetrations in each quarter 38. The penetrations 56 are comprised of substantially quadrilaterally shaped and substantially triagonally shaped penetrations 56.

The footwear 10 includes a second shoe 60 that is a mirror image 62 of the first shoe 12. Preferably, the first shoe 12 and the second shoe 60 comprise plastic. More preferably, the first shoe 12 and the second shoe 60 comprise silicone.

In use, the entry 50 of the shoe 12 is configured for insertion of a user's foot into the internal space 34 of the shoe 12. The top layer 16 and bottom layer 18 define an interior space 22 that comprises gel 24, such that the footwear 10 is comfortable for the user to wear. The plurality of grips 28 is positioned on the bottom layer 18 to engage the surface of the shower or other wet environment to prevent the user from slipping. The plurality of openings 52 is positioned in the shell 32 to allow water to enter and flow from the internal space 34.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
