BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (1) Field of the Invention

The disclosure relates to bathroom sanitation devices and more particularly pertains to a new bathroom sanitation device for protecting and concealing the toilet base.

(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98

The prior art relates to bathroom sanitation devices. Most existing devices are placed on the floor around a toilet to protect the floor without providing any protection or coverage to the toilet itself. Other devices attempt to cover the entirety of the toilet bowl and the floor around it. Known devices do not wrap around the toilet bowl or extend only to the floor.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a cover body having an outer side, an inner side, a top edge, a bottom edge, a left edge, and a right edge. The cover body is substantially flexible to conform to the shape of a toilet. A cover height of the left edge and the right edge is configured to extend from a rim of the toilet to proximal the floor. A plurality of bowl clips is coupled to the curtain. The plurality of bowl is coupled proximal the top edge of the curtain and is configured to selectively engage the rim of the toilet.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is an isometric view of a toilet bowl protective skirt apparatus according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a front elevation view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a rear elevation view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 4 is an isometric in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 5 is a side elevation in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new bathroom sanitation device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the toilet bowl protective skirt apparatus 10 generally comprises a cover body 12 having an outer side 14, an inner side 16, a top edge 18, a bottom edge 20, a left edge 22, and a right edge 24. The cover body 12 is substantially flexible to conform to the shape of a toilet 26. A cover height 28 of the left edge 22 and the right edge 24 is configured to extend from a rim 30 of the toilet to the floor 32.

The cover body 12 may have a reinforced portion 34 along the top edge 18 and extending from the left edge 22 to the right edge 24 and a curtain portion 36 extending from the reinforced portion 34 to the bottom edge 20. The reinforced portion 34 may be a rectangular strip of a rubberized, plasticized, or otherwise durable, waterproof, and elastically resilient material. The curtain portion 36 may be a rubberized, or otherwise durable, waterproof, and foldable material. The reinforced portion 34 may have a plurality of attachment apertures 38 extending therethrough.

A plurality of bowl clips 40 is coupled to the curtain 12 proximal the top edge 18 and configured to selectively engage the rim 30 of the toilet. Each bowl clip 40 of the plurality of bowl clips may have a clip body 42 and a clip fastener 44 selectively engageable with the plurality of attachment apertures 38. The clip body 42 may be a squared U-shape with a medial section 45 configured to span across the rim 30. The clip body 42 may be elastically deformable to increase separation between an outer section 46 and an inner section 48 when pushed onto the rim 30 to create a secure fit.

At least one strap 50 is coupled to the cover body 12. Each strap 50 has a proximal end 52 coupled to the cover body 12 adjacent the top edge 18 and proximal the left edge 22 and a distal end 54 having a first engagement member 56. The at least one strap 50 may be a pair of straps 50. Each strap 50 may be pivotably attached to the reinforced portion 34 of the cover body to allow for easier manipulation during installation.

At least one second engagement member 58 is coupled to the cover body 12. Each second engagement member 58 is coupled to the cover body adjacent the top edge 18 and proximal the right edge 24. The second engagement members 58 may be arranged horizontally along the reinforced portion 34 of the cover body 12. The first engagement members 56 are selectively engageable with the second engagement members 58 to secure the straps 50 across the toilet 26 behind the rim 30. The first engagement members 56 and the second engagement members 58 may be selectively engageable fasteners such as, but not limited to, snaps, hook-and-loop fasteners, buttons, and the like.

At least one storage pocket 60 may be coupled to the outer side 14 of the cover body. The at least one storage pocket 60 may be a pair of storage pockets 60 coupled adjacent the left edge 22 and the right edge 24 of the curtain portion 36 of the cover body. Each storage pocket 60 may be mesh to avoid collecting moisture. The storage pockets 60 are configured to secure sanitation items such as, but not limited to, air fresheners 62, cleaning wipes 64, sponges, and the like.

In use, the plurality of bowl clips 40 is attached to the cover body 12 and then engaged with the rim 30 of the toilet. Each bowl clip 40 is then positioned to allow the curtain portion 36 of the cover body to cover as much of the toilet 26 as possible. The first engagement members 56 are then engaged with the second engagement members 58 to secure the straps 50 onto the toilet 26. The toilet 26 may then be used as normal while being protected from urine and other unsightly liquid build up.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
