Pool Skimmer Brush

The disclosed pool skimmer apparatus provided includes a brush which when used captures debris from the walls of a pool when scrubbed. Said brush is either attached to the actual skimmer or skimmer has tracks to allow one to remove and replace said brush. The skimmer brush is attached to a pole and when attached to the pole said skimmer is used to brush in an up and down motion or side to side motion with the skimmer (or skimmer net) then capturing the debris which the brush removed from the pool wall.

BACKGROUND 1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for scrubbing the walls of a swimming pool and for removing the wall debris, algae and sediment that was scrubbed from the water using a mesh skimmer or skimmer net device.

2. Description of Prior Art

Numerous devices for removing sediment from pools are known in prior art. Notably there are numerous references to prior art that relate to the foil or angle planes attached to an apparatus' that allow skimmers to work effectively underwater when dealing with vertical walls. The proposed patent does not seek protection from the devices or apparatus' that are used to give cleaning apparatus' maximum effectiveness while manipulating the angle of the skimmer.

Prior art application #US20150218836 states “A handheld pool skimmer is an apparatus that allows a user to get into a swimming pool and manually collect all of the debris within the swimming pool.” And describes the use of a “hand brush skimmer” which is used while operator is cleaning an above ground pools and does not address the need to scrub and clean the walls of, for example, a below ground pool with vertical walls of any significant size. The proposed patent eliminates that concern by using a mesh or net based skimmer that when attached to a pole allows the pool owners to seamlessly clean and capture debris.

There is still room for improvement in the art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The current invention is a pool skimmer apparatus that includes a brush which when used captures debris from the walls of a pool when scrubbed. Said brush is either attached to the actual skimmer or skimmer has tracks to allow one to remove and replace said brush (embodiments). Skimmer brush is attached to a pole and when attached to the pole said skimmer is used to brush in an up and down motion or side to side motion with the skimmer (or skimmer net) then capturing the debris which the brush removed from the pool wall.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Without restricting the full scope of this invention, the preferred form of this invention is illustrated in the following drawings:

FIG. 1 is a front and top view of the present invention (base mesh skimmer);

FIG. 2 is the brush/bristle track mechanism of the present invention;

FIG. 3 is a skimmer brush that alternatively attached to a skimmer net and functions in the same manner as the mesh based skimmer.; and

FIG. 4 describes an alternative embodiment of the present invention.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

There are a number of significant design features and improvements incorporated within the invention.

The current invention is a skimmer (1) that has a brush apparatus (6) attached. When used the brush (6) captures debris from the walls of a pool when scrubbed. Said brush (6) is either attached to the actual skimmer (1) or the skimmer (1) has tracks (7) to allow the removing and replacing of said brush (6). Skimmer (1) is attached to a pole (15) and when attached to the pole (15) said skimmer (1) is used to brush in an up and down motion or side to side motion with the skimmer (1) or skimmer net (15) then capturing the debris which the brush (1) removed from the pool wall.

FIG. 1 illustrates a first embodiment of the invention and is seen to include a built-in brush apparatus that extends from the middle of the skimmer base (2) and on the bottom of the skimmer base (2). As an alternative embodiment, the diagram shows the brush apparatus (6) installed on the base skimmer (5) (see FIG. “2”)

FIG. 2 illustrates the track as described in FIG. 1 (5). The brush apparatus (6) is installed and removed through a built-in track (7). The brush apparatus (6) slides into the track (7) to form a tight and proper fit. The track (7) is molded into the skimmer (1) in the preferred embodiment.

FIG. 3 illustrates the tracks on both the upper and lower brush track (8) used to replace the brush apparatus (9) as well as depicting brush apparatus installed (10) and not installed (11).

FIG. 4 illustrates an alternative embodiment whereas the skimmer is not a flat mesh but rather a mesh net (12) with attached brush apparatus as described in FIGS. “1”, “2” and “3.”

Although the present invention has been described in considerable detail with reference to certain preferred versions thereof, other versions are possible. Therefore, the point and scope of the appended claims should not be limited to the description of the preferred versions contained herein.

As to a further discussion of the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided. With respect to the above description, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
