Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention

The invention relates to takedown structures and more particularly to a takedown structure for a 3×3 grid game.

2. Description of Related Art

A conventional structure for a 3×3 grid game is disadvantageous because it is not capable of being taken apart. Its storage or transport is difficult.

Thus, the need for improvement still exists.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore one object of the invention to provide a takedown structure comprising a plurality of tubular frame members having a rectangular cross-section, each tubular frame member including two grooves on top and bottom surfaces respectively; a plurality of different fitting members, each fitting member including a parallelepiped body and a plurality of arms, each arm including an axial hole and a plurality of main sections, each main section having a tapered portion wherein each arm is configured to frictionally dispose in an end of the frame member; and a plurality of rectangular boards, each rectangular board including two projections on top and bottom edges respectively, each projection being configured to complimentarily dispose in the groove, and a digit formed on an outer surface of the rectangular board.

The above and other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is an exploded view of some frame members and fitting members of a takedown structure for a 3×3 grid game according to the invention;

FIG. 2 is a side elevation of a first one of the fitting members;

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a second one of the fitting members;

FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a third one of the fitting members;

FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the assembled skeleton of the structure;

FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the fully assembled structure; and

FIG. 7 is a perspective view of the structure being played in a 3×3 grid game.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 7, a takedown structure for game in accordance with the invention comprises the following components as discussed in detail below.

A plurality of vertical and horizontal tubular frame members 10 having a square cross-section are shown. Each frame member 10 includes two elongated grooves 11 on top and bottom surfaces respectively.

A plurality of (five) different fitting members 20 are provided (see FIGS. 1 and 3). Each fitting member 20 includes a parallelepiped body 21 and two, three, or four arms 22. Each arm 22 includes a plurality of main sections 221 having a tapered portion 222, and a hole 223 through the main sections 221 and the tapered portions 222. Except the main section 221 at an open end, the tapered portion 222 of any main section 221 is formed with the adjacent main section 221. In short, the uneven outer surface of the arm 20 can increase dry friction. Thus, the arm 22 can be frictionally disposed in an end of the frame member 10 to fasten the fitting member 20 and the frame member 10 together.

A plurality of square boards 30 having two elongated projections 31 on top and bottom edges respectively are provided. The projection 31 is complimentarily disposed in the groove 11 to fasten the frame member 10 and the square board 30 together. A digit (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9) is formed on an outer surface of the square board 30.

Preferably, the frame members 10 are made of aluminum or plastic.

Preferably, the fitting members 20 are made of aluminum or plastic.

A first embodiment of the fitting member 20 is shaped as cross (see FIG. 2).

A second embodiment of the fitting member 20 is shaped as T (see top right of FIG. 1).

A third embodiment of the fitting member 20 is shaped as “7” (see FIG. 3).

Advantageously, the assembly or disassembly of the invention can be done easily without tools. Further, its storage space is greatly decreased for ease of storage or transport after being taken apart.

An individual may throw a ball 40 toward one of the square boards 30 when playing a 3×3 grid game (see FIG. 7).

While the invention has been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention can be practiced with modifications within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
