DISHWASHING GLOVE

The present invention relates to a washing glove made of multiple layers, wherein the layers are made of waterproof layer and a sweat absorption layer. The washing glove externally has filaments made of waterproof, flexible material. Through the present invention, a user has the ability to clean dishes and items using only the glove without the use of a further device, with the glove providing waterproof protection for a users hand and absorbing sweat from the user's hands, wrists, and forearms. The glove is suitable for use in almost any temperature water.

Description
BACKGROUND

Dishwashing is an exercise performed by any homeowner, lab technician, or restauranteur attempting to keep dishes clean and usable. While modern technology includes dishwashing machines, such machines oftentimes are not suitable cleaning all aspects of a dish, as well as not being able to clean irregularly shaped dishes. Such cleaning thus requires the use of hand-cleaning.

Current hand-cleaning methods range from using mere wet rags to hand-held scrubbers. However, even with the use of such tools, nothing quite meets the best tool for cleaning—the human hand. In order to use the direct hand for cleaning, there exists various forms of plastic gloves, however such gloves are not suitable as they are not water-proof. In the event they are water-proof, they are uncomfortable overtime because users' hands sweat while in the gloves.

There exists a need in the market for a new type of cleaning glove that allows a user to better implement the use of his hands, while allowing the user to use the glove for a longer period of time. Such longer time use occurs because the glove minimizes sweat impact created by the users hand.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 of the present invention is an embodiment wherein the glove includes filaments on its external and a waterproof substrate;

FIG. 2 of the present invention is an embodiment of the topside of the present invention; and

FIG. 3 is an embodiment of the internal layer of the present invention.

DESCRIPTION

It will be readily understood that the components of the embodiments as generally described and illustrated in the figures herein, may be arranged and designed in a wide variety of different configurations in addition to the described example embodiments. Thus, the following more detailed description of the example embodiments, as represented in the figures, is not intended to limit the scope of the embodiments, as claimed, but is merely representative of example embodiments.

Furthermore, the described features, structures, or characteristics may be combined in any suitable manner in one or more embodiments. In the following description, numerous specific details are provided to give a thorough understanding of embodiments. One skilled in the relevant art will recognize, however, that the various embodiments can be practiced without one or more of the specific details, or with other methods, components, materials, etc. In other instances, well-known structures, materials, or operations are not shown or described in detail to avoid obfuscation. The following description is intended only by way of example, and simply illustrates certain example embodiments.

As used herein, the term “filament” shall refer to a thread, string, or thin appendage of size from about 0.5 inches to 2 inches.

The term “waterproof” shall refer to a item in the state of being water-impervious, either through physical mens or chemical means.

The term “sweat absorbing” or “sweat absorption” shall refer to the action of wicking moisture generated by the human skin into another material via capillary action.

With reference to the figures,

FIG. 1 is an bottom side view embodiment of the present invention wherein a glove 100 extending from the hand to either the wrist or to the forearm of the user includes an exterior substrate 103 made of a waterproof or water-resistant material such as rubber, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyurethane, silicone elastomer, fluoropolymers, and wax. In a preferred embodiment, the glove substrate 103 is made of a latex and rubber material.

The substrate 103 further includes a hand portion 104, wherein the hand portion 104 is covered on the palms and fingers with filaments 101. The filaments 101 may be made out of a variety of materials include silicone, natural brush, plastic, and nylon. In a preferred embodiment, the filaments 101 are made of silicone.

Whereas the hand portion 104 can include individual fingers for a user, in another embodiment, the hand portion 104 can be a mitten, wherein the various fingers are fused.

The tops of the hand portions 104, in one embodiment, are physical sealed at their tips 105. Such sealing ensures water may not enter into the hand portion 104.

The glove 100 further includes pleats 109 immediately below the hand portion 104, as well as at the base of the glove 100.

The filaments 101 positioned on the hand portion 104 can be in a variety of designs, including rows, circular design, or arbitrary design.

To be discussed later, the glove 100 includes an internal layer 107 suitable for wicking away sweat from the user's hand and/or forearm while the glove 100 is in use.

FIG. 2 is a top side view of the glove 100 of the present invention. As shown, the glove 100 includes filaments 201 on each of the finger portions. The filament 201 are preferably from 1 inch to 3 inches in length, measured from the tip of the finger portion. In a preferred embodiment, the filament 201 are 2 inches in length.

In another embodiment, the finger portions are fused into a mitten.

As previously discussed, the filaments 201 may be made out of a variety of materials include silicone, natural brush, plastic, and nylon. In a preferred embodiment, the filaments 201 are made of silicone.

The top side of the glove 100 further includes pleats 205 immediately below the hand portion 104, as well as at the base of the glove 100.

FIG. 3 is an embodiment of the internal layer 107 of the glove 100 of the present invention, wherein the internal layer 107 is made of a material capable of absorbing or wicking away sweat from a user's hand and forearm while the glove 100 is in use. Suitable materials for the internal layer 107 include cotton, polyester, polypropylene, and natural fibers. In another embodiment, the internal layer 107 can be made from two or more suitable materials, for example cotton and polyester.

The internal layer 107 is sealed at its fingertips 301 to allow the internal layer 107 to remain dry from water that may enter into the glove 100.

In one embodiment, the internal layer 107 extends the entire size of the glove 100, such that the hand, wrist, and forearm of the user remains dry. The internal layer 107 is fused with the external layer at the base (i.e., where the glove ends, which may be at the wrist or forearm). In such an embodiment, water is not able to get between the external layer and the internal layer.

In addition to providing wicking properties, the internal layer 107 provides temperature protection to the user, allowing the glove 100 to be used in both hot and cold temperatures. In one embodiment, the glove 100 may be used in temperature range of from 45 degrees to 75 degrees Celsius.

Although various embodiments of the present invention have been shown and described, modifications may occur to those skilled in the art upon reading the specification. The present invention includes such modifications and is limited only by the scope of the claims.
