DRAWER WITH A BASE, TWO LATERAL WALLS, A REAR WALL, AND A PANEL

The invention relates to a drawer having a bottom panel, two side walls, a back wall, and a facing. The facing can be connected, via two fitting elements located on the back, to fitting elements that are built into the face end of the side walls. The side walls are secured on drawer slides. The side walls can be made longer via the fitting elements for side wall parts that receive the fitting elements on the back of the facing and are flush with the bottom panel. The fitting elements for the fitting elements of the facing are accessible in the side wall parts via recesses in the side wall parts. The recesses in the side wall parts are coverable via slip-on coverings.

Description

The invention relates to a drawer with a bottom panel, two side walls, a back wall, and a facing as defined by the preamble to claim 1.

In known drawers, the facing can be connected, via two fitting elements located on the back of the facing, to fitting elements built into the face end of the side walls; the side walls of the drawer are secured to drawer slides.

In these known drawers, building in the fitting elements for the fitting elements secured to the facing is more or less associated with difficulties. This is due primarily to the use of sheet metal or wood for the side walls of the drawer.

It is the object of the invention to develop a drawer in which attaching the facing to the face ends of the side walls of the drawer is improved and can be used for all sizes of drawers.

The stated object is attained by the features of claim 1.

According to the invention, this is attained in that the side walls can be made longer via the fitting elements for side wall parts that receive the fitting elements on the back of the facing and are flush with the bottom panel, and the fitting elements for the fitting elements of the facing are accessible in the side wall parts via recesses in the side wall parts, and the recesses in the side wall parts can be covered via slip-on coverings.

In a further embodiment, the side wall parts can be introduced via insert pegs into insert receptacles in the face end of the shortened side walls and are firmly held therein. The side walls, the side wall parts, and the back wall are provided in the lower region with a receiving groove for the bottom panel.

The coverings comprise two spaced-apart cover panels, which are located at the spacing of the thickness of the side wall parts, and the cover panels, oriented toward one another, stand erect on the bottom panel, and the cover panels facing away from one another are flush with the underside of the side wall parts, and the two cover panels are joined to one another via the side wall parts.

The drawer according to the invention will be explained in further detail as an exemplary embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the drawings:

FIG. 1, the drawer in a perspective view, seen from the back;

FIG. 2, the drawer in a perspective view, seen from the facing;

FIG. 3, the bottom panel, the side walls, and the back wall of the drawer in the assembled position;

FIG. 4, the parts of the drawer of FIG. 3 in the assembled position;

FIG. 5, the parts of the drawer supplemented with the side wall parts; and

FIG. 6, the drawer of FIG. 5 with the facing;

FIGS. 7 and 8, the drawer in a perspective view in the assembled position of the side wall parts and facing;

FIG. 9, the drawer of FIG. 7 with coverings;

FIG. 10, the drawer of FIG. 9 without coverings;

FIG. 11, the drawer of FIG. 10 with the side wall parts, which are connected to the side walls;

FIG. 12, the drawer of FIG. 11 with the facing attached;

FIG. 13, the drawer of FIG. 12 with coverings in the assembled position; and

FIG. 14, the drawer of FIG. 13 with coverings slipped onto the side wall parts;

FIGS. 15 and 16, the connection between the side wall part and the facing, without a covering; and

FIGS. 17 and 18, the connection between the side wall part and the facing, with a covering.

FIGS. 1 and 2 show the drawer according to the invention in two different perspective views, first looking at the back of the drawer, and second looking at the facing of the drawer. It can be seen here that the side walls 11 and 12 of the drawer are made shorter and longer by means of the side wall parts 14 and 15. The drawer with the side walls 11 and 12 is secured on drawer slides 17 such that it can be pulled out.

As FIG. 3 shows, the insides of the side walls 11 and 12 have a receiving groove 25 for the bottom panel 10 in the lower region. The back 13 can also be provided with such a receiving groove 25. The shortened side walls 11 and 12 have two insertion receptacles 19 in their face ends for insert pegs 18, protruding toward the side walls from the closure side facing toward them, of the side wall parts 14 and 15. The side wall parts 14 and 15 receive a fitting element 21 for the fitting element 20 located on the back of the facing 16, as can be seen from FIGS. 5 and 6. Two insert pegs 18 can be connected to one another via a plastic part, which is introduced into the housing of the fitting element 21 and then is fixed nondisplaceably therein by means of a pressed-in part 26 of the housing.

FIG. 4 shows the drawer, assembled from the individual parts, without the facing.

In FIG. 7, the assembled position of the side wall parts 14 and 15 and of the facing 16 with the fitting elements 20 can be seen.

FIG. 8 also shows this assembled position; from it, the bottom panel 10 introduced into the receiving groove 25 of the side wall 11 can also be seen. Instead of the receiving groove 25, a support for the bottom panel 13 to rest on may be provided.

FIG. 9 shows that side wall part 14, not yet connected to the side wall 11, with a recess 22 that enables access to the built-in fitting element 21 for the fitting element 20 of the facing 16. This fitting element 21 receives a horizontal guide bolt of the fitting element 20 and guides it, upon introduction into a guide receptacle of the fitting element 21, into a locking position in which the 13 of the facing 16 is held under tension against the face ends of the side wall parts 14 and 15. This locking position of the two fitting elements 20 and 21 can be undone via the recess 22, whereupon the guide bolt of the fitting element 20 is expelled from the fitting element 21. As FIG. 9 also shows, two coverings 23 and 24 are provided, which as FIG. 13 shows can be thrust from above onto the side wall parts 14 and 15. The coverings 23 and 24 comprise two spaced-apart cover panels, which are connected to one another via the side wall parts 14 and 15. The cover panels facing one another stand erect on the top side of the bottom panel 10, and the cover panels facing away from one another are flush with the underside of the side wall parts 14 and 15 and close the recesses 22 in the side wall parts 14 and 15.

The side walls 11 and 12, as FIG. 14 shows, with the thrust-on coverings 23 and 24, form closed units, which block access to the fitting elements 21 in the side wall parts 14 and 15.

FIGS. 15 through 18 show the transition from the side wall 11 via the side wall part 14 to the facing 16, respectively without and with the covering 23.

If the covering 23 or 24 is removed from the side wall part 14 or 15, respectively, then twos et screws, with which the height adjustment and the lateral adjustment of the facing 13 on the drawer can be varied, are accessible via the recess 22 in the respective side wall part 14 or 15.

Furthermore, an adjustable-height U-shaped support can be mounted on the back of the back wall 13, specifically in the vicinity of the drawer slide 17; with this support, the spacing between the guide rail 17 and the side wall 11 or 12 of the drawer, and thus the height of the drawer, can be adjusted.
