Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention(s). It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art, or material, to the presently described or claimed inventions, or that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to the field of head apparel, and more specifically relates to interchangeable head apparel systems.

2. Description of Related Art

A hat is a head covering which is worn for various reasons, including protection against the elements, ceremonial reasons, religious reasons, safety, or as a fashion accessory. There are many types of hats such as baseball hats which are typically a soft, light cotton cap with a rounded crown and a stiff, frontward-projecting bill (brim). Hats are typically not multi-purpose in nature.

Several attempts have been made to solve the above-mentioned problems such as those found in U.S. Pat. No. 5,933,871 to David Kraft, U.S. Pat. No. 5,070,545 to Ray Tapia. This art is representative of hats. However, none of the above inventions and patents, taken either singly or in combination, is seen to describe the invention as claimed.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known head apparel art, the present invention provides a novel interchangeable head apparel system. The general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail is to provide a multi-functional headwear device suitable for modular use.

An interchangeable head apparel system is disclosed herein, in a preferred embodiment, comprising an interchangeable head apparel assembly including a hat crown having an inside perimeter, a front side, a back side, a left side, and a right side, a brim which is removably attachable to the front side of the hat crown, and a zippable fastener, wherein the interchangeable head apparel system comprises the interchangeable head apparel assembly. The interchangeable head apparel assembly comprises the hat crown, the brim, and the zippable fastener in functional combination.

The hat crown is defined by the inside perimeter, the front side, the back side, the left side, and the right side; relationally speaking, the inside perimeter adjacent a head of a wearer-user when worn. The brim (bill) is able to be removably attached to and from the hat crown via the zippable fastener. The zippable fastener comprises a pull-tab which is able to be concealed from view via a cover in preferred embodiments. The zippable fastener comprises a first-set-of-teeth and a second-set-of-teeth which are able to be mated together; wherein the first-set-of-teeth is fixed to the front side of the hat crown and the second-set-of-teeth is fixed to a rear of the brim. As such the first-set-of-teeth and the second-set-of-teeth are able to be coupled via a zipping action and uncoupled for changing out brims. The pull-tab is positioned adjacent the first-set-of-teeth and is affixed to a slider and movement is regulated via a bottom stop and top stops in preferred embodiments. As designed the interchangeable head apparel system is configured for modular headwear use as per desire of the user.

A kit is also disclosed herein including: the hat crown, a plurality of the brims, the interchangeable head apparel assembly equipped with the zippable fastener. A set of user instructions may be included.

The present invention holds significant improvements and serves as an interchangeable head apparel systems. Preferably, headwear apparel should provide multi-functional use for interchangeable esthetics and functional use and, yet would operate reliably and be manufactured at a modest expense. Thus, a need exists for a reliable interchangeable head apparel system to avoid the above-mentioned problems.

For purposes of summarizing the invention, certain aspects, advantages, and novel features of the invention have been described herein. It is to be understood that not necessarily all such advantages may be achieved in accordance with any one particular embodiment of the invention. Thus, the invention may be embodied or carried out in a manner that achieves or optimizes one advantage or group of advantages as taught herein without necessarily achieving other advantages as may be taught or suggested herein. The features of the invention which are believed to be novel are particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification. These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings and detailed description.
