Abstract

A golf tag system for displaying selected indicia on a golf tee includes a golf tee that may penetrate ground having the golf tee extending upwardly from the ground. The golf tee has a top end and a bottom end. A tag slidably receives the golf tee. Moreover, the tag is positioned between the top end and the ground when the bottom end of the golf tee penetrates the ground. Indicia are printed on the tag to enhance an ornamental appearance of the golf tee.

The disclosure and prior art relates to tag devices and more particularly pertains to a new tag device for displaying selected indicia on a golf tee.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a golf tee that may penetrate ground having the golf tee extending upwardly from the ground. The golf tee has a top end and a bottom end. A tag slidably receives the golf tee. Moreover, the tag is positioned between the top end and the ground when the bottom end of the golf tee penetrates the ground. Indicia are printed on the tag to enhance an ornamental appearance of the golf tee.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated.

There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new tag device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the golf tag system 10 generally comprises a golf tee 12 that selectively penetrates ground 14 has the golf tee 12 extending upwardly from the ground 14. The golf tee 12 has a top end 16 and a bottom end 18 and the golf tee 12 may be of any conventional size and design. A tag 20 is provided and the tag 20 slidably receives the golf tee 12. Thus, the tag 20 is positioned between the top end 16 and the ground 14 when the bottom end 18 of the golf tee 12 penetrates the ground 14. The tag 20 has indicia 22 printed thereon to enhance an ornamental appearance of the golf tee 12.

The tag 20 has a first surface 24, a second surface 26 and a peripheral surface 28 extending therebetween. The peripheral surface 28 has a top side 30 and a bottom side 32 and each of the first 24 and second 26 surfaces has the indicia 22 thereon. The indicia 22 may comprise initials, an image, a logo and any other selected indicia 22. Additionally, the indicia 22 may be printed on the tag 20, carved into the tag 20 and presented on the tag 20 in any conventional means. The tag 20 may be comprised of an impact resistant material such as plastic or the like to resist is deformed when the tag 20 is struck by a golf club.

The peripheral surface 28 has an aperture 34 extending through the top side 30 and the bottom side 32. The aperture 34 insertably receives the bottom end 18 of the golf tee 12 and the aperture 34 has a bounding surface 36. The tag 20 may have a length of approximately 9.0 mm, a height of approximately 3.0 mm and a width of approximately 2 mm. A nodule 38 extends outwardly from the bounding surface 36. The nodule 38 frictionally engages the golf tee 12 when the golf tee 12 is inserted into the aperture 34. In this way the nodule 38 facilitates the tag 20 to frictionally engage a variety of diameters of the golf tees 12.

In use, the golf tee 12 is extended through the aperture 34 in the tag 20 and the bottom end 18 of the golf tee 12 is inserted into the ground 14. Thus, the tag 20 is positioned between the ground 14 and the top end 16 of the golf tee 12. The golf ball is positioned on the top end 16 of the golf ball and the golf ball is driven from the tee. Moreover, the tag 20 be is positioned on a new golf tee 12 when the golf tee 12 breaks during driving. In this way the tag 20 facilitates the indicia 22 on the tag 20 to be displayed on golf tees 12 of a variety of sizes and lengths.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A golf tag system comprising:

a golf tee is configured to penetrate ground having said golf tee extending upwardly from the ground, said golf tee having a top end and a bottom end;

a tag slidably receiving said golf tee wherein said tag is configured to be positioned between said top end and the ground when said bottom end of said golf tee penetrates the ground, said tag having indicia is printed thereon wherein said indicia is configured to enhance an ornamental appearance of said golf tee, said tag having a first surface, a second surface and a peripheral surface extending therebetween, said first surface and said second surface being planar and parallel to each other, said indicia being positioned on said first surface and said second surface; and

an aperture extending fully through said tag parallel to said first surface and said second surface.

3. The system according to claim 1, wherein:

said peripheral surface has a top side and a bottom side; and

said aperture extends through said top side and said bottom side.

4. The system according to claim 1, further comprising a nodule extending from said tag into said aperture between said top side and said bottom side of said peripheral surface, said nodule frictionally engaging said golf tee when said golf tee is inserted into said aperture thereby facilitating said tag to frictionally engage a variety of diameters of said golf tees.

5. A golf tag system comprising:

a golf tee is configured to penetrate ground having said golf tee extending upwardly from the ground, said golf tee having a top end and a bottom end; and

a tag slidably receiving said golf tee wherein said tag is configured to be positioned between said top end and the ground when said bottom end of said golf tee penetrates the ground, said tag having indicia is printed thereon wherein said indicia is configured to enhance an ornamental appearance of said golf tee, said tag having a first surface, a second surface and a peripheral surface extending therebetween, said first surface and said second surface being planar and parallel to each other, said peripheral surface having a top side and a bottom side, each of said first surface and said second surface having said indicia thereon;

an aperture extending fully through said tag parallel to said first surface and said second surface, said aperture extending through said top side and said bottom side, said aperture insertably receiving said bottom end of said golf tee; and

a nodule extending from said tag into said aperture between said top side and said bottom side of said peripheral surface, said nodule frictionally engaging said golf tee when said golf tee is inserted into said aperture thereby facilitating said tag to frictionally engage a variety of diameters of said golf tees.
