GLUE-REMOVING WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND ADAPTER THEREOF

A glue-removing wheel assembly has an adapter, a reinforcing piece, and a wheel body. The adapter has a large diameter section, a small diameter section, and a connecting rod. The small diameter section is connected with the large diameter section and has a cross section being hexagonal and a necked segment disposed on an external surface of the small diameter section. The connecting rod is disposed on the large diameter section and is opposite to the small diameter section. The reinforcing piece is connected to the adapter and has an internal annular face disposed on the reinforcing piece and securely mounted around the connecting rod of the adapter and an external annular face. The wheel body is round, is coaxial with the adapter, and is mounted around the large diameter section of the adapter and the reinforcing piece.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a glue-removing wheel assembly, and more particularly relates to a glue-removing wheel assembly and its adapter that may be applied on tool heads of different hand tools to improve the practicality of the glue-removing wheel assembly.

2. Description of Related Art

In general, when the automobile is undergoing a panel-beating process, multiple covering panels are disposed on positions of the automobile that are not to be colored by glue before a painting process. After the painting process, the covering panels are removed from the automobile, and residual glue is left on the automobile by the glue before the painting process. At this time, a glue-removing wheel is applied with an adapter and a collet of a rotating tool to rotate and rub against a surface of the automobile to remove the residual glue and to avoid scratching the surface of the automobile.

However, a conventional glue-removing wheel is a rubber wheel, and has a connecting rod disposed on a center of the conventional glue-removing wheel. An end of the connecting rod axially extends out of a surface of the conventional glue-removing wheel, and a thread is disposed on the end of the connecting rod. With reference to FIG. 10, an adapter 60 is applied with the conventional glue-removing wheel, is a stepped cylinder, and has two different diameters, a connecting end 62, and a mounting end 64. The connecting end 62 is disposed on a position of the adapter 60 that has a smaller one of the two different diameters, and the mounting end 64 is connected to the connecting end 62 and is disposed on a position of the adapter 60 that has a larger one of the two different diameters. Furthermore, the mounting end 64 has an outer side opposite to the connecting end 62 and a threaded hole 642 axially formed through the outer side of the mounting end 64. The threaded hole 642 of the mounting end 64 is screwed with the thread of the end of the connecting rod of the conventional glue-removing wheel. The collet of the rotating tool is securely clamped with the connecting end 62 of the adapter 62. However, the connecting end 62 of the adapter 60 must be used with a specific rotating tool. It may occur that when a user wants to use the adapter 60 with the specific rotating tool, the specific rotating tool is not available nearby, and this is inconvenient in use.

Additionally, when the conventional glue-removing wheel is needed to use with the adapter 60, the adapter 60 may not be available or are not carried by the user, and this is also inconvenient in use. Furthermore, the adapter 60 may easily be lost when the adapter 60 is carried or stored alone, and this needs improvement.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a glue-removing wheel assembly and its adapter to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to provide an adapter of a glue-removing wheel assembly to apply with collets of different kinds of rotating tools.

The adapter of a glue-removing wheel assembly in accordance with the present invention is a rod body and has two ends, a large diameter section, and a small diameter section. The large diameter section is disposed on one of the two ends of the adapter and has an end face and a mounting segment axially formed through the end face of the large diameter section. The small diameter section is disposed on the other one of the two ends of the adapter, is opposite to the end face of the large diameter section, is connected to the large diameter section, and has a cross section and a necked segment. The cross section is hexagonal. The necked segment is disposed on an external surface of the small diameter section at a middle of the small diameter section.

The main objective of the present invention is to provide a glue-removing wheel assembly that may be applied on tool heads of different hand tools to improve the practicality of the glue-removing wheel assembly.

The glue-removing wheel assembly in accordance with the present invention has an adapter, a reinforcing piece, and a wheel body. The adapter has a large diameter section, a small diameter section, and a connecting rod. The small diameter section is connected with the large diameter section and has a cross section being hexagonal and a necked segment disposed on an external surface of the small diameter section. The connecting rod is disposed on the large diameter section and is opposite to the small diameter section. The reinforcing piece is connected to the adapter and has an internal annular face disposed on the reinforcing piece and securely mounted around the connecting rod of the adapter and an external annular face. The wheel body is round, is coaxial with the adapter, and is mounted around the large diameter section of the adapter and the reinforcing piece.

Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, an adapter 10 for a glue-removing wheel assembly in accordance with the present invention is a rod body and comprises two ends, a large diameter section 12 and a small diameter section 14. The large diameter section 12 and the small diameter section 14 are respectively disposed on the two ends of the adapter 10 and are connected with each other.

The large diameter section 12 has an end face, an external surface, a mounting segment 122, and a holding segment 124. The end face of the large diameter section 12 is disposed opposite to the small diameter section 14. The mounting segment 122 is axially formed through the end face of the large diameter section 12 and may be a threaded hole. The holding segment 124 may be flat for users to hold and for exerting a rotating force, and is disposed on the external surface of the large diameter section 12.

The small diameter section 14 is connected to the large diameter section 12, is disposed on the adapter 10 opposite to the end face of the large diameter section 12, and has a cross section, an external surface, a middle, and a necked segment 142. The cross section of the small diameter section 14 is hexagonal. The necked segment 142 is disposed on the external surface of the small diameter section 14 at the middle of the small diameter section 14.

With reference to FIG. 3, the adapter 10 is applied with a glue-removing wheel 20, and the glue-removing wheel 20 has a center and a linking segment 22. The linking segment 22 may be a threaded rod, is disposed on and protrudes from a side of the glue-removing wheel 20 at the center of the glue-removing wheel 20, and is inserted into and screwed with the mounting segment 122 of the large diameter section 12 to connect the adapter 10 with the glue-removing wheel 20. The small diameter section 14 of the adapter 10 can be used to connect with one of collets of different rotating tools. Then, the glue-removing wheel 20 can be rotated to remove glue from an object via the adapter 10 and a corresponding rotating tool.

With reference to FIGS. 4 to 7, the adapter 10 can be used to connect with collets 30A, 30B, 30C, 30D of different kinds of rotating tools. In a first kind of rotating tool, with reference to FIG. 4, the collet 30A has multiple connecting recesses 32A and multiple engaging balls 34A. The connecting recesses 32A are disposed in the collet 30A at spaced intervals, and the engaging balls 34A are respectively mounted in and limited by the connecting recesses 32A. When the small diameter section 14 of the adapter 10 is inserted in the collet 30A, the engaging balls 34A are held between the connecting recesses 32A and the necked segment 142 of the small diameter section 14 to connect the glue-removing wheel 20 with the first kind of rotating tool via the adapter 10 and the collet 30A.

With reference to FIG. 5, in a second kind of rotating tool, the collet 30B has a hexagonal hole with a cross section corresponding to the cross section of the small diameter section 14 of the adapter 10, and this enables the small diameter section 14 to mount in and engage with the hexagonal hole of the collet 30B to rotate the glue-removing wheel 20 with the second kind of rotating tool via the collet 30B, the small diameter section 14 and the large diameter section 12 of the adapter 10.

With reference to FIG. 6, in a third kind of rotating tool, the collet 30C has four claws arranged annularly at spaced intervals. When the small diameter section 14 of the adapter 10 is inserted into the collet 30C, the claws are clamped with the small diameter section 14 to connect the glue-removing wheel 20 with the third kind of rotating tool. Then, the glue-removing wheel 20 is rotated with the third kind of rotating tool via the claws of the collet 30C and the adapter 10.

With reference to FIG. 7, in a fourth kind of rotating tool, the collet 30D has three claws arranged annularly at spaced intervals. When the small diameter section 14 of the adapter 10 is inserted into the collet 30D, the claws are clamped with the small diameter section 14 to connect the glue-removing wheel 20 with the third kind of rotating tool. Then, the glue-removing wheel 20 is rotated with the fourth kind of rotating tool via the claws of the collet 30D and the adapter 10.

According to the above-mentioned description, the adapter 10 in accordance with the present invention can be used to connect with the collets 30A, 30B, 30C, 30D of different kinds of rotating tools by the cross section and the necked segment 142 of the small diameter section 14, and this may increase the practicality of the adapter 10 for different kinds of rotating tools.

Additionally, with further reference to FIGS. 8 and 9, the invention further provides a glue-removing wheel assembly 40, and the glue-removing wheel assembly 40 has an adapter 50, a reinforcing piece 42, and a wheel body 44. The adapter 50 is substantially the same as the adapter 10 except for the following features. The adapter 50 further has a connecting rod axially formed on and protruding from the end face of the large diameter section 52 and being opposite to the small diameter section 54. The reinforcing piece 42 has an internal annular face and an external annular face. The internal annular face is disposed on the reinforcing piece 42 and is securely mounted around the connecting rod of the adapter 50. The external annular face of the reinforcing piece 42 is wavy and is symmetrical in rotation. The wheel body 44 is round, is coaxial with the adapter 50, and is mounted around the large diameter section 52 of the adapter 50 and the reinforcing piece 42. During a forming process of the wheel body 44, the wheel body 44 can be formed with the large diameter section 52 of the adapter 50 and the reinforcing piece 42 as a single piece by an injection molding process. Then, the wheel body 44 and the reinforcing piece 42 are rotated with the adapter 50. Since the wheel body 44 is formed with the adapter 50 as a single piece, this may prevent the adapter 50 from missing and may be used with collets 30A, 30B, 30C, 30D of different kinds of rotating tools to improve the practicality of the glue-removing wheel assembly 40.

Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and features of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in the details, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.

Claims

1. An adapter of a glue-removing wheel assembly being a rod body and comprising:

two ends;
a large diameter section disposed on one of the two ends of the adapter and having an end face; and a mounting segment axially formed through the end face of the large diameter section; and
a small diameter section disposed on the other one of the two ends of the adapter, being opposite to the end face of the large diameter section, connected to the large diameter section, and having a cross section being hexagonal; an external surface; a middle; and a necked segment disposed on the external surface of the small diameter section at the middle of the small diameter section.

2. The adapter as claimed in claim 1, wherein the large diameter section has

an external surface; and
a holding segment disposed on the external surface of the large diameter section.

3. A glue-removing wheel assembly comprising:

an adapter having two ends; a large diameter section disposed on one of the two ends of the adapter and having an end face; a small diameter section disposed on the other one of the two ends of the adapter, being opposite to the end face of the large diameter section, connected to the large diameter section, and having a cross section being hexagonal; an external surface; a middle; and a necked segment disposed on the external surface of the small diameter section at the middle of the small diameter section; and a connecting rod axially formed on and protruding from the end face of the large diameter section and being opposite to the small diameter section;
a reinforcing piece connected to the adapter and having an internal annular face disposed on the reinforcing piece and securely mounted around the connecting rod of the adapter; and an external annular face; and
a wheel body being round, being coaxial with the adapter, and mounted around the large diameter section of the adapter and the reinforcing piece.

4. The glue-removing wheel assembly as claimed in claim 3, wherein the external annular face of the reinforcing piece is wavy.
