CIGARETTE ASH CATCHING ASSEMBLY
A cigarette ash catching assembly a housing that has a first end, a second end, and a perimeter wall extending between the first and second ends. The first end has a well extending therein. The well extends toward and is spaced from the second end such that the second end forms a closed wall. The well defines a cigarette receiving space. The housing is comprised of a mesh material such that air can freely flow through the perimeter wall and into the well. A mouth piece is removably attachable to the first end and is in fluid communication with the housing. A cigarette is positionable in the well such that smoke may be drawn from the cigarette and through the mouth piece wherein ashes from the cigarette are retained within the housing.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
- (1) Field of the Invention
- (2) Description of Related Art including information disclosed under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98.
The disclosure and prior art relate to cigarette smoking safety devices and more particularly pertains to a new cigarette smoking safety device for preventing burns, such as to bedsheets, when a cigarette is dropped should a person fall asleep. Such a device will help prevent fires that are accidentally caused by persons falling asleep while smoking.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONAn embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a housing has a first end, a second end, and a perimeter wall extending between the first and second ends.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A mouth piece 22 is removably attachable to the first end 14. The mouth piece 22 includes a receiver end 24 and a mouth end 26. The receiver end 24 is threadably coupled to a collar 28 attached to the first end 14 such that the mouth end 26 is in fluid communication with the well 20. As can be seen in the Figures, the receiver end 24 includes male coupler and the collar 28 is female coupler, but this arrangement may be reversed. The mouth piece 22 includes a mouth section 30 having a cylindrical shape. The mouth end 26 has a conduit 32 extending therein and is in fluid communication with the well 20. A portion of the conduit 32 positioned within the mouth section 30 has a smaller diameter than a diameter of the well 20. The mouth section 30 also has a smaller diameter than the diameter of the housing 12.
In use, a cigarette 34 is positionable in the well 20 such that smoke may be drawn from the cigarette 34 and through the mouth piece 2 wherein ashes from the burning of cigarette 34 are retained within the housing 12. In this way, a fire or burns may be prevented as the cigarette coal and ash is retained within the housing 12 and cannot therefore fall onto a flammable object to start a fire or otherwise burn a person. Once the cigarette 34 has been completely smoked, it may be removed from the housing 12 and replaced with another cigarette 34. The diameter of the mouth section 30 conduit 32 is smaller than the cigarette 34 diameter to prevent the cigarette 34 from moving into the mouth section 30. The diameter of the well 20 may be provided as needed depending on the cigarette 34 size such that the diameter of the well is within 1.0 mm of the diameter of the cigarette 34.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the elements is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
