DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new toilet paper dispenser embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the combination wipe and multi-roll toilet paper dispenser 10 generally comprises a housing 12 that has a top 14, a bottom 16, a front 18, a back 20, and opposing sides 22 that define an internal space 24. Preferably, the top 14, the bottom 16 and the opposing sides 22 extend past the front 18, defining a recess 26.

A partition 28 is positioned in the internal space 24, defining an upper chamber 30 and a lower chamber 32. The partition 28 is positioned proximate to and parallel to the bottom 16. The upper chamber 30 is sized to accommodate three to eight rolls of toilet paper positioned in a vertical row with their central openings horizontally positioned. Preferably, the upper chamber 30 is sized to accommodate four to seven rolls of toilet paper positioned in a vertical row with their central openings horizontally positioned. More preferably, the upper chamber 30 is sized to accommodate six rolls of toilet paper positioned in a vertical row with their central openings horizontally positioned.

A first opening 34 is positioned through the front 18 adjacent to the top 14. The first opening 34 extends between the opposing sides 22 and is sized to allow insertion of rolls of toilet paper through the first opening 34 into the upper chamber 30. A first door 36, which is complementary to the first opening 34, is hingedly coupled to the housing 12. The first door 36 is positioned on the housing 12 such that the first door 36 is openable to access the upper chamber 30 and closable to cover the first opening 34. Preferably, the first door 36 is hingedly coupled to the front 18 proximate to a lower edge 38 of the first opening 34. A first knob 40 may be coupled to the first door 36 proximate to an upper edge 42 of the first door 36.

A second opening 44 is positioned through the front 18 adjacent to the bottom 16. The second opening 44 extends between the opposing sides 22. A second door 46, which is complementary to the second opening 44, is hingedly coupled to the housing 12. The second door 46 is positioned on the housing 12 such that the second door 46 is openable to access the lower chamber 32 and closable to cover the second opening 44. Preferably, the second door 46 is hingedly coupled to the front 18 proximate to a bottom edge 48 of the second opening 44. A second knob 50 may be coupled to the second door 46 proximate to a top edge 52 of the second door 46. A latch 54 may be coupled to the front 18 proximate to the second opening 55. The latch 54 is positioned to secure the second door 46 in a closed position.

An access 56 is positioned through the front 18 above the second opening 44. The access 56 extends between the opposing sides 22, such that a roll of toilet paper positioned proximate to the partition 28 is reachable through the access 56.

A lever 58 is configured to singly lower rolls of toilet paper positioned in the upper chamber 30 to the partition 28. More specifically, the lever 58 comprises a panel 60 that is arcuate. The panel 60 is positionable beneath stowed rolls of toilet paper positioned in the upper chamber 30 above the access 56. A handle 62 is coupled to the panel 60. The handle 62 is pivotally coupled to each opposing side 22 substantially equally distant from the front 15 and the back 20, such that the panel 60 is positioned above the access 56. The handle 62 comprises a pair of first beams 64, a pair of second beams 66 and a crossbeam 68. Each first beam 64 has a first end 70 pivotally coupled to an inside face 71 of a respective opposing side 22 of the housing 12 substantially equally distant from the front 18 and the back 20. Each second beam 66 extends transversely from a second end 72 of a respective first beam 64, such that a free end 73 of the second beam 66 extends from the internal space 24 through the access 56. The crossbeam 68 is coupled to and extends between the free ends 73 of the second beams 66. The panel 60 is coupled to and extends between the first beams 64 proximate to the seconds ends 72 of the first beams 64.

A penetration 74 is substantially centrally positioned through the second door 46. A hatch 75, which is complementary to the penetration 74, is hingedly coupled to the second door 46. The hatch 75 is positioned on the second door 46 such that the hatch 75 is openable to access the lower chamber 32 and closable to cover the penetration 74. Preferably, the hatch 75 is hingedly coupled the second door 46 proximate to a side edge 76 of the penetration 74. Also preferably, the penetration 74 is substantially rectangularly shaped.

Preferably, the lower chamber 32 is sized to accommodate one to four packages of wipes positioned in the lower chamber 32 with the package opening adjacent to the penetration 74. More preferably, the lower chamber 32 is sized to accommodate two packages of wipes positioned in the lower chamber 32. The hatch 75 is openable to obtain wipes from the package.

The dispenser 10 includes a tube 77 that is complementary to the central opening of a roll of toilet paper. The tube 77 is spring-loaded, such that opposing ends 78 of the tube 77 are compelled outwardly. Each of a pair of indents 79 is positioned in the inside face 71 of a respective opposing side 22 of the housing 12. Preferably, the indents 79 are circular and positioned substantially equally distant from the front 18 and the back 20 of the housing 12. The tube 77 is configured to insert through the central opening of a roll of toilet paper and each opposing end 78 of the tube 77 is positionable in a respective indent 79 such that the roll of toilet paper is reachable through the access 56.

In use, the first door 36 is openable by the user to insert extra rolls of toilet paper through the first opening 34 and into the upper chamber 30. As required, the lever 58 is pivotable upwardly wherein a fresh roll of toilet paper is lowered to the partition 28. The user extracts the roll, inserts the tube 77 and positions the opposing ends 78 of the tube 77 into the indents 79 for use. The second door 46 is openable by the user to insert packages of wipes through the second opening 44 into the lower chamber 32. The wipes are reachable through the hatch 75 positioned in the second door 46.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
