MOBILE DEVICE PROTECTION CASE
A mobile device protection case is provided. The mobile device protection case includes a planar base. A perimeter sidewall is connected to the planar base and extends upward from a perimeter of the planar base. The perimeter sidewall also defines an interior volume. The interior volume is sized to allow for a mobile device to be placed in the interior volume. A number of apertures are placed on a corner portion of the perimeter sidewall. The apertures are designed to allow a first lanyard to be connected to the mobile device protection case. A connection ring is also placed on a rear surface of the planar base. The connection ring is designed to allow the mobile device protection case to receive a second lanyard.
This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/934,159 filed on Nov. 12, 2019. The above identified patent application is herein incorporated by reference in its entirety to provide continuity of disclosure
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to a protection case for a mobile device, such as a smart phone. More specifically, the present invention provides a dual-connection protection case for a mobile device.
In current times, most people own and use mobile devices during their daily lives. As mobile devices become more and more popular, they are also becoming more of an essential part of life. Mobile devices not only have become our primary means through which to communicate with each other, but have also become our primary interface for social media, news, and the internet. Additionally, most mobile devices are multi-functional serving as cameras, scanners or flashlights in addition to simply acting as cellular phones. As the number of functions and operations that mobile devices can perform has risen, the cost of the mobile devices themselves has risen exponentially. This has had the effect of making mobile devices expensive to replace. In addition to being expensive, replacing a mobile device is inconvenient for a user as they will lose access to their primary form of communication, as well as much of their personal data, during the replacement period.
Many phone cases and protection devices and services exist for mobile devices. Typically, phones are secured within these cases and the cases are designed to prevent physical damage to the mobile device when the mobile device is dropped or otherwise subjected to impact. Some cases include rubberized gripping material or ergonomic indents. However, even with these features, it is still possible to lose control of the mobile device and drop it.
As smart phones with large touchscreens have become more popular, screen protectors, which are secured to the smart phone screen directly, have risen commensurately in popularity. However, these current cases and screen protectors still only provide limited protection. In the event that a mobile device falls to the ground or into water, there is still a high risk of damage to the mobile device. Mobile device cases that are waterproof generally are inconveniently large or have the effect of making operation of the mobile device difficult.
Therefore, there is a defined need amongst the known prior art references for a mobile phone protection device that not only provides standard fall protection for the device itself, but also provides additional securement options to prevent impact in the event of a dropped phone. The mobile phone protection device will ideally provide multiple connections for the user to secure the mobile phone to his or her person as desired.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of mobile phone cases and protection systems now present in the prior art, the present invention provides a mobile device protection case wherein the same can be utilized for providing convenience for the user when protecting a mobile device from falling.
The present system comprises a planar base. A perimeter sidewall extends upward from a perimeter of the planar base. The perimeter sidewall defines an interior volume. The interior volume is dimensioned to receive a mobile device therein. A pair of apertures are disposed on a corner portion of the perimeter sidewall. The pair of apertures are configured to receive a first lanyard therethrough. A connection ring is disposed on a rear surface of the planar base. The connection ring is configured to receive a second lanyard.
Although the characteristic features of this invention will be particularly pointed out in the claims, the invention itself and manner in which it may be made and used may be better understood after a review of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like numeral annotations are provided throughout.
Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the mobile device protection case. The figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.

A perimeter sidewall 12 extends orthogonally around a perimeter of the planar base 11. In the illustrated embodiment, the perimeter sidewall 12 extends entirely around the planar base 11. In alternate embodiments, the perimeter sidewall 12 may only extend around defined portions of the planar base 11. The perimeter sidewall 12 defines an interior volume. The interior volume is dimensioned to receive a mobile device 13 therein. In the illustrated embodiment, the perimeter sidewall 12 further comprises a support rim 14. The support rim 14 is disposed on the perimeter sidewall 12 opposite the planar base 11. The support rim 14 is configured to provide additional security to the mobile device 13 when the mobile device 13 is placed into the mobile device protection case 10. The perimeter sidewall 12 is constructed of any suitable material.

In the illustrated embodiment, the mobile device protection case further comprises a plurality of connection openings 25. The plurality of connection openings 25 are disposed on the perimeter sidewall 12 of the mobile device protection case. Each connection opening 25 is configured to enable access to a connection output or a connection input of the mobile device. For example, a connection opening 25 may be placed on the perimeter sidewall 12 in order to allow for access to a charging port of the mobile device. Additionally, a pair of connection openings 25 may be provided to allow a pair of speakers of the mobile device to emit sound properly and effectively. The plurality of connection openings 25 are dimensioned and positioned to allow access for all necessary inputs or outputs for the specific mobile device to which the mobile device protection case is configured.
Furthermore, in the demonstrated embodiment, the mobile device protection device further comprises at least one button cover 26. The button cover 26 is disposed on the perimeter sidewall 12 of the mobile device protection case. Each button cover 26 is configured to enable actuation of a button on the mobile device. For example, the button covers may be placed and configured to enable actuation of the volume buttons or the sleep button of the mobile device. The button cover 26 or button covers are positioned and dimensioned to allow access for all buttons of the specific mobile device to which the mobile device protection case is configured.
